Topklasse Live | Round 12 | As it Happened

 Rod Lyall  19:50
Is a tie a point saved or a point won? Today’s result takes Excelsior just clear at the top, and keeps Sparta’s nose in front of VRA and Quick. So both teams might feel they got away with one, although no doubt both would have been happier to have claimed the win. VRA’s win over HCC gets them up off the floor and increases the pressure on Quick, while HBS are the only one of the top four to have taken both points today. It’s been another fascinating day’s cricket, and a very good one for TKcricket’s very own debutant, Max Charlesworth. Thanks to him, and to all those who feed us the information without which we couldn’t do what we do. Wherever you are, have a good one, and come back soon!

Well, was that exciting enough for you? I’m just collecting my wits, after which I shall have something to eat (and possibly drink), after which I shall finish updating the table and wish you all a fond good evening. Come back in half an hour or so, for that.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  18:53
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 276 all out (45.4 overs)
And at Nieuw Hanenburg Quick end 63 short, despite that superb innings by Jay Bista.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:51
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 181 all out (49.6 overs)
And it’s a tie!!! Van Troost is run out going for the winning run off the final delivery. I predicted a very tight finish an hour ago, but I didn’t expect it to be quite that tight!

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:46
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 181-9 (49.3 overs)
Scores level; three balls left.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:45
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 180-9 (49 overs)
Van Troost and Sohail Bhatti go into the final over needing just two.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:41
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 174-9 (48 overs)
Excelsior need 8 runs off 12 deliveries, Sparta need one wicket . . .

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:34
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 165-9 (45.4 overs)
It’s going down to the wire! Fletcher gets Baker LBW, with 17 still needed.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  18:31
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 246-8 (41 overs)
Van Schelven goes, soon followed by Hayden Brain, and it looks as if VOC are about to wrap this up.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:28
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 162-8 (44 overs)
Baker and Van Troost are slightly in front of the rate, and 20 are now needed off six.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  18:22
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 236-6 (39.3 overs)
Vierling is caught in the covers for 36. Stefan Ekelmans joins Van Schelven in the middle.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:19
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 150-8 (42 overs)
Umar Baker and Rens van Troost are not convinced: they’re edging their way towards the target, with 32 still needed off eight overs. Four an over isn’t a huge ask, but the margin of error is very, very small.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  18:12
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 206-5 (34 overs)
Net run rate could be significant at the end of the season, so runs now matter. Daan Vierling and Thijs van Schelven are battling away, even though 339 must surely be several bridges too far.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:09
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 139-8 (39 overs)
Heggelman’s been caught behind by Buurman off Bukhari, and it’s just about over in Capelle as well.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  18:07
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 212-9 (45.? overs)
Westdijk claims a return catch, and then Kohli is caught at long off by Julian de Mey. That, my friends, is that.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  18:04
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 138-7 (37.4 overs)
Niels Etman is bowled by Manminder Singh, and a chasm opens for Excelsior.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  18:01
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 211-7 (44 overs)
A Wessel Coster over goes for seven – HBS will take that! 63 off 30.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  17:58
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 131-6 (36.1 overs)
Bukhari bowls Kroesen for 20, and the game’s back (or still) in the balance.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  17:56
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 204-7 (44 overs)
Dosti need 70 off the final 36 deliveries, but the key factor is that Taruwar Kohli is still there. He’s been here before this season, chasing at Nieuw Hanenburg. Can he do it this time?

 VRA vs HCC  17:44
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 195 all out (46.5 overs)
Gorlee is the final wicket to fall, caught behind for 66 as Dasgupta claimed his third. In the end VRA pick up a comprehensive 35-run win at home, something that looked unlikely early in their innings when they were 60-3. HCC put up a great fight in the middle overs, however, the clumps of wickets towards the end of the innings ultimately cost them. My apologies by the way for stating that Gorlee was dismissed earlier in the innings, it was in fact Qasim but that has now been amended. That’s all from me here in the Bos, the end to a wonderful day’s cricket.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  17:47
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 188-5 (30 overs)
But the decisive answer comes when Bista goes for 108, caught at short fine leg off a slower ball. That pretty much settles it, one would think.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  17:45
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 120-5 (33 overs)
Joost Kroesen and Tom Heggelman bring Excelsior to within 61 of their target by the final drinks break. We could be in for a very tight finish at the Bermweg.

