Topklasse Live | Round 11 | As it Happened

 Bertus de Jong  18:55
By clinging on to close out a thriller at Hazelaarweg VRA have closed the gap at the bottom of the table, with the rest of the bottom six all losing. So six teams within 4 points of the relegation zone now, while the top four pull still further ahead. ACC and Excelsior neck and neck as things stand, while HCC are less than one win behind. HBS keep themselves in contention too, while the six-point gap between them and the pack looks close to unbridgeable at this point.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  18:48
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 263-7 (50 overs)
And all over, as it had been since the Bukhari wicket really. Great showing from HBS and Westdijk especially with the ball. Sparta have reason to worry now, though the bottom half of the table is pretty packed and VRA remain relegation favourites, today has put the bottom spot very much in play.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  18:41
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 244-7 (47 overs)
Westdijk again, Saleem caught Barresi. 55 needed off the final three. Would take some hitting you have to say.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  18:31
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 244-7 (47 overs)
Westdijk again, Saleem caught Barresi. 55 needed off the final three. Would take some hitting you have to say.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  18:22
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 236-6 (45.1 overs)
Singh gone, bowled Gibson, all looking rather inevitable of a sudden.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  18:18
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 229-5 (44.2 overs)
Scratch that, Bukhari caught behind off Coster for 87. Singh joins Buurman but you’d think that’s the game…

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  18:17
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 228-4 (44 overs)
Sparta still in this, but would be a herculean effort. 71 needed from the last six overs.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  18:14
HCC : 201 all out (48.~ overs)
Dosti: 157 all out (? overs)
All over at de Diepput too, though again details are scarce. Itagi returns to claim the final wicket, bags his five-fer and Dosti all out for 157.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  18:10
VRA : 290-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 279-9 (50 overs)
16 needed off the last over. They get four and two wickets. Ben Cooper the unlikely hero with the ball and a desperately-needed two points for VRA.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  18:08
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 212-4 (42 overs)
Sparta still fighting. They’ll believe so long as Bukhari’s at the crease.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  18:02
VRA : 290-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 275-7 (49 overs)
16 needed off the last over.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  17:59
HCC : 201 all out (48.~ overs)
Dosti: 153-8 (44 overs)
Ahmed fighting on, he’s on 39* now but the task at hand is all but would take a heroic effort from here..

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  17:58
VRA : 290-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 264-7 (47.2 overs)
Apologies to Scott Edwards, who I have apparently just brutally jinxed. He falls for 91. Ashiqullah in.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  17:51
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 187-4 (38.5 overs)
Tarr gone for 83, caught behind and it’s Westdijk again.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  17:54
VRA : 290-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 263-6 (47 overs)
VRA have lost a run off the total somewhere, which will help VOC, but they’ve lost two more wickets. Edwards is still there though and looks in a finishing mood. 28 needed off the last three overs.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  17:51
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 185-3 (38 overs)
Our informant clarifies: Bukhari is on the charge and has raced to 59*. Tarr still there on 82*. 12ish overs to get 114 runs.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  17:46
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 175-? (? overs)
Meanwhile at Craeyenhout Bukhari is cutting loose. Tarr still there and into the 80s. Bukhari’s close to fifty off not many. Details extremely vague but sounds like it’s game on.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  1743
HCC : 201 all out (48.~ overs)
Dosti: 140-8 (40.4 overs)
Dosti faltering now, Itagi bags three in a row in a clatter of wickets and of a sudden they’re 8 down and still 61 adrift. Rahil Ahmed still there in the 30s but running out of partners.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  17:40
VRA : 291-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 243-4 (43.2 overs)
Seelaar falls seven short of a century, but he’s got his side within reach of the win. 49 needed off 40, Schoonheim joins Edwards, who’s on 81*.

 Bertus de Jong  17:35
By request of our lovely hosts here at ACC, a quick reminder that there’s just two weeks to go before the ACC kids’ 3-day cricket summer camp. Sign-ups are open now, details here.

