Rod Lyall 20:34
So no change at the top of the table as a result of today’s matches, but Dosti move up into fifth place by virtue of their demolition of VOC. Voorburg also move up, but in their case the NRR swing is naturally much smaller. The NRR calculation for HCC and HBS awaits information about exactly when HCC hit the winning runs. At the bottom, VRA lost again, but will derive some comfort from the fact that neither Sparta nor Quick was able to open the gap any further. That’s all from us for today, but you’ll have Sander’s photos and my review of today’s games in due course. And we look forward to bringing you all the action again next week!

Sparta 1888 vs VCC 19:01
VCC 234-8 (59 overs)
Sparta 217-5 (50 overs)
Sparta also lost. Your humble correspondent is fading out in the heat I’m afraid. Stef Mulder cleans up with three wickets at the death. Sparta fall short by 17 runs.

Quick Haag vs Excelsior 18:32
Excelsior : 246-8 (50 overs)
Quick : 168 all out (45.1 overs)
Took a while, but all over now.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe 18:05
NED : 199-6 (20 overs)
ZIM : 150 all out (19.~ overs)
Klaassen finishes it, Seelaar the catcher again.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 18:01
VCC 234-8 (59 overs)
Sparta 158-5 (39 overs)
And the day’s last living game begins to turn VCC’s way as Floyd has Buurman trapped LBW.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe 17:59
NED : 199-6 (20 overs)
ZIM : 118-8 (16.1 overs)
Zimbabwe also collapsing in a heap. Seelaar has Williams smartly stumped for nine, Klaassen does for dangerman Raza and Moor in the 15th, and last recognised bat Ryan Burl falls to Glover on the first ball of the 17th. Game over you’d have to say.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 17:53
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 149 all out (42.4 overs)
And all done here. ACC save themselves a few overs of fielding in this abominable heat by bowling VRA out for 149 inside of 43 overs, Raza cleaning up Graber to finish with figures of 3-25 and closing out an entirely comprehensive win.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 17:52
Excelsior : 246-8 (50 overs)
Quick : 135-8 (35 overs)
Van Troost again! Ekelmans caught and bowled for 25. Groenewald joins Brand.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 17:46
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 129-5 (40.2 overs)
Complete collapse here, as predicted. Raza does for Lees, Gunning lasts 4 balls before being cleaned up by Knoll, Rathore run out, Graber in to join Dasgupta for what’s left of the game.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 17:41
VCC 234-8 (59 overs)
Sparta 142-3 (36 overs)
Voorburg find a much-needed breakthrough, Raza goes for 67 caught off Boissevain.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe 17:39
NED : 199-6 (20 overs)
ZIM : 89-4 (11 overs)
And Glover strikes! Seelaar the man to hold on to it and Ervine’s innings comes to an end for 59, Williams and Raza now for Zimbabwe.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 17:35
HBS 177-9 (50 overs)
HCC 182-6 (34.~ overs)
All over at de Diepput meanwhile, Street unbeaten on 87* and a comfortable win for HCC.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 17:32
Excelsior : 246-8 (50 overs)
Quick : 122-7 (30 overs)
Vierling’s come and gone, caught off Heggelman for 2, and Brand in with Ekelmans now. Match still slouching toward the inevitable. Not a lot of #competitive cricket in the Topklasse this week I’m afraid.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe 17:30
NED : 199-6 (20 overs)
ZIM : 79-3 (9.2 overs)
Fifty for Ervine meanwhile, but Seelaar has Taylor’s wicket for the third time in three matches.
Dosti-United vs VOC 17:26
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 96 all out (26 overs)
Fletcher’s obviously decided (a) that he’s got a sight of the ball and (b) that there’s no point in hanging around indefinitely. He plants Masood onto the korfball court, and when Mahesh Hans replaces Hoseinbaks his first two deliveries go as well, over cow again and then straight. But he tries it once two often, and Masood is there to take the catch in bovine territory, falling backwards and clinging on. Fletcher’s 42 came from 41 deliveries, and included two fours and five sixes. Next ball Hanif tries to follow suit, and can only sky the ball to Asief Hoseinbaks at mid-off. That brings Tizo Moorman in to join Siebe van Wingerden, and off the last ball of Masood’s next he’s brilliantly caught at second slip by Bali, low to his left and essentially behind him. Victories don’t come much more comprehensive than that!
