Bertus de Jong 17:25
So that’s it from us for the round, an emphatic victory in the end for VOC though the hosts had the better of the opening exchanges in both innings. An unbeaten ton from Edwards and so long as he was at the crease the result never really seemed in doubt. Fine showing from Wahid Masood however, who finishes with figures of 3-24 to go with his half-century this morning. Rod’s already got the review of yesterday’s action ready for you, but do check back later in the week for updates, previews and the like, and of course join us again next week for a double-header weekend. Until then this is Bertus de Jong signing off from a sunny Sportpark Drieburg.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 17:20
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 188-3 (35.2 overs)
misfield at point gives up another boundary to Edwards, Dosti have been looking ragged foir a while now. Jain rather throws away a not-out by chipping Masood to Diwan at mid off on the final ball of the 35th with the scores level, but two balls later it’s all over. Bye to the keeper to finish in rather anti-climactic style, Edwards finishing unbeaten on 112* off 118 balls.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 17:15
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 182-2 (34 overs)
Jain on the sweep now and four through fine leg off Hoseinbaks, then bunts to leg to get Edwards on strike. Punched through the covers off the back foot and beats the man to the boundary, and that brings up his century. The next is driven hard and flat into the sight screen on the full, one hit away now.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 17:10
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 167-2 (33 overs)
Edwards goes to 94* lofting Hoseinbaks onto the Korfball courts. Masood back at the other end, five off the first of his spell, VOC closing in on victory now.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 17:00
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 150-2 (30 overs)
Partnership picking up pace now, Edwards takes Raja for back-to-back boundaries in the 29th, then Dosti give up four byes in the next as Hoseibaks’ second delivery beats everyone. The next is wider and cut away through point by Jain to the boundary.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 16:48
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 130-2 (28 overs)
The wind’s really picked up a bit here, bails blowing off at the bowler’s end holding up play. It’s not slowed Edwards much though, twice sweeping Diwan for four to move into the seventies. Jain still with him as Bhutta continues from the korfball end. And Jain brings up the century partnership glancing him fine for one. Looks likely to prove a match-winnings satnd now, this.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 16:22
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 102-2 (22 overs)
Jain seems to be seeing them rather better of a sudden, lifts Hoseinbaks over long on for six. Hundred comes up for VOC in the next over, Edwards on to 60* now, Jain 17*.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 16:08
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 87-2 (18 overs)
Hans into the attack after drinks, flat and full and met with a trademark sweep, fine and away to the rope. Next ball is a carbon copy to bring up Edwards’half-century, to a smattering of applause.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 15:54
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 70-2 (15 overs)
Edwards picks up four more inside-edging Bhutta across his stumps and away to the rope, and four more to the same spot off the face of the bat in the next over. He moves on to 39*. Game drifting back in VOC’s favour.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 15:41
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 55-2 (12 overs)
Four dots and then Edwards lifts Hoseinbaks high over mid on, bounces just inside the boundary.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 15:41
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 55-2 (12 overs)
Too wide from Masood and Edwards cuts him away behind point for four, then brings up the fifty for VOC driving straight. Dosti can’t really afford to let a partnership develop, plenty of pep in the field just now but not a lot of runs on the board. Hoseinbaks takes over from Masood.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 15:19
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 45-2 (10 overs)
Bhutta into the attack, overpitched and Edwards drives through mid off, a good piece of work on the rope from Tewarie tracking round from deep cover. Don’t see too many threes on this ground.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 15:19
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 31-2 (7 overs)
And that’s a big wicket! Masood into the attack and the first ball is on O’Dowd’s pads and he’s just looked to flick that to leg, but it’s in the air and a great low catch at square leg, Tewarie we reckon. Tim de Kok in at three and survives a huge LBW appeal first ball. Doesn’t survive the next through, four balls later and the finger is up, what a day Masood is having! Jain in and very nearly run out first ball, driven straight and a direct hit as mid off is on it in a flash, looked pretty close from here…
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 15:08
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 24-0 (5 overs)
O’Dowd’s seen enough, steps out to Diwan and lifts him high and straight and onto the football field, then three balls later wide of mid on for four.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 15:01
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 10-0 (3 overs)
And we’re off, Diwan with the new ball for Dosti, six off the first over but quiet since, Raja from the other end we think. And a chance in the third over as O’Dowd drives up and straight, Diwan leaps but it bursts through his hands.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 14:44
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
VOC : 0-0 (0 overs)
And we’re about ready to get underay, Dosti huddled on the outfield, Edwards and O’Dowd to open as usual looks like.