 Excelsior vs VCC  17:30
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 102 all out (30.2 overs)
Having reached a fine, fighting half-century, Nic Smit deflects a Ingram delivery over slip, where Parchment leaps like a superannuated salmon and pulls off a great catch. He’s given out, although as he departs for 52 he makes it clear he believes it hit him on the arm, well clear of the glove. Stef Mulder comes in, and is trapped in front first ball. So it’s all over, and Excelsior win by 90 runs, maintaining their neck-and-neck race with ACC.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  17:24
VRA : 291-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 210-3 (39.2 overs)
Seelaar and Edwards meanwhile look set to hammer another nail into VRA’s top-flight coffin. They’re on 79* and 67*, 150 partnership looming and looking well on target to chase these down. VRA in desperate need of a wicket, as usual.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  17:19
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
ACC : 165-5 (36.4 overs)
A second for van Gigch as Mulready pops one back to him for a simple return catch. Barends in, some comedy overthrows level the scores, and a wide to finish.

 Excelsior vs VCC  17:17
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 98-8 (27.5 overs)
Heggelman brings himself back, and then brings the ball back as well, beating Glover’s bat and hitting the stumps. David Humphrey the penultimate batsman, Smit one short of a half-century.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  17:16
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 138-3 (31 overs)
Sparta at 138-3 after 31. No further details.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  17:14
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
ACC : 161-3 (36 overs)
Almost done here meanwhile, Rehmat doesn’t have space for a century any more though. Brand bags a consolation wicket as Sikander is given LBW and makes his unhurried way off to be replaced by Mulready. Rehmat on 84*.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  17:08
HCC : 201 all out (48.~ overs)
Dosti: 112-4 (31 overs)
Hundred up for Dosti meanwhile, game very much in the balance with Dosti almost exactly at DLS par, not that there’s any rain threatening.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  17:01
VRA : 291-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 150-3 (31 overs)
Seelaar and Edwards look to have the chase well in hand, about where they’d want to be with 19 to go on 39* and 48* respectively.

 Excelsior vs VCC  16:59
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 80-7 (23.3 overs)
Kingma doesn’t last long, snicking Van Troost to Verhagen and leaving without adding to the score. Smit’s now on 36, with Glover out there to keep him company. Just a mtter of time though now.

 Excelsior vs VCC  16:50
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 72-6 (21.3 overs)
Another one goes, as Boissevain holes out to Heggelman at mid-off from Van Troost’s bowling. Viv Kingma in to join Nic Smit, who’s on 34 now. The writing appears to be on the stonework for Voorburg.

VVV’s record-breaking total and its architects. Photo: Mohsin Ghaznavi

 Bertus de Jong  16:42
We have some details for you on VVV’s record-breaking exploits in the Hoofdklasse. 534-3 was the final total racked up against the hapless Dosti 2nds. Former Pakistan international Rafatullah Momand was in fact the man with the colossal double ton – 255* to be exact. Sahibzada Farhan and Paras Dogra both hit tons too, 109 and 110 respectively. And the total is indeed a record in the 2nd division, the scores of 713-1 and 815-0 recorded by HCC1 and Gandhi CC during the 1994 silliness having been duly expunged from the record books.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  16:39
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
ACC : 128-3 (27 overs)
Bob van Gigch with the belated breakthrough, denying them the 100 partnership as Rasool is caught behind for 28.Saqib joins brother Rehmat, who’s on 67, but not for long as he’s run out by Bista two balls later. Sikander in.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  16:27
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 74-3 (19 overs)
De Mey breaks the partnership, Fletcher caught behind and hard to see Sparta getting close from here.

