Bertus de Jong 19:02
So Excelsior close out a thriller in round of blow-outs, Hilditch the hero though VRA, Dunlop aside, really only have themselves to blame. Woeful from the top order, dodgy in the field and 24 wides in the innings. Meanhwile HBS and Dosti both comfortly defended what looked like sub-par totals as Sparta and Quick imploded with the bat, Westdijk and Hafeez starring with the ball. HCC managed little better against VOC whilst Punjab came back strong with Myburgh staging a spectacular return to form at het Loopveld, Raza a commendable understudy.
That’s a wrap here from us at TKC, but we’ll be back on Saturday for the next round, join us then.

Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:52
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 177-7 in 48.1 overs
Speared down leg first up from Kingma and they run one too. that’s the 25th extra in the innings. Hilditch turns the next square and a misfield gifts them the single. Phenomenal innings from Hilditch, he finishes unbeaten on 62. Excelsior win by 3 wickets.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:49
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 174-7 in 48 overs
Single to third man, single to third man, death by a thousand late cuts for VRA. Oh and also dropped catches. Hilditch put down by Turmaine at extra cover. Tough chance admittedly but it’s not easy defending 11 off 3 overs. Next ball inevitably goes for four, whipped away off the toes behind square. Won’t be easy defending 3 off 2 either.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:45
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 166-7 in 47 overs
More baffling wide calls met with cheers form the crowd as Kroesen is hit on the pads. Going down leg as the Raja goes up and the wide call presumably some sort of punishment for a silly appeal. 11 needed from 3. overs. Gunning still and Hilditch facing.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:39
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 160-7 in 46 overs
Thick outside edge first up but safe and they run two. Flashes at the next and it’s under the bat, called wide. Huge cheer from the crowd, scepticism in the scorer’s box. Flicks the next off his toes behind square for a hard-run two. next is down leg and a less controversial wide call. Risky single next and that’s fifty for Hilditch. Looks a match-winner too. Then drama! Kroesen drives to mid off and Hilditch is down the track, direct hit and VRA are celebrating! Meanwhile the batsmen are running and the finger stays down. Nine from the over. Game-changer. Raja into the attack.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:34
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 151-7 in 45 overs
Maiden over from Kingma, the third ball beating the outside edge, but he’s just got one over left now and Hilditch is still there. conferences now. Looks like Gunning taking over.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:26
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 151-7 in 44 overs
Kroesen pierces the off-side field but well chased down, they’re picking up the ones and twos but VRA are going hard in the field. 151 the total. Kingma still at the other end.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:26
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 146-7 in 43 overs
Spicy stuff from Kingma, beats Hilditch’s edge and finds Kroesen’s but it’s wide of slip, scoreboard ticks up. Turmaine continues.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:19
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 142-7 in 42 overs
Turmaine strikes! Holds a sharp return catch on a juggle and Woutersen’s gone. Gijs Kroesen in. Rens van Troost and Sohail Bhatti to come. Kingma returns. He has three overs left.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:15
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 139-6 in 41 overs
Huge appeal for LBW on Woutersen on the last ball, shot low into the pads on the full and looked a good shout. No joy though, Turmaine continues.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:12
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 136-6 in 40 overs
And Turmaine might have had a wicket in his first, Woutersen slices a cut low to backward point where Raja puts it down and is duly admonished by his young son on the sidelines. Borren to bowl his last
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 18:06
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 132-6 in 39 overs
So last game standing here, Borren bowling, two big shouts for LBW on Heggelman and the second draws the finger. David Woutersen in to join Hilditch who’s still there on 37. Turmaine into the attack.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 18:07
VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
HCC: 127 all out
And it’s all over at de Diepput, HCC all out for 127, Ninan last man standing on 45*.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 17:56
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 118-5 in 36 overs
Hilditch and Heggelman trying to put a partnership together, worth 16 so far Hilditch 32 off 70. 58 to get.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 17:30
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 103-5 in 32 overs
Kroesen holes out off Dunlop, van den Burg again with the catch. Heggelman in. VRA ahead on DLS for the first time in the game.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 17:27
VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
HCC: 97-8 in 36 overs