Bertus de Jong 14:05
So a fine innings from Wahid Masood at the top of the order but the rest of the line-up couldn’t capitalise on the platform. VOC looked a little rusty in parts but have done a decent job to keep their hosts to a very chaseable 187 all out, Max Hoornweg with a fine start for his new club finishing pick of the bowlers with 3-33. We’ll be back for the VOC chase in about half an hour, do join us again then.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 14:04
Dosti : 187 all out (45.1 overs)
Fletcher wraps it up, Hosienbacks leading edge looping up into the off side where Tim de Kok takes the catch. Dosti all out for 187, the tail rather failing to wag after a promising start.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 13:54
Dosti : 183-9 (43 overs)
And Hoornweg has three, Raja playing around astraight one and pinned in front, all rapidly unravelling here. Bhutta last man.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 13:48
Dosti : 176-8 (42 overs)
And Hoseinbaks out, steps out looking to work Hoornweg tpo ;leg but it eludes him and Edwards is up to the stumps and quick. Asief in, and Diwan goes first ball of the next, Fletcher offering width and Diwan cutting hard and low, but not low enough as Schooheim takes an excellent low catch.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 13:35
Dosti : 173-6 (39 overs)
Jain has returned to take over from Schoonheim, and Hoornweg back at the other end, VOC have been a bit sloppy, at least one bad ball every over and boundaries coming, then a dropped catch and a misfield gives up four to boot. Hoornweg need not rely on the field there, though. Hans trapped in front and the finger goes up. He goes for 33, Arief Hoseinbaks in.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 13:10
Dosti : 141-5 (33 overs)
And just as the partnership was developing VOC find another breakthrough, O’Dowd strikes, Hanoeman on the pads in front and the finger goes up. He doesn’t look happy about it, but then what bat ever does? Diwan in to join Hans, who’s on 27*.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 12:50
Dosti : 118-4 (26 overs)
And Schoonheim does the trick, Masood on the charge and connects with the first, half chance at deep midwicket but the fielder slips and spills it and away for four, but the next ball he’s down the track and and doesn’t connect, Edwards is up to the stumps and makes no mistake. Gone for 64 off 71, Hanoeman in to join Hans.

Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 12:35
Dosti : 102-3 (22 overs)
Massod brings up his fifty with a single off Upadhyaya, then the team hundred in the next over. Solid platform here but a couple of wickets could put VOC right back on top one feels. In pursuit thereof a double bowling change, Jelte Schoonheim taking over from Upahyaya and Max O’Dowd’s fast legspin from the other end.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 12:22
Dosti : 87-3 (17 overs)
And the break has broken his concentration it seems, Tewarie edges Jain behind and gone four balls after the resumption. Hans in at five and off the mark with a boundary through third.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 12:15
Dosti : 82-2 (16.1 overs)
Four more for Tewarie, driving Jain through the covers, and picks up two more in the next over, running Upadhyaya down through third and then driving straight for four more. Masood picks up another boundary too, closing in on a half century. He’s on 44* now, Tewarie on 16*. Looks like that ball’s diappeared too, so early drinks.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 12:03
Dosti : 63-2 (14 overs)
And one brings two as Ghori goes first ball of the 14th. low full toss from Upadhyaya and plays all round it, stumps spread. Captain to the crease, Tewarie at four and off the mark with a boundary, driven square through point.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 11:58
Dosti : 59-1 (13 overs)
And apologies to Rahil Ahmed as the commentator’s curse strikes again, back in the crase and feathers through to Edwards, and the stand is broken. Ghori at three.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 11:55
Dosti : 58-0 (12 overs)
Upadhyaya replaces Fletcher, but goes little better. Masood brings up the fifty with a six over long on, comfortably clearing the man on the rope. He’s on to 36* now, Ahmed on 14*. Still Jain from the other end. Been a while since we’ve seen a start as good as this from Dosti.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 11:46
Dosti : 47-0 (10 overs)
Arnav Jain into the attack now, decent start from him, just two singles off the over. Fletcher still at the other end, driven out to long on where a misfield allows the second, then goes shorter and Masood pulls him hard over midwicket for six. Two balls later and he steps out to drive hard and straight for four more. Fourteen off the over all told.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 11:35
Dosti : 30-0 (7 overs)
Fletcher punished now too, too much width and Ahmed is up on his toes cutting hard in front of point for four. Just the one slip in now.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 11:25
Dosti : 21-0 (5 overs)
Still Fletcher and Hoornweg for VOC, the latter finds the first chance as Masood drives uppishly toward mid on but the chance goes down. Insult to injury for Hoornweg too as he loses his line and is glanced through fine leg to the rope, and then pulled away through midwicket for four more.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 11:14
Dosti : 4-0 (2 overs)
Rahil Ahmed and Whaid Masood opening for the hosts, Pierce Fletcher and Max Hoornweg sharing the new ball.
Dosti vs VOC Rotterdam 10:53
VOC have won the toss we’re told, and will field first.
Bertus de Jong 10:35
Good morning all and welcome to day two of round one. Just the one match left to get done, with VOC taking on Dosti at Drieburg. It’s another lovely day for cricket, hope to have some word of the toss for you shortly.
Rod Lyall 18:35
So that’s day one done and dusted, with HCC, Punjab and HBS victorious in Group A and VRA and Voorburg winning in Group B. Notable centuries for Tonny Staal of HCC, Tayo Walbrugh of HBS and Stephan Myburgh of Punjab, and a near-miss for ACC’s Robin Smith. There’s one more match in round 1, Dosti hosting VOC, and we’ll be here again to keep you informed of the action. But for now this is Rod Lyall saying goodbye from sunny Amstelveen.
Sparta 1888 vs HCC 18:30
HCC : 263-3 (50 overs)

ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:26
HBS : 247-9 (50 overs)
ACC: 201 all out (42.1 overs)
And it doesn’t last much longer: Kumar is stumped off Stephan Vink, and when Reddy is bowled next ball, HBS have secured the win, by 46 runs. Three for 23 for Vink.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 18:22
Excelsior : 164 all out (46.1 overs)
VCC : 167-4 (48 overs)
All over at Thurlede, Etman serves one up in the slot to de Leede who needs no second invitation, all wrist and whipped through the line and away over mid on for four to finish. De Leede ends unbeaten on 73, Nieuwoudt on 33 and a comfortable win in the end.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:17
HBS : 247-9 (50 overs)
ACC: 192-8 (42.1 overs)
But Smith goes cow-wards again in Stephan Vink’s next, and Walbrugh’s out there to take the catch. Smith is devastated, but he has to go, for 93. That’s pretty much game, set and match.

ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:07
HBS : 247-9 (50 overs)
ACC: 182-7 (40 overs)
A captain’s over from Ferdi Vink turns the game back HBS’s way, as Zaidi gets a little becalmed and then clips a drive to Singh at point. 66 needed from ten.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 17:59
HBS : 247-9 (50 overs)
ACC: 172-6 (38 overs)
The answer is that maybe he can, as he goes pretty briskly on to 74*, and ACC need 78 off 12. The HBS voices are starting to sound a little more urgent.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 17:48
Excelsior : 164 all out (46.1 overs)
VCC : 124-4 (42 overs)
De Grooth goes for 38, stroking an innocuous ball from Rens van Troost to point. De Leede looks untroubled however, pressing on toward the total with Nieuwoudt. 39 to get off 8.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 17:49
HBS : 247-9 (50 overs)
ACC: 147-6 (35 overs)
A maiden half-century for Smith, now on 52*, and he’s receiving decent support from Zaidi. ACC need 101 from 15 overs, but they don’t have a lot of batting left, and it remains to be seen whether Smith can go through the gears.