 Excelsior vs VCC  16:21
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 49-5 (15.3 overs)
Nic Smit and Clayton Floyd battling hard, now against Sohail Bhatti and Rens van Troost. They have to be ultra-careful . . . and that’s enough to get Floyd lashing out at a Van Troost delivery and hitting it high to Niels Etman at cover. Precisely what Voorburg did NOT need, and Boissevain comes out to join Smit, on 22.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  16:15
VRA : 291-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 95-3 (20 overs)
VOC still ticking along at a decent rate, but this is a crucial partnership for them. Seelaar and Edwards both on 18*.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  16:13
HCC : 201 all out (48.~ overs)
Dosti: 73-3 (18 overs)
Ali Ahmed gets the big wicket right after drinks, Kohli caught Staal at first slip for 15.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  16:11
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
ACC : 103-1 (21 overs)
Hundred up in the 20th over, still van Schelven at the Amstel end operating with in partnership with Diwan.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  16:07
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 51-2 (14 overs)
Tarr and Fletcher rebuilding for Sparta meanwhile, 50 up in the 14th.

 Bertus de Jong  16:02
We can at least confirm that VVV’s total is the highest in the Hoofdklasse against an uncooperating opposition, behind only HCC1 vs HCC2 and Ghandi vs Pak Success in the notorious runs-for-fun NRR slog-off of 1994.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  15:58
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
ACC : 89-1 (18 overs)
Zulfiqar is teeing off here meanwhile, has put van Schelven well bakc over midwicket in consecutive overs, now brings up his fifty putting Diwan into the bushes at cow. Drinks here and ACC cruising.

 Excelsior vs VCC  15:55
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 27-4 (9.6 overs)
And two balls later he, too, departs, bowled by Heggelman, who now has three for 9. Clayton Floyd in at six.

 Excelsior vs VCC  15:53
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 27-3 (9.4 overs)
This time there’s no doubt, as an audible nick through to the keeper gets the umpire’s nod. Croes goes, to be succeeded by Floris de Lange.

 Bertus de Jong  15:52
Well we don’t often have time for Hoofdklasse news here, regrettably understaffed as we are, but this is worth a mention. VVV have just racked up a monster total of 532 against Dosti 2, Paras Dogra recording a monster of a double century. Will try to get hold of some more details for you.

 Excelsior vs VCC  15:47
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 19-2 (8 overs)
Noah Croes and Nic Smit setting about the rebuilding exercise, though the latter survives an absolutely massive – and unanimous – appeal for caught behind off Heggelman, only the umpire dissenting. But he is, after all, the one who matters..

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  15:45
VRA : 291-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 63-3 (12.~ overs)
Van Baren doesn’t last long, Seelaar in to join O’Dowd, and as I type word comes that O’Dowd too has gone, caught behind off Gunning for 27. Big wicket that.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  15:38
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
ACC : 55-1 (13 overs)
Fifty up here meanwhile, Zulfiqar on 25* and Rasool on 8. Van Schelven and Brand bowling now.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  15:35
VRA : 291-5 (50 overs)
VOC : 55-1 (10 overs)
The in-form O’Dowd has VOC off to a solid start, he’s on 25* and has just been joined by van Baren.

 Excelsior vs VCC  15:31
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 13-2 (4.2 overs)
And one brings two as De Grooth flashes at a lifting Parchment delivery and Ingram takes the catch to his left at second slip. Nic Smit joins Croes, with Excelsior seriously up.

 Excelsior vs VCC  15:28
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 13-1 (3.4 overs)
Matt Smit’s bad run continues, as he drives Heggelman uppishly to cover and Niels Etman clings onto the catch. He wasn’t yet off the mark. Noah Croes in early.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  15:17
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
Sparta 2-2 (0.5 overs)
Berend Westdjik meanwhile gets HBS off to an even better start, striking twice in his first over to remove de Kok and Raza.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  13:15
HCC : 201 all out (48.~ overs)
Dosti: 26-1 (5.4 overs)
Street has HCC off to a good start defending 201, striking in his third over, Ahmed the catcher, though our sources declined to identify the victim..