 VRA vs HCC  17:22
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 174-9 (43.4 overs)
Raja claims his first for the day as things start closing up here in de Bos. Klaus gone for 6 after an animated LBW appeal, a lot to be asked of the last batting pair with only 6 overs to go and still 55 required. Gorlee brings up his 50 very soon after.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  17:33
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 176-4 (27.4 overs)
The questions stand, as Jeroen Brand is caught behind and the pressure builds. 163 is still a big pile of runs . . .

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  17:29
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 177-7 (38 overs)
Dosti need 97 from the last 12 overs, so a tad over eight an over. As we said a moment ago, a lot hinges on who’s still at the crease.

 VRA vs HCC  17:22
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 163-8 (41.2 overs)
Turmaine claims a caught and bowled, hit straight back to him by Qasim who departs for 1. The game is slowly drifting away from HCC who now require 68 runs at over 7 with just 2 wickets in hand. Klaus is the man in at 10.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  17:22
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 169-3 (25.1 overs)
Bista brings up another scintillating hundred, off just 72 deliveries, but Geert Maarten Mol goes soon afterwards. Can Bista do it on his own? Who can stay with him long enough?

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  17:19
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 100-5 (26.5 overs)
Suddenly the complexion of the match at Bermweg has changed as well: Verhagen dismissed soon after reaching a half-century, soon followed by David Woutersen for a duck.

 VRA vs HCC  17:13
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 154-7 (38.2 overs)
Dasgupta claims another wicket as Wahlain is gone clean bowled for 2, now the rest is left to Gorlee and the tail, Gorlee rests on 35 as Qasim strolls out.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  17:15
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 165-5 (35 overs)
Anees Davids run out by a direct hit from 40 metres by Wesley Barresi. Dosti’s challenge might be faltering, but since we’re not sure who’s still there, it’s hard to be sure.

 Rod Lyall  17:12
Cricket’s a funny old game. Last week VVV Amsterdam set a new record in the Hoofdklasse with 532-3 – admittedly against nine-man Dosti United 2. Today the same side has been dismissed for 143 by Kampong Utrecht and lost by 4 wickets.

 VRA vs HCC  17:05
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 150-6 (36.2 overs)
The bowling change works immediately! Turmaine gets Hay convincingly stumped for 9 as he advances down the wicket trying to put the pressure back on the bowler but the pressure is well and truly on the HCC batsmen now. In comes Walhain to join Gorlee in the middle.

 VRA vs HCC  17:05
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 150-5 (36 overs)
One feels the tide maybe has shifted, HCC players playing a lot more of a consolidating role now after tidy overs from Dasgupta and Gunning. Turmaine comes into the attack from the Mulder End. Gorlee sits on 34 and Hay on 9.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  17:08
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 91-3 (24.4 overs)
And skipper Snoep does the needful, getting Parchment caught behind by Buurman for 15. Excelsior still have work to do.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  17:00
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 123-2 (19.3 overs)
Seelaar grabs another, Stokkers caught at long on by Edwards. Bista now on 68.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  16:56
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 85-2 (22 overs)
Verhagen and Parchment have settled in for the long haul, Verhagen on 47 now and Parchment on 13. With only 96 needed at less than four an over, Sparta desperately need wickets!

 VRA vs HCC  16:52
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 136-5 (32.3 overs)
Dasgupta gets a wicket in his second over! And it’s the key one of Overdijk, caught behind from a thin edge for 4. A tense finish is building here, anyone’s game now. Hay makes his way to the crease.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  16:44
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 111-1 (15.2 overs)
Bista and Van Gigch had upped the tempo considerably, Bista reaching his fifty off 42 balls, but then Van Gigch is bowled by Seelaar for 43. As long as Bista’s there, though, it’s not a done deal.