Excelsior vs Voorburg 15:22

VCC : 7-0 (3 overs)
They’re back underway at Thurlede too, a cautious start. Hingorani and Musa Ahmad opening for the visitors, Niels Etman and Rens van Troost sharing the new ball.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 15:22
HBS : 247-9 (50 overs)
ACC: 10-0 (3 overs)
Back at ‘t Loopveld, where Hobson and Anis Raza open against Ryan Klein and Ferdi Vink. Little drama so far, apart from a Hobson boundary off Klein’s first over.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 15:13
Kampong : 172 all out (41.3 overs)
Punjab: 28-1 (7 overs)
Myburgh picks up where he left off in Hamilton, pulling Roy over the rope at square leg. Ominous for Kampong, this.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 15:11
VRA : 249-4 (50 overs)
Salland : 28-2 (7 overs)
Abid again, Khan walking across and then entirely past his stumps and is duly bowled behind his legs. Naqash in at four.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 15:06
Kampong : 172 all out (41.3 overs)
Punjab: 17-1 (4.5 overs)
And there it is, as Nana bowls Rehmat for 9. Asad the next Zulfiqar up.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 15:03
Kampong : 172 all out (41.3 overs)
Punjab: 16-0 (4 overs)
Roy starts with a wide, and when he drops a little short Myburgh swings him away in front of square. Another boundary for Rehmat off Nana, but this is a decent start from Kampong. They need to make early inroads, though.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 14:53
VRA : 249-4 (50 overs)
Salland : 16-1 (3 overs)
Abid finds his line, length and the stumps. Full and swinging in, not much Ganesan can do with that other than watch it smash into the base of the woodwork. Talha Khan in at three.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 14:51
Kampong : 172 all out (41.3 overs)
Punjab: 4-0 (1 over)
Rehmat Zulfiqar cracks Kirtan Nana’s first Topklasse delivery to the point boundary, but the rest of the over is tidy enough. Alex Roy from the Harbour End to Steph Myburgh.
Sparta 1888 vs HCC 14:45
HCC : 263-3 (50 overs)
Zac Woerden hit an unbeaten 79 on debut, with Boris Gorlee contributing 11 and Hidde Overdijk 9* at the end. Pretty dominant effort from the Lions!
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 14:30
HBS : 247-9 (50 overs)
Yes and no: Ryan Klein adds more misery, reaching 76, but Van Vliet picks up both him and Klein minor to finish with three for 23. From 106 for six, HBS will be pretty happy with that.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 14:27
Excelsior : 164 all out (46.1 overs)
Potgieter wraps things up, holding a simple return catch as Baker bunts a full toss back to him. He finishes with figures of 3-16 as Excelsior are all out for 164. Ingram’s 41 and a late cameo have given the hosts something to bowl at, but they’ve their work cut out for them after lunch defending what looks a below par total.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 14:20
Excelsior : 162-9 (45 overs)
Baker ducks into a bouncer from de Leede and wears it on the back of the helmet, bit of a hold-up in play as he’s checked on. He looks to be OK though. Kingma at the other end.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 14:17
HBS : 219-7 (47.1 overs)
A century for Walbrugh and a fifty for Klein, and the ACC attack is on the ropes. But then Van Vliet has Walbrugh caught by Hobson for 101, and as Kyle Klein joins his big brother there’s a chance of a little respite.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 14:10
Kampong : 172 all out (41.3 overs)
Malik finally hits a return catch to Ashiqullah, and the innings comes to a somewhat disappointing close after Kampong were 119 for two at one stage. Malik’s 58 stands out, but Kampong will need to bowl very well indeed here.