 Excelsior vs VCC  13:14
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
VCC: 1-0 (1 over)
They’re back on at Thurlede, with Remco van Bochove subbing for Tim Etman. Parchment opens from the Scoreboard End to Tom de Grooth. Excitement off the second bll, as Matt Smit comes looking another imaginary single, the throw missing as he struggles back. Just a single off the over. Heggelman from the City End.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  15:12
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
ACC : 31-1 (7 overs)
Big appeal for caught behind as Marais looks to turn Dake off his hip, definite noise but Marais an the vocal ACC crowd are convinced it’s off the thigh pad. Umpires in conference and given. Marais visibly unhappy, but not as unhappy as the home fans, who make their displeasure clear in strident terms. Rasool in.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  14:50
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
ACC : 4-0 (1 over)
And we’re back here, Marais and Rehmat for ACC, Dake and Bista sharing the new ball. Marais off the mark with a fine on-drive off Dake for a hard-run three, attempted leg glance goes for a leg bye.

Bukhari bowls Coster at the death Photo: HBS twitter/@puntje

 Excelsior vs VCC  14:32
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
The conventional wisdom here is that 180 is a good score at Thurlede, and so the home side may be reasonably happy to have got past that. Conditions until now have favoured batting, but it’s clouding over, the cool front has arrived, and it may be that, the other side of the pasta and fabulous fruit salad, Voorburg will have a battle on their hands against the Excelsior attack.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  14:30
HBS : 298-7 (50 overs)
With the help of a more-than handy cameo from Zak Gibson HBS get almost, but not quite, to the 300 mark.

 Excelsior vs VCC  14:27
Excelsior : 192 all out (48.4 overs)
Niels Etman is trapped in front as Kingma returns, and then we get a Komedy Klassic as Etman turns a high full toss to midwicket, Umar Baker looks for an imaginary second and is run out by the length of the pitch. Rens van Troost comes in, takes a single, and is bowled by Glover. Etman rides his luck, snicking Glover hard to the boundary. Kingma, no doubt looking for the yorker, bowls a succession of full tosses, then gets it right and demolishes Etman’s stumps.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  14:23
VRA : 291-5 (50 overs)
VRA finish up on 291-5 in the end, details to follow…

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  14:13
HBS : 260-4 (46 overs)
Bukhari bowls Barresi for 68, Sparta doing well to contain HBS at the back end of the innings.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  14:12
HCC : 201 all out (48.~ overs)
HCC stumbled through the death meanwhile, 7 wickets falling in the space of ten overs as they scrape past the 200-mark.

 Excelsior vs VCC  14:10
Excelsior : 178-6 (46 overs)
A lot of self-inflicted damage by Voorburg here, with batches of five wides, one at each end, and a wild overthrow which gets Tim Etman back on strike when they really need to starve him as much as they can. 14 and 12 off the last two overs.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  14:07
Quick : 164-9 (50 overs)
A fine late flurry from van Scheleven and Mol (aided by a couple of drops) gets them to 164, the latter finishing unbeaten on 70*.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  14:03
HBS : 242-3 (44 overs)
Barresi and Ahmed now for HBS, the former on 60* and ten an over needed for 300.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  14:00
VRA : 263-3 (47 overs)
Borren out for 82 lbw on the reverse sweep off Seelaar. Van den Burg 116* as Lees joins him.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  13:59
Quick : 151-9 (49 overs)
Barends bags the five-fer. Dake caught behind, Brain clean bowled (in that order, bit of a mix up in the batting order earlier.) Van Schelven joins Mol who’s on 59* but hasn’t seen much of the strike.