 VRA vs HCC  16:39
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 128-4 (29.1 overs)
Action here in de Bos as Gunning returns from the Mulder End and cleans up Wiffen for 83 with his first ball back in the attack. Just what VRA needed to keep themselves in this match as Wiffen was ever so inexorably taking it away from them. Overdijk comes in at 6 with this game well and truly still on.

 Voorburg vs ACC  16:39
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 75 all out (35 overs)
And Voorburg claim that final wicket to pull off a remarkable victory.

 Voorburg vs ACC  16:29
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 72-9 (32.? overs)
Anis Raza is caught by Floyd off Glover. It’s all but over at Westvliet.

 Voorburg vs ACC  16:26
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 72-8 (32 overs)
A major upset is on the cards now, as first Brady Barends is run out and then Chris Knoll is trapped in front.

 VRA vs HCC  16:23
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 116-3 (25 overs)
Half way into this HCC innings and they are pretty much exactly on the required run rate, add in that they have 7 wickets in hand and Wiffen is on 78 and one would have to agree they have their necks in front.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  16:19
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 85-4 (?? overs)
Gibson has had someone caught behind by Visée, but who, for what score, and at what point of the innings remain uncertain.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  16:08
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 51-2 (13.1 overs)
Usman Saleem removes Ingram for 1, caught by Mudassar Bukhari, and it’s game on at the Bermweg!

 VRA vs HCC  16:10
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 104-3 (20 overs)
Borren bowls the last over before drinks replacing Cooper at the Mulder end. Raja bowling tidily at the City End, forcing the HCC batsmen to take chances if they want to score. Wiffen and Gorlee remain not out on 69 and 15 respectively.

 Voorburg vs ACC  16:09
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 64-6 (27 overs)
And another one at Westvliet, as Mulready is bowled by Kingma. ACC in deep trouble now!.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  16:08
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 50-1 (12.2 overs)
A wicket at the Bermweg: Etmas caught by Garnett Tarr off Max Hornweg for 24.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  16:05
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
Quick : 27-0 (6 overs)
Bista and Van Gigch have made a decent start to their chase, a dropped chance off the latter helping their cause somewhat. Still a long way to go, though!

 Voorburg vs ACC  16:01
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 63-5 (26 overs)
Voorburg complete their set of Zulfiqars, Saqib now bowled by Boissevain. Brady Barends and young Jamieson Mulready at the crease.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  15:57
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 71-3 (?? overs)
Vinoo Tewarie is bowled by a Zak Gibson yorker. But the carrier pigeons from Drieburg are travelling light today.

 Voorburg vs ACC  15:55
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 62-4 (25.? overs)
No sooner written than one of the abovementioned Zulfiqars departs, Sikander caught behind by Croes off Kingma.

 Voorburg vs ACC  15:53
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 62-3 (25 overs)
A steadying hand has been firmly applied at Westvliet, one suspects the hand of at least one Zulfiqar, and ACC are halfway to their modest target.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  15:48
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 63-2 (?? overs)
A run out by Coster brings Taruwar Kohli to the crease.

 VRA vs HCC  15:43
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 71-3 (13.2 overs)
A commanding 50 comes up off 42 balls for HCC’s Wiffen, the third we’ve seen in the Bos today, plenty of runs to play with for him to double that. Meanwhile Borren has replaced Gunning at the City End and Gorlee is batting patiently on 1.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  15:39
Sparta: 181-8 (50 overs)
Excelsior: 7-0 (5 overs)
Tim Etman and Roel Verhagen have made a very cautious start indeed to Excelsior’s chase, with Sparta keeping it tight at the Bermweg.

 VRA vs HCC  15:35
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 58-3 (10 overs)
The HCC batsmen took it to the VRA bowlers, scoring 12 off Gunning’s fifth over and hitting plenty of boundaries along the way. That is until Street popped one up to Cooper at mid off who took an easy catch from the bowling of Turmaine. Meanwhile Wiffen has motored his way to 40 off 30 balls. Gorlee joins him at the crease.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  15:28
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 42-1 (7.? overs)
A wicket for Wessel Coster at Drieburg, but I’m afraid that’s all we know.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  15:22
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
Dosti 41-0 (7 overs)
Dosti have made a good start to their chase. No further information as yet, but they’re up with the rate in the powerplay.

