VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 79-9 (27.3 overs)
Kroesen plays O’Dowd wide of mid-on for four, but tries to cut the next one, is beaten by the turn, and bowled. Haider Khan in. It can’t be long now. And Khan goes back to his first ball, and is pretty much plumb. Sohail Bhatti the last man, with O’Dowd on a hat-trick.

Quick Haag vs HCC 17:14
Quick: 193 all out in 49.4 overs
HCC:119-5 in 30.5 overs
And a breakthrough they get! Gronenwald has Ninan, caught Mol for 72. And the same combination does for Gorlee first ball, could this be the turning point?

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 17:09
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 74-7 (25.5 overs)
Woutersen comes down the wicket to O’Dowd, is beaten, and Edwards whips the bails off. Rens van Troost in as the players take a final drink.

Quick Haag vs HCC 17:08
Quick: 193 all out in 49.4 overs
HCC:118-3 in 30 overs
Progress has slowed rather at de Diepput but Ninan’s still there with Street, and Quick need a breakthrough from somewhere.

Dosti United vs ACC Amsterdam  17:06
Dosti: 177 all out in 47 overs
ACC: 104-3 in 27 overs
Fifty for Frenz and three figures on the board for ACC, Saqib still with him on 41*. ACC well in control of this chase now.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 17:05
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 71-6 (24 overs)
Woutersen is batting very positively, driving O’Dowd through the covers twice for four and hitting another, squarer this time, off Hanif. Kroesen giving him good support.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 16:50
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 48-6 (19.3 overs)
And Shankar is bowled by O’Dowd, as this threatens to become a rout. Gijs Kroesen joins Woutersen.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 16:47
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 48-5 (18.5 overs)
Drinks bring a degree of relief for the batsmen, as Klaassen and Fletcher give way to O’Dowd and Hanif. But the fielding is as tight as ever, and eventually Verhagen, on 7, sees his off stump knocked back by Hanif. David Woutersen joins Shankar, as VOC tighten their hold on the leader spot.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  16:29
Sparta: 138 all out in 42 overs
VRA: 141-0 in 28.2 overs
That’s a wrap at the Bos, 68 and 63 Szwarczynski and ter Braak and an unbroken opening partnership of 141 to seal a convincing win.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 16:22
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 36-4 (13 overs)
A sustained campaign of pressure gets a crucial result, as Ingram edges Klaassen to O’Dowd at slip. The hostility is palpable, and Ingram was never allowed to settle, although he did play a great straight drive off Fletcher. Sanjeet Shankar joins Verhagen, who has yet to score.

Quick Haag vs HCC 16:20
Quick: 193 all out in 49.4 overs
HCC:84-3 in 17 overs
Drinks meanwhile at de Diepput where things have calmed down somewhat. Nina has his fifty and he’s still going. Street with him in the middle on 7*.

Punjab: 135 all out in 29.4 overs
HBS: ?
HBS, incidentally, have beaten Punjab. Details hopefully to follow.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 16:09
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 29-3 (10.4 overs)
A series of big appeals finally gets its reward as Kroesen is given leg-before to Klaassen. There was definitely bat involved there, but the umpire must have judged that it struck pad first. Two left-handers now as Roel Verhagen joins Ingram.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  16:09
Sparta: 138 all out in 42 overs
VRA: 119-0 in 23 overs
Ter Braak and Szwarczynski cruising this. Half century apiece and just a matter of time now.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 15:54
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 25-2 (8.1 overs)
Klaassen and Fletcher are pulling out all the stops, causing Etman and Ingram problems with a series of short-pitched balls. Ingram survives a massive caught-behind appeal off Klaassen, and Etman is lucky to survive some mistimed shots. But then Klaassen strikes him on the pad, and the umpire’s finger goes up. Joost Kroesen joins Ingram.

Quick Haag vs HCC 15:50
Quick: 193 all out in 49.4 overs
HCC:62-2 in 10 overs
Mol has picked up a second wicket, Jonkman gone for a duck, but also an injury it seems. Ankle trouble apparently. Ninan still there and closing in on 50.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  15:49
Sparta: 138 all out in 42 overs
VRA: 86-0 in 12 overs
Ter Braak and Szwarczynski still for VRA and they’ve taken the hosts well over the half-way mark already. They’re on 40* and 38* respectively.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 15:33
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 6-1 (3.3 overs)
A steady enough start for Excelsior, but when Heggelman tries to go after Fletcher he succeeds only in skying the ball to mid-on, where Baker runs to his left to take the catch. Lorenzo Ingram makes another early entrance.

Dosti United vs ACC Amsterdam  15:31
Dosti: 177 all out in 47 overs
ACC: 22-1 in 6 overs
ACC lose Rehmat Zulfiqar early in the chase.