 Excelsior vs VCC  13:57
Excelsior : 151-6 (42.6 overs)
Heggelman chops Boissevain into his stumps, and now we have Etmans at both ends, Niels having joined big brother Tim at the crease.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  13:55
VRA : 253-2 (45 overs)
The runs continue to come as Seelaar cycles wildly through his options. Everybody but young Seb van Lent has had a bowl now…

 Excelsior vs VCC  13:51
Excelsior : 145-5 (41.2 overs)
Woutersen’s enterprising little innings comes to an end as he’s trapped in front by Floyd. Tom Heggelman joins Etman, and Excelsior still have a lot of work to do.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  13:50
Quick : 143-7 (47 overs)
Immediate reward for Barends as he induces Brand to play on, Brain joins Mol who’s on to 58* and deploying the ramp to good effect. Has got Quick something to bowl at at least.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  13:46
VRA : 238-3 (43 overs)
Van den Burg and Borren still and 7 overs to go. 300 still on you’d say though it will take some hitting. they’re on 113* and 64* respectively.

 Excelsior vs VCC  13:44
Excelsior : 134-4 (39.3 overs)
Kroesen makes to cut Floyd, and Noah Croes takes a sharp catch behind the stumps. He made 38 from 49 deliveries. And that’s the cue for the return of Tim Etman.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  13:43
HBS : 208-3 (38.4 overs)
200 up for HBS, but finally the breakthrough comes, second run-out of the innings and Elkin gone for 70.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  13:42
Quick : 141-6 (46 overs)
Mol brings up an otherwise dogged half century with a flick over the shoulder off Sikander for four, Brand still with him on 14. Barends returns.

 Excelsior vs VCC  13:40
Excelsior : 131-3 (38 overs)
The tempo is now clearly increasing, mainly due to Joost Kroesen, who has played some great shots on his way to 37 off 45 deliveries. He’s been particularly tough on Boissevain, but Floyd has also come in for his share of punishment.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  13:40
HCC : 159-5 (41 overs)
Wickets falling at de Diepput now as HCC look to kick on, Street goes for 64 top-edging a sweep, and Overdijk caught at cover.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  13:33
VRA : 209-2 (39 overs)
Van den Burg brings up his century with a six over midwicket off Rutgers. Borren still there on 48*.

 Excelsior vs VCC  13:27
Excelsior : 109-3 (34 overs)
Kroesen and Woutersen make it through to the second drinks break, both batting fairly confidently against Boissevain, Glover, and now Floyd. But Excelsior need them to bat for another ten overs or so, although it seems that Etman may well be intending to return at some stage.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  13:23
HBS : 181-2 (35 overs)
Elkin and Barresi still for HBS, on 59* and 23* respectively at drinks.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  13:22
HCC : 138-3 (38 overs)
Fifty for Street, Gorlee still with him on 9*, but HCC need to find some acceleration now…

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  13:19
VRA : 177-2 (35 overs)
Borren and van den Burg continue to make hay, 34* and 84* respectively. Big score on the cards at Hazelaarweg too.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  13:18
Quick : 118-6 (40 overs)
Brand and Mol looking to salvage something from the innings meanwhile, Vierling stumped off Raza some time ago. Mol closing in on a half-century but He’ll have to bat through if Quick are to get anything defensible on the board.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  13:13
HBS : 167-2 (30 overs)
Fifty for Zac Elkin meanwhile and HBS on for a big 300+ total from here you’d think.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  13:12
VRA : 167-2 (33 overs)
Borren ends Seelaar’s over with 4 over mid-off, moving to 27*. Van den Burg still there on 81* as Scott Edwards enters the attack.

