Bertus de Jong 19:22
So a phenomenal fightback from Quick to secure their Topklasse berth next year, that’s a wrap for us, and indeed the season but for end-of-term dead rubbers next week. Join us again for that nonsense, I’m off for a Barco.

Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 19:18
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 225 all out (46 overs)
And gone, Khan LBW to Stokkers! Punjab’s hopes are snuffed out. They’ll be headed back to the Hoofdklasse next season, Quick survive, thanks in large part to the returning Edgar Shiferli, who came back to take 3-45 as Visee looked to be taking the game away from them.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 19:11
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 224-9 (45 overs)
And van Rijn gone too, bowled Brand. Last man Farshad Khan joins Barresi. 20 needed for the last wicket.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 19:07
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 223-8 (44 overs)
Davey strikes again! De Mey caught, Lukas van Rijn in to join Barresi.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 19:04
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 221-7 (43 overs)
Maiden over for the 42nd, 43rd goes for 3. 23 needed from seven with three in hand.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 18:54
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 206-5 (42.3 overs, target 204 in 45)
Cooper finishes things off with a booming six onto the Korfball courts off Masood. He finishes on 84*, all eyes turn to Craeyenhout.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:53
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 218-7 (41 overs)
Schiferli again, and Vink the man to go. De Mey joins Barresi.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 18:51
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 199-5 (42 overs, target 204 in 45)
The runs keep coming, VRA just one hit away now. Three overs to find 5 runs.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:50
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 213-6 (40 overs)
Could there be another twist here? Morgan goes cheaply thanks to a great catch from Bista off Schiferli, and now Singh’s innings is brought to an end by Davey, who bowls him for 76. Vink and Barresi in now and both yet to score, 31 still needed…
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 18:45
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 186-5 (40 overs, target 204 in 45)
Five overs to go, 18 runs to get. Cooper’s on 70 now, Lees with him on 15. Some aggressive if not terribly well coordinated running from this pair and the game is VRA’s to lose from here. Hans to bowl the 41st.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:35
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 201-4 (36 overs)
Schiferli gets Visee, but not before he’s hit 69 off 25 balls and, one would think, won the game for HBS. They needed 133 from 22 when he walked in, now they need 43 from 14.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:26
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 185-3 (35 overs)
Fifty for Visee, he’ll have overtaken Singh in a couple of overs if he keeps this up.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 18:24
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 164-5 (36 overs, target 204 in 45)
Lees hits the sixth six of the innings, putting Hafeez back over his head onto the football pitch again. I suspect, though I’d have to check, that Hafeez has been hit for more sixes in this innings than in the entire season to date.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:16
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 177-3 (34 overs)
Visee looking rather more than positive in fact. Bista goes for 6,4,6. Visee two short of a fifty already off not a lot of balls.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 18:14
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 149-5 (33 overs, target 204 in 45)
A straight six off Hoseinbaks and a push to long for one on sees Cooper to fifty, Lees blocks out the over. Hafeez is back.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:07
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 144-3 (32 overs)
The late acceleration has come early at Craeyenhout, Singh into the 60s and Visee looking positive.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 18:04
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 140-5 (31 overs, target 204 in 45)
Another entertaining cameo comes to an end as van den Burg plays Hosienbaks on following an attractive 19 from 17. Lees joins Cooper, who’s on 42*.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 18:03
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 119-3 (30 overs)
Bista has Ahmed caught for 43, but that only brings Visee to the crease. HBS need a shade over sixes from the last 20 overs, though with Barresi and Morgan to come the 20 over champions may not be too unhappy with that equation.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 17:50
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 105-2 (26 overs)
Hundred up for HBS at Craeyenhout, solid platform for the hosts, Singh and Ahmed both in the 40s and Quick will need wickets in a hurry one feels.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 17:44
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 111-4 (26 overs, target 204 in 45)
And that’s why you don’t see many people walking on LBW’s I guess. Szwarczynski down the track to Davids, struck on the knee roll and looks rather taken aback when his attention is drawn to the umpire’s finger, which is pointed skywards. Might have been some bat there too. Nonetheless, Van den Burg to the middle.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 17:40
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 111-3 (25 overs, target 204 in 45)
Well you don’t see that too often. Borren back in the crease to Hoseinbaks, looking to brush him off the pads, but doesn’t connect and that looks plumb from here. We’ll have to wait till after the match for the umpire’s opinion though, as Borren has walked, adjudging himself out after an entertaining 24. Szwarczynski in.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 17:37
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 91-2 (23.3 overs)
Last word from Craeyenhout is that Ahmed and Singh are upping the pace, 32 off the last 21 balls.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 17:30
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 96-2 (23 overs, target 204 in 45)
Borren’s taken a couple of overs to have a look, but looks to be done looking now. He dumps Hafeez (who is averaging 9 with the ball this season) back over his head for two huge sixes onto the recently vacated football field. Davids returns.
ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag 17:26
ACC: 121 all out (36.2 overs)
HCC: 127-3 (30.1 overs)
And Gorlee finishes it with a six off Saqib to end on 31 not out. Street’s 58 at the other end. Events in Rotterdam may be letting ACC off the hook, but it has to be said that their performance today has been deeply unimpressive.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 17:24
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 59-2 (20 overs)
Ahmed and Singh still for HBS, though they look to be leaving it for a late surge. Plenty of batting to come though so perhaps not a bad strategy.
ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag 17:20
ACC: 121 all out (36.2 overs)
HCC: 111-3 (29 overs)
Street reaches a thoroughly-deserved half-century by smiting Saqib over long on for six. He has 54 from 65 deliveries, while Gorlee has moved on to 20. 11 needed.
VOC Rotterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 17:19
VOC: 283-5 (50 overs)
Punjab: 175 all out (40 overs)
O’Dowd bags his seventh with his last ball, and the last ball of the match, as he nicks off Tariq for 2. 7-32 in 10 his figures, VOC win by 108 runs and Punjab are all but out of it now. Even if Quick lose to HBS today, Punjab will need to make up a substantial net run rate deficit next week if they are to avoid relegation.
VOC Rotterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 17:13
VOC: 283-5 (50 overs)
Punjab: 169-9 (39 overs)
Asif Khan was putting on a remarkable counterattack at Hazelaarweg, albeit in what still looked a lost cause. But as I type Jelte Schoonheim puts a stop to it. He’s holes out for 41 off 35. Tariq and Bajwa last pair.
ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag 17:07
ACC: 121 all out (36.2 overs)
HCC: 88-3 (24 overs)
Bryce Street is playing a fine innings for his side, nothing spectacular, but a wide range of shots and some excellent running between the wickets. Gorlee is showing great composure as well, and while Saqib Zulfiqar is running through his bowlers he’s beginning to run out of options.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 17:02
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 42-2 (15 overs)
Ahmed and Singh now for HBS, Coster bowled, still 202 to get for the hosts or the competition will likely be entirely settled today.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 16:59
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 48-2 (13 overs, target 204 in 45)
Singh’s run himself out here in the meantime, Borren joins Cooper.
Excelsior ’20 vs Sparta 1888 16:57
Excelsior: 250-6 (50 overs)
Sparta 41 all out (20 overs)
Hilditch wraps it up, trapping Yaqub LBW and Exclesior have revenged their 41 all out at Bermweg by knocking Sparta over for precisely the same today.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 16:55
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 46-1 (11 overs, target 204 in 45)
Had my head down for a bit there I’m afraid, but Dan ter Braak’s managed to get himself out somehow. LBW to Diwan says the scorebook, Coooper joins Singh, who’s on 15. Diwan and Mahesh Hans bowling.
Excelsior ’20 vs Sparta 1888 16:50
Excelsior: 250-6 (50 overs)