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 17:26
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 129-5 (36 overs)
And probably fair to say the same is true here. Barends takes Szwarczynki’s off stump and he walks off with 44 runs to his name taking VRA’s hopes with him. Dasgupta joins Lees.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 17:18
HBS 177-9 (50 overs)
HCC 172-5 (32 overs)
Bryce Street batting like it’s still arithmetically possible for him to get a ton, which it’s not, or he has somewhere better to be, which he might. He’s on 80-something not out and the game’s as good as done at de Diepput.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe 17:16
NED : 199-6 (20 overs)
ZIM : 53-2 (5 overs)
Craig Ervine showing a very different side of himself at Hazelaarweg meanwhile. Took about an hour to get off the mark on Friday as I recall, right now he’s on 31 off not many and has Zimbabwe well back on track. Brendan Taylor out there with him.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 17:12
Excelsior : 246-8 (50 overs)
Quick : 101-6 (25 overs)
Excelsior looking entirely in charge at Nieuw Hanenburg meanwhile, Mol and Stokkers gone, the former van Troost’s second victim and the latter caught and bowled Ingram. And now Dake goes too, run out by Baker for 6. Ekelmans still there but would take something remarkable to get Quick back into this now.
Dosti-United vs VOC 17:01
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 76-7 (23 overs)
I’ve lost count of the number of times Masood and Hoseinbaks have beaten the bat here; more distinguished batsmen would probably have got an edge and departed long ago. But to be fair, they’re surviving, and Fletcher eventually casts off the shackles to loft Masood over mid-off for four. Two balls later, Hanif has an escape when he’s dropped by Bali at second slip. Fletcher then hoists Hoseinbaks twice for six, one over cow and the other – nearly taking out our intrepid photographer — over midwicket.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe 16:59
NED : 199-6 (20 overs)
ZIM : 16-2 (2.3 overs)
Early wickets for NL, van der Merwe and Glover both strike and Masakadza and Mire’s unhappy tours continue.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 16:58
VCC 234-8 (59 overs)
Sparta 97-1 (20 overs)
Raza and Tarr building a solid platform at Bermweg meanwhile, Voorburg need a breakthrough from somewhere.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 16:56
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 106-5 (29 overs)
Raza gets Turmaine, reaching to sweep and a top edge well held at short midwicket. Lees in at 7. Szwarczynski on 32 and all riding on him now really. Not much batting after that. Cooper much missed it must be said.
Dosti-United vs VOC 16:48
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 55-7 (18 overs)
Fletcher and Hanif are clinging to spars in the midst of the wreckage (to adopt yet another metaphor), and just about keeping their heads above water against Asief Hoseinbaks and Masood. I guess net run rate just might be important at the end of the season, so every hard-won run could be significant.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 16:40
Excelsior : 246-8 (50 overs)
Quick : 77-3 (17 overs)
Stokkers in with Mol now, Brain having been removed by van Troost in the 15th.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 16:36
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 86-4 (23 overs)
And Turmaine has come in to join Szwarczynski, who has some work to do here before he can enjoy his slightly belated 250th game celebrations. He’s into the 20s now and realistically need to ton up for VRA to have a better than evens shot today.
Dosti-United vs VOC 16:33
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 41-7 (13.2 overs)
The implosion continues as Wahid Masood replaces Davids and Schoonheim promptly lofts him to Arief Hoseinbaks at deep mid-on. Since it was Pierce Fletcher who came in at eight, Bobby Hanif now comes in at nine.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe 16:33
NED : 199-6 (20 overs)
A splendid, unbeaten 75* from Roelof van der Merwe has got the Netherlands almost, but not quite, to 200 meanwhile. Good effort from Oranje.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 14:30
HBS 177-9 (50 overs)
HCC 110-4 ( overs)
And de Mey with a caught and bowled to get rid of Gorlee, Overdijk in, game very much on.