Sparta 1888 vs HCC 14:09
HCC : 194-2 (44 overs)
Staal goes for 121, caught by Ashan Malik off Joost Martijn Snoep.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 14:08
HBS : 208-6 (45 overs)
The partnership reaches 100, with Walbrugh on 94* and Klein on 48*.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 14:06
Excelsior : 150-9 (42 overs)
Apologies to Stan van Troost, who falls victim to the commentator’s curse and a Bas de Leede yorker. He goes for 24, and Rens follows him in the next over, LBW to Boissevain.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 14:02
Kampong : 169-9 (40 overs)
Saqib has Roy caught by Nidamanuru for 6 and Mubashar removes Kirtan Nana for a duck. Last man Saurabh Zalpuri joins Malik, now on 55*. Three for 42 for Saqib, four for 38 for Mubashar with an over left.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 13:58
VRA : 249-4 (50 overs)
Fifty for Balbirnie too. And finishes with a flourish, ramping Ahmadi over his shoulder for four on the final ball to set the visitors a target of exactly 250. Together Borren and Balbinie have added 135 in that unbroken 5th-wicket stand, Borren finishing on 75* off 66 and Balbirnie 57* off 71.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 14:00
Excelsior : 147-7 (40 overs)
Stan van Troost is leading a mini-revival at Thurlede meanwhile, taking Shariz Ahmad for 11 in the 39th over to move into the twenties. Rens van Troost with hinm in the middle with ten overs to go.
Sparta 1888 vs HCC 13:56
HCC : ???-? (?? overs)
We hear that Staal has reached his century, but we know no more than that.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 13:54
HBS : 185-6 (41 overs)
Meanwhile at ‘t Loopveld Walbrugh and Klein major have extended their seventh-wicket stand to 79, on 82* and 35* respectively. A big finish could be on the cards.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 13:50
VRA : 231-4 (48 overs)
Borren throwing caution to the wind now, but Salland aren’t aiding him in his apparent quest to get out. He’s been dropped three times and now bowled off a no ball, and he’s making them pay for it. He’s on 71* off 60-odd deliveries now.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 13:50
Kampong : 161-7 (36 overs)
I rest my case, as Singh Jhala tries to turn Mubashar to leg and is given leg-before by umpire Das. Well back in the crease, must have been pretty adjacent. Then Robert van der Harten clips his first ball straight to point. Alex Roy glances the hat-trick ball for four. 200 starting to look a long way off.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 13:42
Kampong : 155-5 (35 overs)
Fifty for Malik, but he really needs to be there at or close to the end if Kampong are to set their hosts a challenging target.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 13:41
VRA : 208-4 (46 overs)
Another hard run three, that’s eight in the innings now, is followed by a boundary as Borren reverse-sweeps Ahmadi fine for four. The next is hit harder and squarer to beat backward point for the same result, taking Borren past fifty off as many balls.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 13:35
Excelsior : 125-6 (33.1 overs)
Potgieter has another, Shankar on the back foot looking to punch into the off side, nicks through to Hingorani. Niels Etman on his way to the middle, but first drinks.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 13:31
VRA : 189-4 (44 overs)
The rope has remained hard to find as we enter the death here, but it’s been a productive partnership for VRA, 73 runs so far off 15 overs. Borren is one big hit away from fifty in principle, though we’ve yet to see a six in the innings. Balbirnie on 33* off 53.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 13:31
Kampong : 149-5 (33.3 overs)
Another four for Butt, but then he holes out to Sami off Mubashar and departs for 19. Enter Shivdutt Singh Jhala.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 13:26
Kampong : 144-4 (33 overs)
Butt, never inclined to die wondering, proceeds briskly to 15*, including an effortless six over cover off Mubashar and a couple of fours. Malik the sheetanchor, on 45*.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 13:19
Kampong : 133-4 (31 overs)
Jacod gets just a single before he’s bowled by Saqib (for it is he), and Sherry Butt joins Malik*, now on 44. Kampong could do with a partnership here.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 13:18
Excelsior : 111-5 (30 overs)
