What is up with the weather as it is not smiling on the Dutch season so far with to many washouts and with my VRA side today again, but thankfully the Dames side won their match vs Kampong this morning by 71 runs (130/03 v 059/08) and look a better unit than last year getting results when required. VRA goes again tomorrow in a refix vs Hermes away and lets hope the weather plays ball. As I said a couple of weeks ago something at VRA as a whole has changed this year getting wins that could have been losses last year and even in defeat staying competitive until the bitter end.
Dames were outclassed during the week in Leeds and Sale but these as far as I am aware were practice matches for the 2 English sides but the positive is that players got time in the middle in the longer version for them, something not done since Thailand 2 match series 2023 at home and 2022 4 match series away and Ireland 3 match series 2022 at home also.
Lets hope for more 50 over cricket as with qualifiers coming up my Irish side bound to be in them looking at last place in World Champ League even with 12 matches to go alongside as it stands Bangladesh, Windes and Pakistan, the Dames and Scots and two others maybe Thailand and Zimbabwe it will be a tough event.
I would think it would be 2 from the WCL and 2 others in a group with top 2 to a semi final with finalists going through to 2025 WCWC. Possible groups would be Pakistan, Bangladesh, Scotland and Zimbabwe with West Indies, Ireland, Netherlands and Thailand in them based on current rankings even though the Scottish do not have a ranking with only 13 ranked in official list as of 31/12/2023 they will be in it persuming because of the T20 qualification