Dosti-United vs VOC 16:23
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 41-6 (12.3 overs)
Schoonheim takes a two and a four off Davids, who now has three for 17, but Kamawi holes out to Davids at mid-on off the third ball he faces. The innings is in tatters as Bobby Hanif comes in at eight.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 16:06
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 71-4 (20 overs)
ACC come back hard after drinks, van den Burg and Borren fall insuccession.
Dosti-United vs VOC 16:21
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 35-5 (11 overs)
Rutgers stays around long enough to tarnish Davids’ figures just a little, but then he hits Asief Hoseinbaks, who has replaced Bali, into the hands of the last-named at cover point. Nomen Kamawi joins Schoonheim, with Dosti pushing for a quick victory.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 14:20
HBS 177-9 (50 overs)
HCC 73-3 (15 overs)
Bit of a recovery for HCC after a nightmare start, but they’ve lost Wiffen, caught and bowled Khan. Street and Gorlee in, 73-3 at drinks.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 16:1
Excelsior : 246-8 (50 overs)
Quick : 58-2 (10 overs)
And it is the man of the hour, none other than Sohail Bhatti, who takes Bista’s wicket with his very first ball, holding a tough low chance off his own bowling.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 16:06
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 49-2 (16 overs)
Meanwhile it;s drinks here at the Bos, with Szwarczynski and vd Burg rebuilding after the double early shock.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe 16:01
NED : 137-4 (15 overs)
And for those of you wondering what’s going on at Hazelaarweg given cricinfo’s abject failure, we’re told Wes Barresi and Roelof vd Merwe are building on the good work of Ben Cooper (54), and the Dutch are on course for a solid score unless ZIM can find some wickets.
Dosti-United vs VOC 15:55
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 16-4 (5.3 overs)
Davids sends Van Baren’s off stump flying as he swings and misses. Dave Mullett in at five. And lasts two deliveries, an unsuccessful appeal for leg-before followed by an even more insistent and successful one. Jelte Schoonheim joins Rutgers.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 15:53
VCC 234-8 (59 overs)
Spara 25-1 (5 overs)
Sparta have lost Singh early, No word on who’s in now. My guess would be Fletcher and Tarr, maybe de Kok.
Dosti-United vs VOC 15:47
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 12-2 (3.2 overs)
Said survives a couple of big leg-before appeals, pads one fine for four leg-byes, and off the next is given LBW. VOC in early trouble, as Rutgers joins Van Baren.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 14:45
Excelsior : 246-8 (50 overs)
Quick : 21-1 (3 overs)
Excelsior have an early wicket, but it’s not the one they need. Bob van Gigch gone, Brain joins Jay “The Game” Bista, who’s on 14.
Dosti-United vs VOC 15:37
Dosti: 312-4 (50 overs)
VOC: 2-1 (1 over)
A perfect start for Dosti and for Bali, bowling from the Amstel Station End. Seb van Lent, having run down the wicket to the second ball and edged for a couple to fine leg, pulls the fourth to deep midwicket, where Arief Hoseinbaks runs in and dives forward to hold onto the catch. They crossed, so Van Baren sees out the over, with Ashiqullah Said to face Davids from the other end.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 15:27
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 17-2 (7 overs)
And another, Lake’s miserable season continues. Trappoed in front for 6. Szwarczynski in.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 15:20
HBS 177-9 (50 overs)
HCC 11-2 (4 overs)
Not a great start for HCC either, Itagi cleaned up by Westdijk first ball, now Tonny Staal, caught and bowled Gibson.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 15:10
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 5-1 (2 overs)
Early breakthrough for ACC, Singh caught off Barends in the first over. Had my head down I’m sorry to say, but am told it was a “stupid shot” and he’s “very cross”. Lake joins van den Burgh. Arya from the Mulders end.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 14:59
VCC 234-8 (59 overs)
VCC finish on 234-8. Further details elusive.