 Excelsior vs VCC  13:04
Excelsior : 80-3 (27.5 overs)
That’s a massive blow by Viv Kingma, who has replaced Matt Smit. Parchment swings a short ball hard and high, but straight down the throat of Matt Smit himself, now fielding on the fine leg boundary. David Woutersen in at six, since Excelsior may (or may not) effectively be four down.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  13:02
HCC : 119-3 (32 overs)
HCC lose another as Staal cuts into the hands of point, Gorlee joins Street who’s up to 38* now.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  12:56
Quick : 101-5 (33 overs)
Hundred finally up for Quick in the 33rd, Vierling in with Mol and Quick a long way from a competitive score. Saqib is at least bowled out though having taken 3-28 from his ten.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  12:53
HBS : 139-2 (26 overs)
And Snoep breaks the partneraship, Gomes caught Hoornweg for 42.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  12:46
HCC : 94-2 (27 overs)
Street and Staal accumulating steadily at de Diepput, both into the 20s.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  12:44
VRA : 124-2 (25 overs)
Cooper gone, caught down the leg side off van Baren for 19. Borren in at 4.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  12:43
HBS : 125-1 (23 overs)
Elkin and Gomes still for HBS, they’re on 38* and 31* respectivelt and with plenty of batting to come the Crows have a platform for a big score here.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  12:41
Quick : 88-5 (27 overs)
Run rate had slowed to a crawl since Saqib’s double-strike, Mol and Diwan cautiousness itself, but the latter gets one with his name on it. Just on that dubious length from Saqib and Diwan reaching forward for it, but doens’t get to the pitch, turns and takes the edge, Marais does the rest. Wicket maiden and after going for 20 off his first 4 overs Saqib’s figures after 8 are 3-22. Vierling joins Mol.

 Excelsior vs VCC  12:41
Excelsior : 62-2 (23.5 overs)
At last the breakthrough comes, and it’s a big wicket! Three half-chances have gone down at slip, but this time De Grooth makes no mistake as Ingram edges Matt Smit, who replaced Floyd immediately after that six. He departs for 23, to be replaced by Brenton Parchment. He takes a single, and then Verhagen goes exactly the same way, for 24. Joost Kroesen in now, and Excelsior suddenly in trouble.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  12:30
VRA : 112-1 (22 overs)
Hundred up for VRA too, Cooper’s arrival has signalled some acceleration. He’s swiftly on to 17*, van den Burg on 58*.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  12:28
HBS : 110-1 (18 overs)
Elkin and Gomes still ticking along nicely for HBS, three figures up and still just the 18th over, Sparta may need to think about upping the over rate a tad there.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  12:22
VRA : 85-1 (20 overs)
Breakthrough at Hazelaarweg courtesy a spectacular catch from Seelaar off the bowling of Said. Cooper joins van den Burg who brings up his first fifty of the season.

 Excelsior vs VCC  12:21
Excelsior : 49-0 (19 overs)
Drinks fail to take their customary wicket, and indeed, Ingram lofts the final delivery of Floyd’s first over after the break over the rope at midwicket.. Mulder keeps it tight at the other end, but Verhagen and Ingram are building a useful platform here.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  12:21
Quick : 80-4 (21 overs)
Break brings a breakthrough, albeit 2 overs delayed. Top edge off Saqib and van Gigch caught for 45. Stokkers in. And Stokkers out, Saqib holds a tough return catch and Quick are four down. Diwan in.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  12:11
Quick : 69-2 (18 overs)
Drinks here meanwhile and Van Gigch looking increasingly dangerous, just launch Saqib over long off for his second six of the innings, moves to 39. Mol still with him on 15.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  12:10
HBS : 92-1 (15 overs)
The scoring rate has dipped appreciably following the departure of Visée, as it usually does. Elkin and Gomes still building steadily though.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  12:06
HCC : 45-2 (16 overs)
HCC lose another, Wiffen gone for 19 and Street in to join Staal. No word on who’s got the wickets though.

 Excelsior vs VCC  12:06
Excelsior : 37-0 (15 overs)
And De Grooth makes a double bowling change, Stef Mulder replacing Kingma and Clayton Floyd on for Glover. It doesn’t produce any immediate change in tempo, though: indeed, Mulder bowls the first maiden of the innings, to a watchful Verhagen.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  12:01
Quick : 59-2 (16 overs)
Van Gigch and Mol fighting back for Quick, they’ve added 31 for the third wicket now. Saqib has brought himself into the attack with Kumar operating at the other end.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  11:57
VRA : 67-0 (15 overs)
Fifty partnership up for Singh and van den Burgh, opening for VRA today. They’re on 29 and 34 respectively.

