This match turned on eight overs in the Voorburg innings, in the course of which the home side slumped from 82 for two to 94 for seven. There was no way back from there, and although Brandon Glover and Yasir Hamid flourished briefly, Umar Baker’s six-wicket haul was a match-winning effort on a pitch which again made batting very tricky indeed. Glover and Viv Kingma worked hard to achieve an unlikely fightback when Excelsior replied, but with Tim Etman surviving chances and near-chances for a dogged 81 the Schiedammers battled their way to a seven-wicket victory.