Quick Haag vs HCC 15:27
Quick: 193 all out in 49.4 overs
HCC: 43-1 in 4.4 overs
HCC lose their first, and it’s the newly promoted opener Walhain who goes, caught and bowled by Doc Mol. Ninan’s in a hurry at the other end though, he’s raced to 40 off just 20 balls.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 15:24
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Excelsior 2-0 (1 over)
Fred Klaassen opens from the Pavilion End to Tim Etman, who has skipper Tom Heggelman as his partner. It’s a lively first over, but produces only a wide, a single, and a fruitless LBW appeal against Heggelman. Pierce Fletcher from the Airport End.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  15:17
Sparta: 138 all out in 42 overs
VRA: 52-0 in 12 overs
And fifty up for VRA, still ter Braak and Szwarczynski, who welcomes Bell into the attack by driving him handsomely through the covers for 4.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  14:58
Sparta: 138 all out in 42 overs
VRA: 18-0 in 5 overs
And they’re back at it in the Bos too, ter Braak and Szwarczynski opening for the hosts, they’re 18 without loss in 5.

Punjab Rotterdam vs HBS Craeyenhout 14:48
Punjab: 135 all out in 29.4 overs
HBS: 64-2 in 12 overs
They’re back underway at the Zomercomplex meanwhile, and Punjab manage to dislodge Visee early, and now see Gomes on his way for 26. Just 71 to get from here though.

Dosti United vs ACC Amsterdam  14:37
Dosti: 177 all out in 47 overs
Kohli’s departure brings predictable results, as Dosti slump from 160-5 to 177 all out, despite the aid of some 35 wides from ACC. Saqib Zulfiqar finishes pick of the bowlers with 3-40, for Dosti, only Kohli and Hafeez outscored the extras.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 14:36
VOC: 191-9 (50 overs)
Baker tries an awkward sort of leg-side ramp off Bhatti, and succeeds only in spearing the ball up for Verhagen to take his third catch. He goes for 21. Edwards continues in company with Pierce Fletcher, and exacts a heavy toll in the last couple of overs before holing out to Shankar at cow corner. That was a splendid 82-ball 69. And Fletcher smashes the final ball back over Gijs Kroesen’s head for six. That’s a pretty decent total by VOC, all things considered.

Quick Haag vs HCC 14:30
Quick: 193 all out in 49.4 overs
But it’s not to be. Street castles van der Horst to wrap things up. He finishes with 3-39, Ninan 3-30. 194 will be the target.

Quick Haag vs HCC 14:23
Quick: 192-9 in 49 overs
Quick stumbling through the final phase, but have picked up some runs along the way, a good last over could still see them to 200.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 14:18
VOC: 154-7 (46 overs)
A very useful stand between Edwards and Baker, and Edwards duly brings up a fine half-century with a push to midwicket off Ingram. He’s faced 70 deliveries, and hit four fours and a six

Dosti United vs ACC Amsterdam  14:15
Dosti: 160-6 in 43.4 overs
That’s the big wicket and a good time to get it, Rehmat bags Kohli’s wicket courtesy a fine running catch from Botha. Gone for 62.

Quick Haag vs HCC 14:09
Quick: 175-7 in 45 overs
Van Schelven and Stokkers riding their luck a little as Ninan shells a chance of Overdijk at mid off. Quick could still get a solid score from here if this pair can hang in there for the last five.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  13:58
Sparta: 138 all out in 42 overs
…who can add just one more run. Four for Turmaine too.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  13:53
Sparta: 137-9 in 40 overs
Sparta too have squandered a good start, four wickets for Borren and Sparta down to their last pair…

Quick Haag vs HCC 13:52
Quick: 158-7 in 41 overs
Quick’s middle order dissolving under pressure now, Ninan has three, Groenewald caught behind the most recent. Van Schelven joins Stokkers.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 13:46
VOC: 121-7 (39.2 overs)

Punjab Rotterdam vs HBS Craeyenhout 13:42
Punjab: 135 all out in 29.4 overs
Punjab have been rolled for 135 inside of 30 overs we hear. Coster and Khan principally responsible finishing with 4-28 and 3041 respectively. 40s for Myburgh and Usman the only serious scores.

Dosti United vs ACC Amsterdam  13:33
Dosti: 117-4 in 34.4 overs
Skipper Saqib Zulfiqar finds the breakthrough as Hafeez is caught for 39. Kohli still there though and looking to kick on.

Quick Haag vs HCC 13:25
Quick: 132-5 in 35 overs
A second for Street and it’s Mol that goes, nicking behind for 29. Trappenburg and Groenewald in now trying to dig in.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 13:21
VOC: 103-6 (34 overs)
Shankar replaces Ingram from the Airport End, while Kroesen continues from the other. Edwards has moved on to 26, looking in good touch, and Klaassen belts Shankar through mid-on for a valuable boundary. The 100 is up, but VOC need a good partnership here.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  13:10
Sparta: 120-6 in 30.5 overs
And a second for Borren, Snoep bowled for 7. Muhammad joins Ambrose.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 13:07
VOC: 89-6 (30.4 overs)

Quick: 117-4 in 30 overs
Mol looking solid on 28*, but loses another partner, Vierling bowled Street for one. Trappenburg in.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 12:57
VOC: 80-5 (27.4 overs)
Ingram continues to twirl away from the Airport End, and he’s rewarded when he strikes O’Dowd on the pad and the umpire’s finger slowly goes up. Maarten van Ierschot joins Edwards.