Dosti-United vs VOC 14:50
Dosti: 313-4 (50 overs)
Ahmed and Davids finish it off, seeing Dosti to the highest total of the season so far. Ahmed ends on 35 from 29, Davids on 20 from 19. 79 came from those last ten overs. Van Baren and Hanif really the pick of the VOC bowlers, and the fielders stuck to the task extremely well on a very, very warm day.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 14:45
Excelsior : 246-8 (50 overs)
Shankar serves up something of a flourish in the final overs though, Excelsior finish on a competitive-looking 246-8.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 14:33
Excelsior : 218-7 (46.2 overs)
Excelsior also accelerating into a wall of wickets, Heggleman run out for 69 and opens the floodgates. Collapse from 192-2 to 218 for 7.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 14:28
VCC 202-7 (45 overs)
Floyd bowled for 35 as Sparta fight back, 200 up for Voorburg though with 40-odd runs having come from the last five overs.
Dosti-United vs VOC 14:22
Dosti: 260-4 (44 overs)
And they do better than that, Kohli smartly caught at extra cover by Corey Rutgers off Van Baren for 75. Anees Davids in for the final flourish.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 14:20
HBS 177-9 (50 overs)
Flurry of wickets at the death meanwhile, including two run outs in the final over, sees HBS stumble to 177-9 at the break.
Dosti-United vs VOC 14:18
Dosti: 255-3 (43 overs)
Dosti set for the big finish, with Kohli now on 72 and Ahmed happily pushing the ball around to keep him on strike. Van Baren and Hanif have the unenviable task of trying to keep them quiet.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 14:12
ACC : 230-4 (50 overs)
VRA have stuck at their task well after Mulready and Marais got ACC off to a brisk start. More discipline than penetration but they’ve kept ACC to something chaseable. Graber and Borren good at the death too, and a perfect throw from deep midwicket from Matt Lake earns a round of applause and the wicket of Raza, admittedly rather too late to make a difference. 230 a shade over par today you’d say, but ACC missing tehir lead wicket taker today of course, balancing the absence of Cooper perhaps.
Dosti-United vs VOC 14:04
Dosti: 228-3 (39 overs)
Singh plants another Van Wingerden delivery over the fence, but then he swings across the line and is bowled, giving a first Topklasse wicket to the 15-year-old. Rahil Ahmed in at five.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 13:59
Excelsior : 138-2 (40 overs)
And Groenewalf finally breaks the partnership, Ingram goes for 87. Heggelman still there on 60* with ten overs to go, Parchment joins him.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 13:58
ACC : 207-4 (47 overs)
Turmaine finally removes Marais, trapped in front looking for the slog-reverse-sweep. He goes for 102 off 133. Raza in for the death.
Dosti-United vs VOC 13:55
Dosti: 219-2 (38 overs)
Who wouldn’t fancy coming in at 195 for two with fifteen overs left? Singh clearly does, and when young Siebe van Wingerden bowls a first, otherwise very tidy over, he hoists the final delivery onto the korfball court. He then smacks a square boundary off the returning Said, while in between Kohli has clocked up another half-century. And promptly calls for a heavier bat. That should worry VOC.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 13:53
ACC : 201-3 (46 overs)
Marais brings up his maiden Topklasse century flicking Borren square off the pads for a single, after what the scorers are convinced was Rathore’s 11th over. ACC’s 200 is brought up in the same over, four more to go to rack up the runs.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 13:43
VCC 145-4 (36 overs)
Both Smits back in the box meanwhile, Floyd and Gigani in for VCC.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 13:40
HBS 134-5 (42 overs)
Another down at de Diepput as HBS struggle to accelerate, Ahmed run out for 21.
Dosti-United vs VOC 13:35
Dosti: 195-2 (34.2 overs)
Hanif and Fletcher back into the attack, and it’s the former who gets the breakthrough as Bali chases one outside off stump and edges through to Van Lent. He goes for 135, made from 118 deliveries with 16 fours and five sixes. Just as he was moving into Bista territory. Amitoze Singh joins Kohli who’s on 46.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 13:29
ACC : 165-3 (39 overs)
Rathore finds VRA’s third.Bas van der Heyde, who’d looked in pretty good nick on Topklasse return, falls victim to a little exta bounce as he looks to cut and top edges through to Lees. Barends in to join Marais, who’s looking dead set for a ton, currently on 82*.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 13:17
VCC 103-3 (28 overs)
Sparta chipping away at the VCC line-up, Croes run out and now de Grooth caught behind for 44. Gigani in.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 13:17
Excelsior : 121-1 (30 overs)
Heggelman and Ingram still going well for Excelsior, hundred partnership up for the second wicket.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 13:12
HBS 110-4 (36 overs)
Double strike for Street. First he does for Singh, mistimed to mid off where Walhain takes the catch, then nicks off Gomes three balls later.