 VRA vs HCC  15:14
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 22-2 (5 overs)
Aggressive hitting and running from the HCC batsmen saw them race to 22 before losing Staal to the bowling of Gunning, edging to first slip for 7 on the last ball of the 5th over. His departure sees HCC two down and just behind the required run rate. Street comes in at 4 to join Wiffen on 14.

 Voorburg vs ACC  15:04
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 34-3 (13 overs)
ACC continue to do it the hard way: Rehmat Zulfiqar is caught by Matt Smit off Viv Kingma’s bowling. They couldn’t, could they?

 VRA vs HCC  15:01
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 5-1 (1.3 overs)
There’s the early wicket that VRA were looking for, and exactly what HCC didn’t want. Graber clean bowls Itagi for 1, bringing in Staal to the crease.

 VRA vs HCC  14:59
VRA : 230-6 ( 50 overs)
HCC : 5-0 (1 over)
HCC off to a solid start after the first over by Gunning, a single and a four by Wiffen over backward point to start off their chase RRR of 4.59.

 Voorburg vs ACC  14:51
Voorburg : 122 all out (40 overs)
ACC: 34-2 (10.? overs)
Shirase Rasool is caught and bowled by Clayton Floyd. Not for the first time, ACC have an indifferent start chasing a low total.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  14:40
VOC : 338-6 (50 overs)
A very big flourish indeed by VOC, Pierce Fletcher smacking Doc Mol for four consecutive sixes in the final over. Even with Jay Bista opening, that’s a total that will take some chasing!

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  14:34
VOC : 304-6 (48.1 overs)
Exit Schoonheim for 26, but he and Ashiqullah have got VOC past the 300 mark.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  14:30
Sparta: 172-8 (48.4 overs)
Sardha is caught by Van Troost off Parchment for an invaluable 24, but Fletcher is seemingly intent on seeing it through to the end.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  14:25
HBS: 273-2 (50 overs)
HBS finish with a very imposing total indeed, Gomes remaining not out on 123 and Barresi contributing 25. A big ask for Dosti’s batting, but they’ve proved they’re capable.

 Voorburg vs ACC  14:21
Voorburg : 122 all out (39.? overs)
ACC: 11-1 (2 overs)
An early strike by Brandon Glover, removing Jean Marais, caught behind by Noah Croes as ACC start their reply.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  14:18
VOC : 289-5 (45.3 overs)
Edwards goes for 79, but with Schoonheim on 23 and Ashiqullah Said now joining him, VOC are set for a big finish.

 VRA vs HCC  14:15
VRA : 230-6 (50 overs)
Another wicket here in de Bos on the 2nd last ball of the innings, Szwarcynski gone in similar fashion to Lees but this time off the bowling of Qasim, vital innings of 71 this, especially as he has been struggling with what appears to be a hip injury for the last 10 or so overs. The last ball is hit down the ground for 2 leaving the final total at 230 and a target of 231 for HCC to get, roughly par I would say, should be a cracking 2nd innings. Thurimanne remains not out on 11 and his partner, Gunning on 0.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  14:11
VOC : 270-4 (43 overs)
With Edwards on 70 not out, VOC could be on for 300-plus here.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  14:09
Sparta: 145-7 (43 overs)
A maiden Topklasse half-century for Andrew Fletcher, who’s really held his side’s innings together here. It may not prove enough, but he’s given the attack something to bowl at.

 VRA vs HCC  14:03
VRA : 219-5 ( 48.3 overs)
Lees goes for 15, holing out to long off from the bowling of Street looking to accelerate this innings even further.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  13:58
HBS: 229-2 (46.3 overs)
Elkin has been caught on the boundary for 103. Wesley Barresi is probably not the batsman you want to see coming in at 229-2 with three and a half overs left.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  13:57
VOC : 254-4 (41.2 overs)
O’Dowd’s magnificent innings comes to an end as he departs for 127. Scott Edwards, on 69, is joined by Jelte Schoonheim for the final flourish.