Conflicting reports as to who’s still at the wicket for HCC, seems Ali is still in and 30*. That would mean Peters and Ninan are both gone, but either way it doesn’t look likely to affect the result, with HCC 8-down and not even half-way.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 17:27
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
Punjab: 205-2 in 31.4 overs
It’s all over at Het Loopveld, but not before Myburgh reaches his twelfth hundred in the top flight, for his fourth different club. He ends on 101 from 95 deliveries. There was a strange moment a couple of overs from the finish, when it took a consultation between the umpires to determine that Khan was caught behind off Raza for 13. So it was Masood who saw it through to the end in company with the unstoppable Myburgh.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 17:22
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 100-4 in 30 overs
Hundred up for the hosts here, Hilditch resolute on 23 from about 50. Heggelman still to come but a fair tail after that. Lots on Hilditch here. Quite incredibly this may out to be the only close match of the day.
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 17:12
Dosti: 200-9 in 49 overs
Quick: 71 all out
Quick, meanwhile, have lost. Dosti have rolled them for for 71. Given that their scoreboard webcam is pointing resolutely at an empty football field, however, we do not currently have any further details.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 17:10
VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
HCC: 86-7 in 31 overs
Malik does for Ali Ahmed, Schoonheim with the catch. Just a matter of time now.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 17:02
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
Punjab: 180-1 in 26 overs
The departure of Raza and advent of Khan has brought some normality to proceedings, but Myburgh has moved on to 85 (from 78 deliveries) and may be thinking about the magic three figures. With 25 needed, it might be a damn close run thing.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 17:00
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 79-4 in 25 overs
And Raja gets the big man, absolute skier and the skipper’s under it coming in from mid on. Kroesen in. VRA are rather pleased.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 16:51
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
Punjab: 163-1 in 22.1 overs
And a great stand comes to an end as Raza tries to hit Saqib into the middle of next week and is bowled. The sight of Awais Khan trotting out will give ACC little comfort.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout Sparta 1888 16.40
HBS: 160 all out in 49.1 overs
Sparta: 61 all out in 21 overs
And it’s all over at Bermweg, a 99 run win for HBS after being bowled out for 160. That’s quite a comeback.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 16:39
VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
HCC: 50-6 in 22 overs
Wicket for Seelaar and a run out, Jonkman and Lagas gone. HCC crumbling.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 16:30
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
Punjab: 136-0 in 18 overs
Blessed relief for ACC in the form of a drinks interval, but the onslaught has reached critical levels. Raza hits a third six, nearly decapitating the KNCB chair (and thus the KNCB) in the process. His 68 has taken 49 balls, while Myburgh is relatively sedate, 62 from 59. David Schinkel informs us that if ACC achieved a six-wicket maiden, Punjab would still be ahead on DLS.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 16:29
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 57-3 in 16 overs
Drinks here and after some early scares normal service has resumed at Thurlede with Hilditch and Ingram together. A ways to go but this pair look well in control.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 16.25
HBS: 160 all out in 49.1 overs
Sparta: 59-9 in 19 overs
Wickets still tumbling at Bermweg, Barresi picking up the 9th. What a revelation he has been since he started turning his arm over. Our sources have not revealed the batsman, exact score or over bowled, perhaps judging them not to be terribly relevant at this point. Am inclined to agree, HBS cruising to victory.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 16:21
VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
HCC: 44-4 in 18 overs
And Hanif removes Overdijk too, caught O’Dowd for 22.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 16:14
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
Punjab: 105-0 in 14 overs
But it’s Myburgh who wins the race to the half-century, despatching the northern Raza over cow for six to move on to a 50-ball 52).
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 16:13
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 38-3 in 11.3 overs
And Borren finds the third, Etman nicks off and Hilditch joins Ingram. This is the partnership that’s won Excelsior the 2017 championship. Can it win them this match?
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 16:11
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
Punjab: 97-0 in 13 overs
The runfest continues, despite the advent of Zulfiqar senior in tandem with Raza. The other Raza has 48 (7 fours and a six), while Myburgh has 45 (six fours).
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 16:07
VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
HCC: 41-3 in 14 overs
Hanif puts a stop to the recovery, Staal caught at midwicket. Ninan in.

VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
HCC: 40-2 in 13 overs
Staal and Overdijk look to consolidate for HCC meanwhile after Klaassen’s early brace.
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 15:55
Dosti: 200-9 in 49 overs
Quick: 30-3 in 8 overs
No longer so uneventful Nieuw Hanenburg meanwhile, as Quick lose three wickets in the space of a single run. Stokkers, Bista, Davey gone.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 15.49
HBS: 160 all out in 49.1 overs
Sparta: 43-5 in 11 overs
Wickets still coming at Craeyenhout, Khan has his first, Sparta five down now.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 15:48
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
Punjab: 48-0 in 6 overs
The Punjab openers are not going to die wondering: for every boundary Myburgh hits, Raza hits the next one harder. They’ve already knocked Kumar out of the attack, Raza’s namesake on in his stead. Both are going at better than a run a ball.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 15:44
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 19-2 in 5.1 overs
Deeply silly run out there, Shankar wants to take on Dunlops arm, Etman disagrees. Ingram in.
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 13:42

Quick: 21-0 in 5 overs

Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 15:33
Dosti: 200-9 in 49 overs
Quick: 21-0 in 5 overs
Comparatively uneventful start at Nieuw Hanenburg meanwhile, as Quick move to 21 without loss, Bist making the running at 17*.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 15:30
VRA: 176 all out in 50 overs
Excelsior: 5-1 in 3 overs
Early breakthrough here too, Kingma finds Verhagen’s edge and Szwarczynski makes no mistake. Shankar in at three.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 15:28
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
Punjab: 7-0 in 2 overs
All go as they get under way at Het Loopveld: Stef Myburgh almost plays on to the first ball from Dewald Botha from the Uylenstede End, then Ali Raza almost runs himself out two balls later. But Raza plays a fine off drive off Aryan Kumar’s first over from the River End.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 15:27
VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
HCC: 5-2 in 3 overs
Two in two for Klaassen too, wickets tumbling everywhere as Street edges and is held in front of slip by Edwards, and Gorlee is pinned in front next ball.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 15.26
HBS: 160 all out in 49.1 overs
Sparta: 24-4 in 7 overs

Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 15:23

Excelsior: 3-0 in 2 overs
Back on here at Thurlede too, Kingma and Gunning with the new ball, Verhagen and Etman opening for Excelsior, and Verhagen nicks through but dropped behind the wicket by deputy keeper Szwarczynski. Looking dangerous though.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 15.03
HBS: 160 all out in 49.1 overs
Sparta: 2-2 in 2 overs
So much for lunch. They’re back on at Bermweg and HBS are wasting no time. Westdijk and Coster both strike in their first overs to remove Bukhari and de Kok respectively.
Bertus de Jong 14:50
So some remarkable recoveries this morning from all but HBS, after most everyone struggled with the bat early. VRA still ended a good ways below par, but phenomenal from Dunlop to get them to a score worth bowling at. Interestingly poised for the rest. Join us after the break for the second inningses. I’m off for a spot of lunch.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 14:45
ACC: 204-6 in 50 overs
A big finish from Sikander Zulfiqar, who smacks a four and a six from the first two balls of Saleemi’s final over. Earlier, Zulfiqar senior went for 29, dropped at long on and then skying the next one to slip, where Masood took a fine diving catch. That’s a lot better than ACC seemed likely to achieve at one stage, and in conditions which aren’t easy for batting it’s certainly a total they can defend.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 14:41
VOC: 206-9 in 50 overs
No century for Edwards who finishes 90*, but a fine innings and a job to do with the bat for HCC after lunch.
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 14:40
Dosti: 209 all out in 50 overs
Hafeez stays till the end, 68* he made, 209 the total.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 14.33

Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 14.29
VRA: 172-9 in 49 overs
Dunlop cutting loose here, brings up his fifty and then celebrates with a towering six into the crowd in front of the pavilion. One to go.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 14:28
ACC: 176-5 in 46.1 overs
These two have now added 50 priceless runs, with Sikander having moved on to 44 and his father on to 25. Fascinating contrast in styles: the son playing very straight, dad not so much…
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 14:27
Dosti: 200-9 in 49 overs
Hafeez pressing on, he’s onto 58 *but down to his last partner in Arief Hoseinbaks. 200 up with 1 to go.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 14.22
VRA: 159-9 in 47.2 overs
No sooner written than the partnership is brought to an end, Raja down the track to Ingram misses and stumped. Kingma in.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 14.22
VRA: 159-8 in 47 overs
Meanwhile here at Thurlede Dunlop and Raja are making a case for promotion up the order, or perhaps just turning it entirely on its head. They’re on 27* and 45* respectively and have doubled the score with this partnership. Dunlop especially looking the business, down the track to deposit Ingram over his head for six.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 14:16
HBS: 160 all out in 49.1 overs
And HBS won’t make it past 160, Westdijk the last man out bowled Mohammad.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 14:11

Two-in-two for Overdijk as Schoonheim drags on and Klaassen is well caught at point by Tonny Staal. Baker in to join Edwards who’s on 71*.