Dosti-United vs VOC 13:05
Dosti: 148-1 (27 overs)
And Bali races to his century, lofting Rutgers almost into the korfball court to reach 103, from 94 deliveries with thirteen fours and three sixes. A comparatively restrained Kohli is on 32 from 59, and the stand has extended to 133.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 13:03
Excelsior : 104-1 (27 overs)
Hundred up for Exclesior in the 27th, and fifty for Ingram. Hegglelman still with him.
Dosti-United vs VOC 12:53
Dosti: 127-1 (25 overs)
Things are beginning to look extremely ominous for VOC. Schoonheim is ringing the changes with his attack, but Bali is now on 84, made at exactly a run a ball, with Kohli on 30. Dirk van Baren operating from the Amstel Station End, while at the other Tizo Moorman has bowled a couple and has been replaced by Corey Rutgers, whose first costs 14, six of them from a massive pull over wide long on.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 12:52
ACC : 120-2 (30 overs)
Another much-needed wicket here, though not the most-needed one. Sikander on the sweep, misses and pinned in front by Turmaine. none other than Bas van der Heyde comes in to join Marais, who’s on 58*. And Gunning’s back.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 12:42
HBS 75-2 (26 overs)
HBS lose their second, Zac Elkin falling victim to Ollie Klaus and an excellent catch from Overdijk, gone for 34. Ahmed joins Navjeet Singh, who’s on 25*
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 12:35
ACC : 105-1 (26 overs)
And a breakthrough they get! Rathore bowls Mulready round his legs, Sikander in to join Marais, who’s one short of fifty now.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 12:30
ACC : 101-0 (25 overs)
Hundred up for ACC meanwhile, Mulready 35*, Marais 48*, extras doing the rest, Gunning having been particularly erratic. Breakthrough very much needed here.
Dosti-United vs VOC 12:27
Dosti: 82-1 (18 overs)
Kohli produces an exquisitely-timed straight drive off Hanif which races to the sightscreen. That’s matched in the next over from Nomen Kamawi, who’s replaced Fletcher at the Amstel Station End. Bali, who’s flown under the radar until now as Dosti’s fifth overseas player, proceeds to take the rest of the over apart, hammering a full toss through mid-on for another four, and then reaching a maiden Topklasse half-century with a pull for six. It’s taken 59 deliveries, and included six fours and that six.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 11:12
Excelsior : 50-1 (17 overs)
Fifty up for Exclesior meanwhile, still Heggelmam and Ingram.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 12:09
ACC : 76-0 (17 overs)
First hint of a chance here as Muldeady lofts Borren toward Turmaine at mid off. looks to have dropped just short though as he dives over it. Still Prathore at the other end, Mulready on 27* now, Marais 30*.
Dosti-United vs VOC 11:59
Dosti: 48-1 (13 overs)
They’ve built an extra drinks break in at Drieburg, in view of the arrival at last of the summer. Bobby Hanif has meanwhile replaced Said at the Korfbal Court End, Bali revealing what he thinks by dispensing with his helmet in favour of a cap. Sooooooo twentieth-century. He continues to do most of the scoring, with Kohli seemingly intent on building a big innings here.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 11:57
VCC 50-1 (12 overs)
First down at Bermweg, Smit trapped LBW though we’re not sure who’s responsible. Croes in.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 11:57
ACC : 70-0 (15 overs)
Marais and Mulready motoring along nicely here, VRA’s attack looking about as penetrating as a clod of wet toilet paper thrown at a blast wall. Rathore replaces Turmaine.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 11:44
VCC 41-0 (10 overs)
Matt Smit and Tom de Grooth making steady progress for VCC meanwhile.