Ingram’s ripping through the Sparta tail meanwhile, wickets falling too fast to recount here.
VOC Rotterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 16:48
VOC: 283-5 (50 overs)
Punjab: 131-7 (32 overs)
O’Dowd may yet have reason to regret Baker bagging that wicket earlier or he might have been on for all ten. 6-11 in six his figures now and he’s put this game to bed early.
Excelsior ’20 vs Sparta 1888 16:44
Excelsior: 250-6 (50 overs)
Sparta 39-7 (17 overs)
Wheels are off for Sparta and spinning away over the horizon. Hilditch adds Buurman’s wicket to his tally, Ingram does for Pawa. Muhammad and Yaqub in the middle now, both scoreless.
Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 16:40
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
HBS: 24-1 (10 overs)
HBS meanwhile are looking to recover from the early run-out of Gomes, Coster and Ahmed looking to see off the new ball, plenty of batting to come though.
VOC Rotterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 16:38
VOC: 283-5 (50 overs)
Punjab: 114-5 (28 overs)
O’Dowd cleaning house at Hazelaarweg, Latif the next to go. Khan in.
< ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag 16:37
ACC: 121 all out (36.2 overs)
HCC: 59-3 (15.1 overs)
The breakthrough comes in controversial fashion, as a quick single to Frenz produces a vociferous and insistent appeal for a run-out. There’s some discussion about whether the ball was taken cleanly, the umpires confer, and eventually Staal has to go, for 27. Boris Gorlee joins Street.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 16:35
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 28-0 (6 overs, target 204 in 45)
Steady start for VRA meanwhile, ter Braak especially playing some attractive shots, Davids and Masood still unchanged.

Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 16:15
Dosti: 202-7 (45 overs, closed)
VRA: 3-0 (1 over, target 204 in 45)
And we’re back here, Singh and ter Braak opening for VRA, Davids and Massod sharing the new ball.
Excelsior ’20 vs Sparta 1888 16:11
Excelsior: 250-6 (50 overs)
Sparta 10-3 (10 overs)
Hilditch pins Pollard in front and Sparta look dead and buried ten opvers into the innings.
ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag 16:10
ACC: 121 all out (36.2 overs)

Punjab: 86-1 (20 overs)
Myburgh has slowed appreciably since the field spread but he’s still putting bad balls away, 56* off 48 now, VOC beginning to haul back the rate though.
Excelsior ’20 vs Sparta 1888 15:55
Excelsior: 250-6 (50 overs)
Sparta 8-2 (8 overs)
Two for Kroesen, Snoep manages just one better than Bukhari. Pollard joins de Kok and Sparta already in serious trouble.
ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag 15:49
ACC: 121 all out (36.2 overs)

Davids finds four more over cover and 202 the total after 45, impressive recovery after a middle order collapse.

Quick Haag vs HBS Craeyenhout 15:20
Quick: 243 all out (48.3 overs)
Davey has got them something to boiwl at, though defending anything sub-250 is a big ask at Craeyenhout. He’s last man out for 74 but just didn’t get the requisite support from the lower middle order.
Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 15:09
Dosti: 163-7 (40 overs)

Dosti-United vs VRA Amsterdam 14:59
Dosti: 161-4 (38 overs)

ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag 12:06
ACC: 24-0 (3.5 overs)
The umpires are intent on getting the game back on. So the home side are breaking up the dampness of the outfield with a net, and some attempt will be made to dry the business areas of the pitch. No sign of that so far. They’ll have another look in half an hour, but there’s no sign at the moment of the sun and wind we need.

ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag sup>11:26
ACC: 24-0 (3.5 overs)
The covers are now going on, but there’s some uncertainty about whether and/or when the pitch was covered overnight. It seems that it’s really quite wet out there, and we may need some drying weather once they can get the covers off. Don’t hold your breath.
Excelsior ’20 vs Sparta 1888 11:21
Excelsior: 15-2 (4 overs)
Kroesen doesn’t last though, Hoornweg has him LBW for a duck. Ingram in.
ACC Amsterdam vs HCC den Haag 11:19
ACC: 24-0 (3.5 overs)
Some aggression from Frenz against Qasim, cutting him over point and then driving through cover off his first over. Then, off the first ball of his next, he leans back and pulls him powerfully wide of mid-on. Rehmat joins the party with a cut behind point. The outfield may be damp, but the ball’s certainly running. There’s some issue about the pitch at the Uilenstede End: the umpires confer, and the players are leaving the field.

Excelsior: 13-1 (3 overs)
Bukhari strikes in his second over, trapping Verhagen LBW. Joost Kroesen in.

Close enough to dry here the umpires decide. Vinoo Tewarie and Rahil Ahmed take to the middle for Dosti, Gunning opens the bowling for VRA. Tidy from him, just a single through cover off the last ball. Mia to share the new ball.
Excelsior ’20 vs Sparta 1888 11:10

Rod Lyall 10:22
And good morning (/afternoon/evening) from Rod Lyall, at a somewhat underpopulated and distinctly grey Loopveld. But the teams and the umpires are here, and so are we, to bring you live updates from ACC’s attempt to put themselves out of danger. There is a definite end-of-season, almost autumnal feel to things – and not much mellow fruitfulness.
☁ Weather Update ☁ 10.01
A bit grey this morning, overcast and muggy here in Amsterdam and a similar situation elsewhere we gather. There’s no rain expected and we’ve even been promised a little sunshine later, but for now it’s the sort of weather that, rightly or wrongly, swing bowlers traditionally get excited about.
Bertus de Jong 09:59
Good Morning all and welcome back for this penultimate round of Topklasse matches. Just fun and games at the top of the table now that VOC have bagged the title, but still plenty serious at the bottom end, with Punjab, Quick and ACC still at risk of relegation. Punjab have the most to worry about, though a win against VOC at Hazelaarweg will keep their survival hopes alive another week. Quick can secure safety with a win against HBS at Craeyenhout if Punjab can’t find a win against the Champions, otherwise their final game against Punbjab may well turn out to be a straight shoot-out for Topklasse survival. ACC need either of their rivals to lose, or to bag points today when they take on HCC at het Loopveld. Meanwhile at Drieburg Dosti take on VRA in what is now a largely ceremonial Amsterdam Derby, whilst at Thurlede Excelsior welcome Sparta as they jostle for pride and mid-table position. We’re about half an hour from tossing time, in the meanwhile, here’s the preview.