And Kingma gets the big wicket, back of a length and Ingram swivels to pull but doesn’t get enough of it, holes out for 41. Stan van Troost in.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 13:13
HBS : 123-6 (30 overs)
Walbrugh reaches his first fifty of the season, moving to 52*, with Ryan Klein still very watchful at the other end. Chris McInerney and Mees van Vliet into the attack now, with Hobson and Reddy both bowled out for three for 23 and two for 20 respectively.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 13:12
Excelsior : 101-4 (29 overs)
Hundred up for Excelsior meanwhile, Ingram on 35*, Shankar on 7. Kingma back into the attack
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 13:11
VRA : 153-4 (39 overs)
A sense of urgency creeping into this partnership, Borren finds another two off a top-edged reverse sweep off Ganesan, but boundaries are hard to find. Meanwhile some sort of buzzard is circling over deep third, apparently reckons there might be some field mice hiding out there, which given the state of the outfield is hardly implausible.
Sparta 1888 vs HCC 13:09
HCC : 109-1 (28 overs)
Staal now on 71*.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 13:07
Kampong : 119-3 (28.1 overs)
Usman Malik deploying all his vast experience here, and Alphonse gaining in confidence all the time. But as I write this he falls to Saqib Zulfiqar for 30, caught by big brother Rehmat. Pierre Jacod in to join Malik, who’s on 36*.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 15:00
VRA : 137-4 (36 overs)
Balbirnie and Borren looking positive, both happy to deploy the sweep against the spinners. Outfield is copnspiring against them rather though, a lot of daisies to cut through on the way to the rope and a lot of threes out there, we’re up to six now I think as Borren beats the man at backward point on the reverse.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 12:58
HBS : 114-6 (27 overs)
Occupation of the crease is pretty crucial for HBS now, and Klein major seems keen to stick around, reaching 3* from 21 deliveries. Walbrugh makes further progress towards a fifty, now on 47*
Excelsior vs Voorburg 12:55
Excelsior : 87-4 (25 overs)
Boissevain finds reward, Kroesen goes back to cut and loses his off stump. Shankar in.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 12:51
Kampong : 98-2 (24 overs)
Saqib Zulfiqar and Mubashar Hussain maintain Punjab’s attack, but Alphonse and Malik continue to build steadily, now on 21* and 24* respectively.
Sparta 1888 vs HCC 12:46
HCC : 87-1 (21 overs)
There is indeed cricket at the Bermweg, and a game carrier-pigeon makes it through to tell us that HCC put on 70 for the first wicket before Clayton Floyd was run out for 21. Tonny Staal on 51*. Zac Woerden has joined him at the crease.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 12:41
VRA : 116-4 (29 overs)
And Rasool goes too, looking to brush Barathi off his pads and pinned in front for 30. Borren to the middle.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 12:40
Excelsior : 76-3 (21 overs)
Ali Ahmed into the attack and is dispatched for six over square leg first ball by Ingram. He’s into the twenties now. Flip Boissevain bowling from the other end.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 12:41
HBS : 106-6 (21.3 overs)
A third wicket for Hobson as Barresi is trapped in front for 5, and then Reddy strikes again, bowling Julien de Mey for 2. Only Walbrugh, now on 41*, standing firm for HBS as Ryan Klein joins him.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 12:36
VRA : 110-3 (27 overs)
Nasir finds the breakthrough, Dutt fending at a short ball and edging behind. Balbirnie in at five.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 12:34
Kampong : 72-2 (19 overs)
Tariq, in his final over, really fancies an LBW shout against Malik, but umpire Muthucumaru is resolute as Punjab press their case. The captain finishes with two for 34 from his ten overs straight.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 12:26
VRA : 100-2 (25 overs)
Dutt brings up the hundred for the hosts driving Ganesan straight for a couple, he moves on to 27*, Rasool on 22*. Nasir back into the attack.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 12:21
HBS : 98-4 (17 overs)
A mini-collapse at ‘t Loopveld, where Hobson gets Navjit caught by Robin Smith for 4 and Reece Mason goes soon after, also caught Smith off Reddy without scoring. But this brings Wesley Barresi in to join Walbrugh, still there on 35*.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 12:20