ACC: 144-5 in 41.2 overs
The father-and-son combo of Ahmed and Sikander Zulfiqar is intent on reconstructing the ACC innings. but when the latter heaves Vorster into the shrubbery beyond midwicket there’s a prolonged search for the ball..
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 13:59
Dosti: 170-7 in 44 overs
Hafeez still going but he’s running low on partners, he’s on 44* as Davey does for Masood. Asief Hoseinbaks in.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 13:58
VOC: 168-5 in 42.5 overs
Ninan has another at HCC, bowling Malik for 14 to bring Jelte Schoonheim to the crease. Edwards still there on 69*
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 13:57
HBS: 139-9 in 45 overs
HBS in a state, Iqbal has de Mey stumped and Bukhari cleans up Khan.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 13.54
VRA: 118-8 in 41 overs
Raja and Dunlop still on salvage duties. 41 this partnership is worth now. Bhatti from the pavilion end and Raja not shy with his shots as he misses an expansive drive, the next is tucked to leg for one though and the scoreboard is ticking, if they bat the overs they’ll have something to bowl at at least.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 13:45
HBS: 128-7 in 41 overs
And that won’t help. Another run out, Wessel Coster this time.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 13:39
ACC: 126-5 in 35.5 overs
Raza gets under an attempted lofted on drive, and Mamoon Latif, running back at deepish mid-on, takes the catch. Raza beats the ground with his bat in frustration. The wicket is the cue for a drink, after which Ahmed Zulfiqar senior comes to the crease.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 13:35
HBS: 117-6 in 36 overs
Sparta still finding scalps at Bermweg, Ahmed run out now and 200 looking a long way off.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 13:33
VOC: 142-4 in 36.2 overs
Breakthrough at de Diepput, Street disassembles Seelaars stumps and he’s gone for 53. Malik in, Edwards still there on 57.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 13:29
ACC: 112-4 in 33.3 overs
Vorster switches ends to replace Bamunusinghe, who has bowled out, and with his third delivery traps Saqib in front for 45. Ali Raza joins Sikander, who had celebrated Masood’s return by belting him for successive fours.
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 13:27
Dosti: 140-5 in 37 overs
Meanwhile Doc Mol has his third, he’s done for Tewarie and now Anees Davids caught for 9, Hafeez still there on 25.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 3.24
VRA: 92-8 in 34 overs
Drinks here and Raja and Dunlop with the rearguard action, Ingram still and Kroesen now operating at the other end. Shankar to take over from Ingram at the scoreboard end it looks like, gonna bowl some left arm orthodox looks like.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 13:14
VOC: 131-3 in 33 overs
Fifties each for Seelaar and Edwards, the depth of the VOC batting telling somewhat and they’ve a decent platform.
☀ Weather Update ☁ 13:05
It’s lovely weather in Schiedam, but extremely cold in Amsterdam. Presumably it just OK in the Hague.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 13:05
ACC: 75-2 in 23 overs
Legspinner Bernard Vorster into the attack, and in his second over Rasool swings at a straight one and sees his leg stump knocked back. Sikander in.

And Snoep amongst the wickets now, Gomes goes too, HBS on the ropes.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 12.56
VRA: 79-8 in 27 overs
Well that wasn’t very clever. Turmaine runs himself out, looking for a single off a ball that went straight to David Woutersen. Raja in. And Gunning goes four balls later looking to swipe a half-tracker from Ingram somewhere into the leg side but bottom edging into the stumps. Dunlop in.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 12:51
ACC: 75-2 in 23 overs
A little flurry when Saqib smacks Bamunusinghe for two boundaries in one over, but otherwise steady progress by ACC, Rasool starting watchfully on his promotion to four.

Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 12:26
Dosti: 82-2 in 23 overs
And another for Bista as he grabs a return catch to deny Ahmed a half century. Hafeez in at four
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 12.20
VRA: 59-6 in 18 overs
Hilditch returns after drinks and opens with a no ball on Gunning, low full toss on the free hit is driven to mid on for one. Tidy for the rest, Gunning and Turmaine watchful, still lots of rebuilding to be done though if they’re to turn a shambles into a mere embarrassment.