 VRA vs HCC  13:53
VRA : 196-4 (46 overs)
Overdijk gets the breakthrough HCC was so desperately looking for, Borren gone top edging a sweep, caught at the 45 for 66, a well constructed innings that has brought VRA back into this game from 60-3 when he arrived at the crease. Lees has come to replace him, showing intent early in a look to push the score above 200. Swarczynski on 64.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  13:53
HBS: 223-1 (4? overs)
Hundred for Zac Elkin as well, and the partnership has passed 200.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  13:49
VOC : 196-3 (37 overs)
O’Dowd, too, has meanwhile brought up his ton as well, his partnership with Scott Edwards assuming significant proportions and giving VOC the edge over Quick. O’Dowd’s hundred came from 106 balls and included eight fours and four sixes.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  13:48
HBS: 208-1 (45 overs)
And Gomes has reached his hundred, with five overs remaining at Drieburg.

 VRA vs HCC  13:45
VRA : 182-3 (44 overs)
Another half century here de Bos with VRA captain Pete Borren bringing it up off 64 balls. That’s his 2nd fifty in as many weeks and this partnership is now worth a hefty 122. I would say they are around 50 runs away from a very competitive score, but of course we will have to wait and see.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  13:45
Sparta: 116-7 (36 overs)
Joost Martijn Snoep has been trapped in front by Ingram, and it’s now Sawan Sardha who’s supporting Fletcher, who has moved to 36.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  13:42
HBS: 193-1 (43 overs)
Gomes on 94, approaching his second century of the summer, but the big explosion is yet to come with Barresi still waiting in the wings.

 VRA vs HCC  13:32
VRA : 158-3 (41 overs)
50 up for Swarczynski, brought about by a nudge to the leg side off 108 balls, his last 41 runs coming off just 63 balls. This is followed immediately by a glide to fine leg by Borren which beats the fielder and rolls over for 4, moving him onto 44. 12 off that Hay over, a sign of what is to come?

 Voorburg vs ACC  13:32
Voorburg : 122 all out (39.? overs)
And so does the Voorburg innings soon afterwards, as Kingma is stumped by Marais off Arya.

 Voorburg vs ACC  13:31
Voorburg : 115-9 (39 overs)
A spirited rearguard action between Brandon Glover and Viv Kingma comes to an end, as Glover is bowled by Devanshu Arya.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  13:27
Sparta: 108-6 (31.3 overs)
Manminder Singh has been lending Andrew Fletcher some valuable support, but now he’s gone as well, caught by Lorenzo Ingram off Umar Baker for 16.

 VRA vs HCC  13:24
VRA : 140-3 ( 39 overs)
The pace is being picked up by VRA with this partnership between Borren (36) and Swarczynski (44) now being worth an ever valuable 80 at this 2nd and final drinks break. HCC still bowling well, however a couple misfields recently and that drop of Swarczynski very early in his innings may prove costly as both batsmen will be looking to push on and post big scores in these final 11 overs.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  13:15
HBS: 156-1 (37 overs)
The second-wicket stand between Elkin and Gomes is now worth 137, with both batsmen on 68. In terms of the match, it’s probably worth quite a bit more.

 VRA vs HCC  13:04
VRA : 113-3 (34 overs)
VRA pass the 100 mark on the 4th ball of the 31st over. Borren and Swarcynski still laying the groundwork, the partnership now worth a valuable 53. Tricky business with the pitch holding up a little, will be very interesting to see how it plays in the 2nd innings. HCC prying for that next wicket.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  13:04
Sparta: 89-5 (26.2 overs)
Another for Van Troost: Atse Buurman caught by Branton Parchment for 2. Fletcher’s knock becomes even more important as partners come and go.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  12:55
Sparta: 87-4 (24.4 overs)
Mudassar Bukhari has come and gone, trapped in front by Rens van Troost for 6. Fletcher still there, and now the crucial figure for Sparta.