 Excelsior vs VCC  11:54
Excelsior : 33-0 (12 overs)
Verhagen cracks his first boundary, a drive through cover point off Glover. But in Kingma’s next he gets a thick edge through backward point which might well have gone to hand; to the bowler’s frustration, they get a couple. Kingma and Glover have bowled well on what looks like a very good pitch indeed, but they’re still looking for that breakthrough.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  11:45
VRA : 38-0 (10 overs)
Steady progress at Hazleaarweg meanwhile, VRA at 38 without loss after ten.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  11:36
HCC : 23-1 (8 overs)
First down at de Diepput meanwhile as Itagi goes for 10, Staal joins Wiffen.

 Excelsior vs VCC  11:34
Excelsior : 18-0 (7 overs)
Drama at Thurlede, where Tim Etman has retired hurt after seven overs, with severe back pain, apparently. Lorenzo Ingram replaces him.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  11:32
HBS : 63-1 (6 overs)
After a typically belligerent start Visee’s innings comes to an end for 37 as he calls Elkin through for a single without effect and can’t get back in time.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  11:31
Quick : 30-2 (8 overs)
Van Gigch slams Arya back over his head in the 5th to put some smiles back on some rather glum Quick faces, but Barends wipes them right back off by uprooting Ekelmans’ off stump in the 8th. Doc Mol in.

 Excelsior vs VCC  11:21
Excelsior : 15-0 (5 overs)
When Kingma overpitches slightly in his second over Etman produces the first authentic shot of the morning, driving sweetly through the covers for four. From the other end Glover oversteps on his first delivery; Verhagen slaps the free hit to mid-off where Floris de Lange drops back to take the fruitless catch, and they get a single. The second ball of Kingma’s next is edged by Etman high to De Grooth’s left at first slip; he leaps and gets a hand to it, but can’t cling on. All in all, a fairly eventful start!

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  11:18
HBS : 25-0 (2 overs)
HBS are indeed batting out of choice we’re told, and apparently doing so with gusto.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  11:14
Quick : 12-1 (4 overs)
Barends looking threatening from the first, beating the bat twice in the first over, and in the second finds the wicket everybody wants, Bista drawn forward and struck half-way up the front pad, up goes the finger. Ekelmans in.

 Excelsior vs VCC  11:04
Excelsior : 2-0 (1 over)
And we’re under way at Thurlede. Viv Kingma bowls initially from the City End to Tim Etman, who plays cautiously until he slices the final ball over point for a couple. Streaky but safe. Brandon Glover from the Scoreboard End to Roel Verhagen.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  11:01
Quick : 2-0 (1 over)
Slightly early start here, Bista and van Gigch opening for Quick, Arya takes the new ball, starts with a wide, second ball is driven out to long off, tidy for the rest. Barends from the other end.

 HCC vs Dosti-United  10:46
HCC win the toss at de Diepput. They agree it’s a bat first day too, so rare consensus in Topklasse today on that front at least.

 Excelsior vs VCC  10:41
And good morning from a sun-drenched Thurlede, where Tom de Grooth has called incorrectly and Tom Heggelman has elected to bat.

 HBS vs Sparta 1888  10:40
HBS batting first at Craeyenhout. As ususal they’re being coy about who came up with that idea.

 VOC Rotterdam vs VRA  10:39
Visitors have the toss at Hazelaarweg too, VRA bat first.

 ACC vs Quick Haag  10:37
Quick win the toss here, they’ll have a bat.

 ☀ Weather Update ☀  10.35
Last of the morning haze has burned off here, it is hot already and likely to get more so, same story all over by the sound of things. Cooled off a bit since yesterday but don’t think you’d need a jacket if you fancy getting along to a game.

 Bertus de Jong  10:26
Morning all. Here we go again. Round 11. I’ll be at het Loopveld for ACC vs Quick Haag where we’re about 3 minutes from the toss. Plebnty of other action taoday too though, read all about it in the preview.