Excelsior : 53-3 (17 overs)
Ingram breaks double figures off his 36th delivery, lifting Potgieter over long off for four and bringing up the team 50 in so doing. It’s been slow going for the hosts however, 17 overs gone and 53 on the board.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 12:17
VRA : 86-2 (22 overs)
Drinks here at the Bos as the sunshine makes its way onto the balcony. Dutt and Rasool have looked in decent touch since the two wickets fell, Lubbers has been cycling through his German options to little avail. Dutt currently on 20*, Rasool on 15*.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 12:16
Kampong : 68-2 (15 overs)
The scoring system is down at Het Zomercomplex, but Abhyankar has gone, caught by Sami at long off off the bowling of Tariq. Usman Malik has joined Alphonse in the middle.

ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 12:01
HBS : 91-2 (13 overs)
Kaplan goes for 9, leg-before to Thomas Hobson. This brings Navjit Singh in to join Walbrugh, who’s moved on to 32*. Hobson and Joseph Reddy operating now.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 12:00
Excelsior : 36-3 (13 overs)
Potgieter has his first Topklasse wicket, back of a length and shaped in and Verhagen inside edges through to Hingorani. Joost Kroesen in to join Ingram, who’s on 4 off 25.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 11:58
Kampong : 48-1 (12 overs)
Samiullah Samarazai replaces Ashiq from the Harbour End and opens with a very tidy maiden to Abhyankar.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 11:52
Excelsior : 35-2 (12 overs)
Debutant Delano Potgieter into the attack for VCC now, with Bas de Leede at the other end. Verhagen and Ingram are circumspect however, score edging up into the thirties.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 11:47
Kampong : 45-1 (9 overs)
Tariq and Ashiq continue, but it’s Abhyankar who is taking the initiative, reaching 33* with a succession of lusty blows through and over the leg side. Alphonse still yet to score.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 11:45
VRA : 55-2 (12 overs)
And Ahmadi has another, Scully on the front foot and edged low, well held at first slip by German skipper Venkat Ganesan. Scully goes for 32, Aryan Dutt at four on VRA debut, and quickly off the mark running a two down to third.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 11:37
VRA : 50-1 (10 overs)
Scully brings up the fifty partnership with another fine drive for four off Lubbers, but Ahmadi finds the breakthrough in the next over, Singh bowled sweeping for 18. Shiraz Rasool to the middle to join Scully, who’s on 31*.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 11:36
HBS : 61-1 (7 overs)
Visée does what he’s best at, hammering 42 off 21 deliveries with five fours and three sixes before Ackermann gets him caught by Zaidi. But HBS are off to a flyer as Gavin Kaplan joins Walbrugh, who’s on 15.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 11:32
Kampong : 19-1 (5 overs)
Abhyankar clips Tariq off his pads through midwicket, and even on this lush outfield it has the legs to reach the boundary. They take a quick single off the next, Alphonse lands awkwardly, and there’s a longish delay. Looks like his left shoulder, or possibly wrist. He’s able to continue, though.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 11:27
Excelsior : 16-2 (6 overs)
Another down at Thurlede meanwhile, Kroesen glances fine and sets off only to be sent back to his doom by Verhagen. Ingram in, still Nieuwoudt and Kingma sharing the new ball.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 11:24
Kampong : 12-1 (4 overs)
A big appeal for a catch down the leg side from Abhyankar off Ashiqullah. Umpire is unmoved, the batter unmoving. A couple of balls later it’s a shout for LBW, also turned down. A wide and a leg-bye to finish the over.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 11:18
Kampong : 10-1 (2.5 overs)
A breakthrough at Het Zomercomplex: Tariq gets one to leave Briggs a little, and he’s bowled for 9. Ratha Alphonse in to join Abhyankar.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 11:17
VRA : 25-0 (4 overs)
First boundary of the innings as Scully drives Nasir handsomely through mid off, Nasir goes short next ball and is pulled square, one bounce over the rope and interrupts the Netherlands National Women’s Lacrosse team, who are practising byond the square boundary.