 Voorburg vs ACC  12:51
Voorburg : 87-8 (28 overs)
It’s all happening at Westvliet, where Floyd is out LBW to Saqib Zulfiqar and almost immediately Philippe Boissevain is run out by Barends.

 VRA vs HCC  12:50
VRA : 98-3 (30 overs)
Constricting bowling from Klaus sees VRA approach but not yet cross 100 in the 30th over. The platform is being built, with batting still to come, and several changes in bats, one imagines we might see some hitting out coming in the next 5-10 overs.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  12:48
Sparta: 79-3 (23 overs)
A run out by Verhagen breaks the Sparta partnership: Garnett Tarr goes for 17.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  12:46
HBS: 115-1 (?? overs)
Another half-century for Sharn Gomes, with Elkin on 47. HBS are looking well set at Drieburg.

 Voorburg vs ACC  12:43
Voorburg : 78-6 (26 overs)
Another for Saqib Zulfiqar: Alyan Razzaqi caught behind by Jean Marais as Voorburg’s woes continue.

 Voorburg vs ACC  12:36
Voorburg : 74-5 (24 overs)
The Voorburg innings threatens to implode in earnest, as Croes is trapped in front by Saqib Zulfiqar.

 VRA vs HCC  12:34
VRA : 81-3 (25 overs)
Overdijk returns for his 2nd spell from the City End, bowling a tight line. Borren has started to pick up the pace, pushing for quick singles as well as the odd boundary, Swarczynski on the other hand sits on 9 off 45. We are halfway through this VRA innings, it’s all about partnerships from here on for VRA. HCC meanwhile will be looking to exploit the pace and mismatched bounce of this pitch.

 Voorburg vs ACC  12:32
Voorburg : 74-4 (23 overs)
And Gigani goes almost immediately, caught and bowled by Raza. Clayton Floyd the new man.

 Voorburg vs ACC  12:30
Voorburg : 73-3 (?? overs)
Bad news for Voorburg fans as well: Nic Smit run out by a direct hit from Rehmat Zulfiqar. Nehaan Gigani joins Croes.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  12:28
VOC : 92-3 (18.? overs)
The reconstruction work at Nieuw Hanenburg is, however, interrupted by the dismissal of Pieter Seelaar for 19, caught by Brand at long on off the bowling of Thijs van Schelven for 19. O’Dowd is, however, still there, continuing his remarkable purple patch.

 Voorburg vs ACC  12:22
Voorburg : 64-2 (20 overs)
Consolidation would appear to be the name of the game at present, as Noah Croes and Nic Smit strive to build a base at Westvliet as well.

 VRA vs HCC  12:13
VRA : 63-3 ( 19 overs)
Drinks are flowing here at the VRA 1st field however the runs are not, only 8 scored in the last 7 overs. Innings run rate of 3.31, VRA will look to amend this as their two new batsmen start to get settled. Swarczysnki on 4, Borren on 1.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  12:13
Sparta: 44-2 (13 overs)
And at the Bermweg Garnett Tarr and Andrew Fletcher have the same task after Heggelman’s removal of the Sparta openers.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  12:10
HBS: 69-1 (17 overs)
Zac Elkin and Sharn Gomes are doing what they do, constructing a platform for HBS after Visée’s early departure.

 VRA vs HCC  12:03
VRA : 60-3 (16.3 overs)
Swarczynski given a life, dropped at point from the bowling of Klaus in the 15th over. Cooper much less lucky as he is dismissed leg before by Hay. VRA mainstay Borren arrives at the crease, looking to continue on from his 82 last weekend, pressure situation building here in the Bos.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  11:56
Sparta: 37.2 (9.2 overs)
And another for Heggelman: De Kok this time, caught behind by Roel Verhagen for 12.

 VRA vs HCC  11:53
VRA : 57-2 (13 overs)
A splash of yellow breaks through the sky as a crowd of yellow breaks through on the pitch. Singh LBW for 33 trying to sweep Hay. My initial thought was a bit high with the amount of bounce in this pitch but that has appeared to be variable, this particular ball not reaching the same height as the others. Cooper still not out on 13 as Swarczynski joins him at the crease.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  11:53
VOC : 61-2 (10 overs)
The first to go at Nieuw Hanenburg was Corey Rutgers, but now they’ve lost another, caught by Bista off Jeroen Brand.