Dosti-United vs VOC 11:41
Dosti: 31-1 (8 overs)
Kohli watchful as ever, with Bali producing a nice square cut for four off birthday boy Fletcher. It’s mainly Bali who’s keeping the scoreboard ticking over, though Fletcher ties him down with a maiden over as well.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 11:40
ACC : 39-0 (10 overs)
Marais and Mulready still for ACC, few alarms for them as yet. Turmaine and Borren have taken over from Graber and Gunning meanwhile. You’ll all be relieved to hear the coffee machine is working again too.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 11:33
HBS 24-1 (8 overs)
And first down at de Diepput too, Coster pinned LBW by Damhuis with a rather fine Yorker we’re told.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 11:32
Excelsior : 21-1 (6 overs)
Etman and Heggelman opening for Excelsior meanwhile. Or rather they were/ First wicket down, Etman gone and Ingram in.
Dosti-United vs VOC 11:23
Dosti : 15-1 (4 overs)
After some exploratory arm-wrestling, marked only by a couple of momentary run-out half-possibilities, Tewarie skies Fletcher to midwicket, where Bobby Hanif’s the safe pair of hands. Taruwar Kohli joins Bali.
VRA vs ACC Amsterdam 11:15
ACC : 14-0 (4 overs)
I arrive, slightly delayed, at VRA to discover the visitors have won the toss and decided to bat. They’re missing skipper Saqib today who’s on national duty, as well as his brother Rehmat, Potdar, Rasool and a handful of others, who have reportedly gone to England to catch some of the World Cup. Not clear if this counts as Competitievervalsing too. Mulrady and Marais opening for ACC, Gunning and Graber share the new ball.
Dosti-United vs VOC 11:10
Dosti: 5-0 (1 over)
Ashiqullah Said starts from the Korfbal Court End, bowling to Vinoo Tewarie, who has put theory into practice by promoting himself to open. Quite an eventful opening: a single to fine leg off the first ball; a wide; no ball pulled behind square by Abhinav Bali; the free hit hammered to mid-off and caught. Pierce Fletcher to bowl from the Amstel Station End.
Dosti-United vs VOC 10:48
The VOC replacements for Seelaar, Edwards and O’Dowd are Dave Mullett, Tizo Moorman and 15-year-old debutant Siebe van Wingerden. As indicated in our preview, it’s Jelte Schoonheim who takes over the captaincy from Seelaar.
HCC vs HBS Craeyenhout 10:45
And HBS will be batting first at de Diepput at their hosts’ invitation.
Sparta 1888 vs VCC 10:44
VCC reckon it’s a fine morning for a bat too, and so they will.
Dosti-United vs VOC 10:37
It does, however, mean that an improvised VOC side will be spared any threat of repeating the fate their team suffered in 2016, when they were dismissed for 17 – the lowest top-flight total this millennium – in match which lasted less than fourteen overs and was all over in an hour. It’s mainly the VOC batting which has been depleted by the three absences on international duty, but it’s the attack which will have a trundle against a Dosti line-up from which Kuldeep Diwan is still absent.
☼ Weather ☼ 10:37
Nice day for it. Get along to a game if you can.
Quick Haag vs Excelsior 10:36
And the word from Nieuw Hanenburg is that Excelsior have the toss and will bat.
Dosti-United vs VOC 10:35
The somewhat surprising news from Sportpark Drieburg is that Vinoo Tewarie has won the toss – not in itself surprising – and elected to bat. It’s a beautiful day, he says, and great weather to have a bat. Which is undoubtedly true.
Bertus de Jong 10:28
Good morning all and welcome back for the first round of the second half of this 2019 Topklasse season. All back with their original partners as the merry dance continues. Merrier for some than other of course, the most notably unmerry being VRA, who I’ll bring you news of as they try to wrest a second win from ACC in the Amsterdam Derby. They’ll be doing so without Ben Cooper of course as we’ve a nigh-unheard of national fixture clash decimating the Topklasse today – details as ever in the preview. Sander and Rod meanwhile are across the water at Drieburg today where Dosti welsome a much-depleted VOC, while our little birds will hopefully be chirping from de Diepput, Bermweg and Nieuw Hanenburg as well. Toss news momentarily…