HBS: 26-2 in 12 overs
HBS lose another, Toby Visee run out.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 11.50
VRA: 48-5 in 12 overs
The procession continues here. Borren looking to put Heggelman onto the train tracks but can only send it skywards, Rens van Troost under it and no mistake. And another two balls later, Heggleman sends it through to Verhagen’s gloves past ter Braak’s bat, absolutely top-notch celebrappeal though and up goes the finger. Van den Burg and Turmaine the new batsmen.
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 11:42
Dosti: 31-0 in 10 overs
Meanwhile at Nieuw Hanenburg Dosti openers Tewarie and Ahmed (we assume) press on, 31 without loss.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 11:40

Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 11.37
VRA: 40-3 in 9 overs
And another here, the VRA batsmen have looked eminently comfortable except on the balls where they’re getting out. Heggelman brings himself on and bags Coooper with the last ball of the over, caught behind Verhagen. And next over another! Bhatti strikes first over too and Szwarczynski’s gone LBW. Borren in and VRA on the ropes.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 11:34
VOC: 24-1 in 26.1 overs
And the first breakthrough at de Deipput too, Ninan has Rutgers trapped LBW for 14. O’Dowd and van Baren in.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 11:27
ACC: 11-0 in 2 overs
Suleiman Tariq opens from the River End to Asad Zulfiqar, while elder brother Rehmet faces Assad Saleemi from the Uylenstede End. When Saleemi drops short, Rehmet pulls him powerfully behind square for six. 11 without loss after two overs.
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 11:24
Dosti: 18-0 in 5 overs
Dosti meanwhile off to a solid start at Nieuw Hanenburg. 18 without loss after 5.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 11.23
VRA: 27-1 in 6 overs
Singh and ter Braak off to a fine start here, van Troost pitching it up but gives Singh too much room and is driven handsomely square for four. Repeats the shot next ball but this time the point fielder sees it coming and puts in a great stop. Next over another as ter Braak drives Hildich back past him bisecting mids on and off, and another straight drive brings Singh four more in the next, and then suddenly a wicket from nowhere. And most unfortunate too, another fine straight drive from ter Braak and van Troost gets a hand to it, onto the stumps at the non-strikers and Singh goes for 21. He looked on for a score too. Cooper in at 3.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 11:18
HBS: 4-1 in 3 overs
Early breakthrough at Bermweg, Barresi trapped LBW.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 11.05
VRA: 7-0 in 2 overs
And some team news here too, though not very much. Excelsior unchanged since last week whilst Turmaine returns for VRA, with Szwarczynski taking the gloves as Mitch Lees is out of the country. Meanwhile we’re 2 overs in here, Hilditch and van Troost share the new ball, Singh and ter Braak opening for VRA. Hilditch keeps it tight, just one from it, misfields in the next offer some freebies for the visitors though.
ACC Amsterdam vs Punjab Rotterdam 10:59
Good morning from Rod Lyall at Het Loopveld, where a little overnight rain has delayed proceedings by 15 minutes or so. The sun is now struggling to break through, Punjab have won the toss and elected to field, and we should be getting under way in a quarter of an hour. Punjab are splendiferous in a new blue and gold playing strip, while team news from the ACC camp is that Richardt Frenz is missing after suffering from flu during the week.
Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout 10:49
And the hosts have the toss at Bermweg, Sparta invite HBS to bat first.
HCC vs VOC Rotterdam 10:45
News from de Diepput too, HCC have the toss and will bowl first.
Quick Haag vs Dosti-United 10:38
Meanwhile at Nieuw Hanenburg Jeroen Brand calls correctly for the hosts and has asked Dosti to bat first.
Excelsior ‘20 vs VRA Amsterdam 10:35
And the word here at Thurlede is that VRA have won the toss and will have a bat.
☁ Weather Update ☁ 10:32
After three days of baking sunshine the Dutch spring has rather reverted to the mean, overcast and a little chilly here in Schiedam and the story much the same across the country. Amsterdam’s had a bit of drizzle this morning but that looks to be moving off, and a look at the radar gives cause for cautious optimism.
Bertus de Jong 10:30
Good morning all and welcome to our coverage of this Ascension Day round of Topklasse matches. Last weekend’s opening round sprang plenty of surprises, with the much-fancied VRA, HBS and VOC all going down to defeat, they’ll be looking to bounce back today as they travel to Excelsior, Sparta and HCC respectively. Meanwhile ACC will be looking to build on a good start when they take on Punjab at het Loopveld, whilst Quick Haag welcome current table-toppers Dosti-United to Nieuw Hanenburg. I’m here at Thurlede, Rod’s at het Loopveld, and we should have some toss news for you shortly. Still about half an hour from the action though, so plenty of time to check out Rod’s preview if you haven’t already.