 Voorburg vs ACC  11:52
Voorburg : 44-2 (11 overs)
Another one goes at Westvliet: Matt Smit has been caught by Saqib Zulfiqar off Anis Raza, and is succeeded by brother Nic.

 VRA vs HCC  11:44
VRA : 43-1 ( 10 overs)
Another bowling change at the city end with the spin of Hay being introduced, slightly expensive though with 7 coming off his first. Meanwhile at the other end Qasim has come back nicely after being pummelled for 2 fours by Singh earlier in his spell. Cooper on 13, Singh on 24.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  11:44
Sparta: 35-1 (7.2 overs)
Tom Heggelman gets the breakthrough for Excelsior, as Ali Raza, continuing to chance his arm, is caught by David Woutersen for 17.

 Voorburg vs ACC  11:40
Voorburg : 38-1 (8 overs)
And as if by magic, we learn that the wicket came off Brady Barends. Which hardly comes as a surprise.

 Voorburg vs ACC  11:39
Voorburg : 38-1 (8 overs)
De Grooth has departed, caught behind off we wot not whom. Matt Smit has 16 at this point, as Noah Croes joins him at the crease.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  11:31
Sparta: 12-0 (4 overs)
Contrasting approaches by Sparta’s openers at Bermweg: Ali Raza has gone to 10 at almost a run a ball, while Tim de Kok is more watchful, having taken just a single so far.

 VRA vs HCC  11:27
VRA : 24-1 (7 overs)
Street gets the breakthrough with his 2nd legitimate ball, Van den Burg caught behind for 5 looking to cut a loose one. Cooper comes to the crease and gets off the mark first ball with an outside edge to fine leg, Singh still looking steady on 14.

 Voorburg vs ACC  11:23
Voorburg : 24-0 (5 overs)
Tom de Grooth and Matt Smit have made a steady start at Westvliet.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  11:23
HBS: 19-1 (?? overs)
And a big early wicket for Dosti, as Tobias Visée departs.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  11:19
VOC : 18-1 (2.? overs)
There’s an early wicket at Nieuw Hanenburg as the Dake-Vierling combination removes one of VOC’s openers. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you which of them.

 VRA vs HCC  11:10
VRA : 5-0 (2 overs)
VRA off the mark with a wide from Qasim followed by 2 two’s down the ground from Van den Burg. Outfield holding up slightly, but should quicken up as the sun peers through the overcast sky shortly.

 VRA vs HCC  11:05
VRA : 0-0 ( 1 over)
Singh faces the allotted 6 balls of the first over watchfully as Van den Burg waits at the other end. Maiden from Overdijk to start the match on a pitch with plenty of bounce and carry.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  11:00
The ever-reliable Lisa Heggelman informs us that Sparta have won the toss and will bat, but that it’s raining at the moment and there will be a delayed start at the Bermweg.

 Sparta 1888 vs Excelsior ‘20  10:50
It appears that the carrier pigeon who was bringing news from the Bermweg may have been brought down by heavy flak over Gouda . . .

 Voorburg vs ACC  10:44

Saqib Zulfiqar has called correctly at Westvliet and invited the hosts to have a bat.

 Dosti-United vs HBS Craeyenhout  10:40
HBS:
HBS will have a bat at Sportpark Drieburg, although we don’t yet know whose decision that was.

 VRA vs HCC  10:35
VRA :
Morning all, and welcome to the Amsterdamse Bos where VRA have won the toss, elected to bat and are looking to continue their performance from last week and secure their 3rd win of the season, dimunising their chances of relegation. Meanwhile a commanding win from HCC could see them pressure Excelsior for that illustrious 2nd place spot.

Quick Haag vs VOC Rotterdam  10:35
VOC :
First real news of the morning is that Pieter Seelaar has lost the toss at Nieuw Hanenburg, and Daan Vierling has elected to field.