Dosti United vs ACC Amsterdam  12:49
Dosti: 60-3 in 25 overs
Kohli and Hafeez are rebuilding at Drieburg in the meantime.

Quick Haag vs HCC 12:48
Quick: 106-3 in 23 overs
That’s a big wicket at de Diepput. Ninan bowls Bista for 77. A good platform for Quick here nonetheless, but can the middle order capitalise?

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 12:46
VOC: 77-4 (25 overs)
The tempo picks up a little at the Hazelaarweg: not only does Edwards begin purposefully, but O’Dowd, who has taken 56 balls to reach 15, starts to go after Sanjeet Shankar as Excelsior resort to spin from both ends.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  12:42
Sparta: 102-5 in 23.4 overs
And another for Turmaine, Bukhari gone for 8. Snoep joins Ambrose.

Punjab Rotterdam vs HBS Craeyenhout 12:42

100 up for Sparta too who are motoring along despite the wickets. Bukhari and Ambrose at the crease.

Quick Haag vs HCC 12:40
Quick: 100-2 in 22 overs
Hundred up for Quick in the meantime. Bista on 72*.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 12:30
VOC: 56-4 (21 overs)

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 12:28
VOC: 56-3 (20.3 overs)
Van Baren decides to go after Bhatti, slicing him over the slips and then playing an excellent on drive for two more boundaries. But he doesn’t get on top of the third ball, and pushes it tamely into the hands of Heggelman at shortish cover. Important breakthrough that for Excelsior.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  12:28
Sparta: 93-4 in 19.3 overs
Meanwhile Turmaine is doing a number on the Sparta top order. De Kok and Pollard bowled in succession.

Quick Haag vs HCC 12:27

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  12:12
Sparta: 71-2 in 16.2 overs
At the Bos Bell and Rattu’s bright half-century opening partnership is brought to an end with a double breakthrough, Turmaine pinning Bell in front and Rattu caught off by van den Burg off Borren.

Punjab Rotterdam vs HBS Craeyenhout 12:08

And another gone, Ahmed run out now, Kohli still there though.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 12:02

Quick Haag vs HCC 11:58

Punjab in early trouble, as Wessel Coster collects two wickets and Berend Westdijk one to reduce them to 31 for three.

Quick Haag vs HCC 11:38
Quick: 25-1 (9 overs)
An early wicket at De Diepput too, where Bob van Gigch falls to Ahmed Ali Qasim in the opening over. But Jay Bista is seemingly intent on carrying on where he left off last week and is on 18 not out.

VRA Amsterdam vs Sparta 1888  11:29
Sparta: 14-0 in 5 overs
Steadier stuff from Sparta at the Bos meanwhile, where Rattu and Bell have put on 14 in the first five, Gunning and Gul sharing the new ball for the hosts.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 11:26
VOC: 21-2 (6 overs)
The bowlers are pretty clearly on top here on a green, seaming pitch, but Van Baren hits Heggelman for two successive fours, through the covers and down to fine leg, and an over later pulls him through midwicket for three. Van Troost then hits him painfully on the leg, but a no-ball is driven back straight for four, and the next ball is lofted to deep extra cover, just into the gap.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 11:08
VOC: 1-2 (2 overs)
Rens van Troost from the Airport End to Rutgers, who survives a big appeal of leg-before from HIS first delivery. He plays the rest of the over quietly, before getting an edge through to Verhagen off the final ball of the over. Max O’Dowd comes in.

VOC Rotterdam vs Excelsior ‘20 11.02
VOC: 0-1 (0.1 overs)
Sensation! Tom Heggelman opens from the Pavilion End to Jelte Schoonheim, and traps him in front with the first ball of the match! Dirk van Baren joins Corey Rutgers at the crease.

 ☀ Weather Update ☀  10.53
The sort of day that everybody wants to bat first. It’s hot and getting hotter. Not a cloud to be seen across the country we hear.

It’s another beautiful day in one of the best Dutch summers anyone can remember, and we’re looking forward to a keenly-contested game. The toss is about five minutes away.

 Bertus de Jong  10:13
Good Morning everyone and welcome once again to our regular Topklasse coverage. It’s Round 13 already and very much make-or break time at the top and bottom ends of the table, whilst the middle looks set to become the permanent home to more disappointed or relieved parties in the next couple of weeks. A full schedule of five games ahead today, read all about it in the preview as always.