Excelsior vs Voorburg 11:12
Excelsior : 3-1 (2 overs)
Early wicket at Thurlede, Karl Nieuwoudt has Etman poking at a shortish ball outside off and nicks through to Hingorani. Roel Verhagen joins Luuk Kroesen.
Punjab Rotterdam vs Kampong 11:12
Kampong : 5-0 (1 over)
At Het Zomercomplex, where Punjab won the toss and inserted Kampong, Cole Briggs gets his season going with a boundary off Suleiman Tariq’s initial loosener. Ashiqullah Said from the other end. Sandeep Abhyankar yet to face.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 11:07
VRA : 8-0 (1 over)
Victor Lubbers takes the new ball himself, Vikram Singh and Luke Scully opening for the hosts. Lubbers opens with a wide high outside off, two balls later short and wide again and Singh lifts it over backward point. Not too far from hitting the tree either, which is inside the boundary today, but holds up in a rather verdant outfield. Gul Nasir from the other end.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 11:05
HBS : 1-0 (1 over)
They’re under way at Het Loopveld: Robert Ackermann starts to Tayo Walburgh, his first over marred only by a wide. Aryan Kumar to bowl the second to Tobias Visée.
ACC vs HBS Craeyenhout 10:58
HBS : 0-0 (0 overs)
At Het Loopveld ACC have won the toss and invited HBS to have a bat.
Rod Lyall 10:48
All silent in Group A so far, which does not bode well for the rest of the day. Fingers crossed!
Excelsior vs Voorburg 10:46
Down at Thurlede the visitors have won the toss and Bas de Leede has invited Exclesior to bat first.
VRA Amsterdam vs Salland 10:44
News from a sunny Amsterdamse Bos is that the hosts have the toss and will bat first. Some selection news too, Reinder Lubbers is out for Salland, currently understood to be enjoying Latin climes, while overseas Justin Gilliland is struggling with visa issues. The German contingent have arrived however, with Ganesan, Barathi, Ahmadi and Gopinath all making the trip over the Eastern border. Eduard Visser makes his VRA debut today, otherwise largely as expected.
Bertus de Jong 10:39
Good Morning all and a pleasure to be back, I’ll be bringing you the latest from the delightful Amsterdamse Bos and keeping a weather eye on goings on at Schiedam too. Do check out our Season Previews if you havn’t already, should have some toss news for you shortly.
Rod Lyall 10:23
The first tosses of the season are about 10 minutes away. We’ll bring you all the news as soon as we have it. I’ll be concentrating on Punjab’s game against newly-promoted Kampong Utrecht, while Bertus is at VRA for their meeting with the other promoted side, Salland. But of course, we’ll keep you up to date with the action from the day’s other three games as well!
Rod Lyall 10:16
We can’t begin without a word about national coach Ryan Campbell, who is in ICU in Stoke-on-Trent after suffering a major heart attack a week ago. We send him all our very best wishes, and also to his family at this very difficult time.
Rod Lyall 10:15
Good morning, everyone, (or afternoon, or evening, depending on where you are), and welcome to TKcricket’s unsurpassed coverage of the start of another Topklasse season! For myself, it seems a little unreal to be doing this on a beautiful Spring morning in the Netherlands, and not in the depths of an autumnal Sydney evening. The KNCB’s gamble of an earlier start to the season seems to have paid off, at least as far as the weather goes.
