The Topklasse table after Round 8

 Bertus de Jong  19:36
There you have it, ladies and gents. HCC seal the deal with a round still to go, they’ll finish top of the Topklasse table for the first time since 2008, albeit without the title of Champions. They can still aim to finish the season undefeated however, which even in this abbreviated edition would be quite the achievement. They’ll be at VOC next week to try to claim that distinction, and of course there’s still bragging rights and fantasy points on the line in the final round, so do join us again then.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  19:35
HCC: 244-6 (35 overs)
Punjab: 181 all out(33.5 overs)
And still hold up the celebrations they certainly did. A 70+ run stand for the last wicket is brought to an end as Zulfiqar is bowled 1 short of a century, and HCC make certain their spot at the top of the table.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  19:06
HCC: 244-6 (35 overs)
Punjab: 103-9 (24 overs)
And there’s the collapse. Sikander Zulfiqar still there on 33*, but it’s been a procession at the other end. Skipper and last man Tariq with him in the middle now holding up the celebrations.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  18:46
HCC: 244-6 (35 overs)
Punjab: 72-5 (19 overs)
16 overs to go, asking rate well into double digits. HCC can surely smell the (lack of) silverware at this stage.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  18:36
HCC: 244-6 (35 overs)
Punjab: 66-5 (17 overs)
Another for Klaus and Punjab have used half their overs and half their wickets to reach 66.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  18:19
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 175-6 (45 overs)
All over at Craeyenhout, de Mey sees them home with an unbeaten 71, Fink with him to the end, finishing on 22*.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  18:16
HCC: 244-6 (35 overs)
Punjab: 47-4 (9 overs)
Punjab in trouble meanwhile in the evenings’other going concern, Floyd grabs his third catch of the match, this time off Ollie Klaus, and Punjab four down. Not clear who’s at the crease now, but safe bet there’s at least one Zulfiqar.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  18:15
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 155-6 (42 overs)
De Mey moves into the 60s, Vink with him on 15. Asking rate not a problem, ACC need to *make something happen* here.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   17:52
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 198 all out (? overs)
All over at Bermweg too, Bukhari back and cleans up Hartsink with his first ball, Raja at the other end left stranded 71 short of a century.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  17:33
Dosti: 127 all out (36.3 overs)
Voorburg: 131-3 (23 overs)
De Leede sees his side home with an unbeaten 46*, he lost Dutt along the way for 35, but the result never really looked in doubt.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  18:05
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 141-6 (40 overs)
Another Topklasse fifty for Julian de Mey meanwhile, and could be a decisive knock too.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  18:01
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 138 ao (47.5 overs)
Excelsior just left themselves too much to do at the death here, Heggelman aims a cross-batted mow at Schoonheim and is castled. Ingram still there on 30 but stranded at the wrong end as Arun nicks off first ball, and that’s the game.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   17:52
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 175-9 (? overs)
The end is nigh for VRA, Abid caught off a full toss to bring to an end a defiant 9th wicket stand. Hartsink in to join Raja.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  17:52
HCC: 244-6 (35 overs)
Punjab: 36-3 (6 overs)
We hear now that it was in fact Patel that was heroically run out on the last ball of the HCC innings rather than Overdijk, who makes up for it with the crucial early wicket of Myburgh. Punjab lose another two in the next, 36-3 in the sixth over.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  17:48
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 128-8 (45.3 overs)
Asking rate does for Baker too, attempts an ill-advised ramp at Malik and there goes the entire palace, to borrow a phrase and translate it poorly. Heggelman in

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  17:33
Dosti: 127 all out (36.3 overs)
Voorburg: 88-2 (18 overs)
De Leede and Dutt (for it is he) look set to get this done for VCC. Both in the 20s now and well set, 40 to get and plenty of time to get them.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  17:45
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 127-7 (45 overs)
Etman falls prey to the urgency, undone by a direct hit by Malik on a risky single. Baker in.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  17:42
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 112-5 (35 overs)
De Mey and Boddendijk still for HBS, the latter on 15*, the former on 41*. 60 to get in 15.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  17:35
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 120-6 (43 overs)
Excelsior have found their acceleration now, and have been on or about the asking rate of sixes since the wicket fell. Malik and Jain for VOC.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  17:33
Dosti: 127 all out (36.3 overs)
Voorburg: 66-2 (15 overs)
VCC meanwhile have progressed almost half-way through their chase. Pieterse gone though, caught behind for 24. Bas de Leede in now together with another batsman presumably.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   17:30
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 156-8 (33 overs)
Lees has since departed, nicking off for 21 some time ago. Raja and Abid in the middle for VRA now but batting for pride or practice at this point you’d say.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  17:25
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 107-6 (41 overs)
Hanif strikes straight after drinks, Etman on the charge and flashing at a wide one, flies high and to the left of point where Malik takes a great catch. The last van Troost joins Ingram, who seems to have decided it’s go time, smashing the next ball away through square leg for four.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  17:23
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 89-5 (30 overs)
Ahmed gone too, caught off Arya for 16. Boddendijk joins de Mey, who’s on 27*.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  17:15
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 102-5 (40 overs)
Hundred finally comes up in the 40th over, but the asking rate is very nearly a run a ball at this point.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  17:12
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 70-4 (25 overs)
De Mey and Ahmed steadying things somewhat for HBS, de Mey on 25* and the defecit almost down to double figures at the half-way point. ACC still on top for now though.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  17:07
HCC: 244-6 (35 overs)
HCC pass 200 and then some in a huge 34th over, extras cashing in too there with a bagful of wides and 28 to the total. The runs keep coming in the last too, Patel ends unbeaten on 35, Overdijk is commendably run out on the final ball, his personal tally hasn’t reached us yet but will be substantial you’d think. Great finish from HCC there.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  17:02
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 87-5 (36 overs)
Etman and Ingram letting the game drift rather here, the latter bats out a maiden to Malik, just 5 runs in the last five overs. Required rate up over fives now.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  16:57
HCC: 196-5 (33 overs)
Overdijk and Patel doing good work for HCC meanwhile, closing in on the 200-mark.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  16:56
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 51-4 (20 overs)
HBS lose another as Singh is caught in the cordon off Raza for a duck. Ahmed in to join de Mey, 171 looking a decent score at this point.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   16:55
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 117-7 (21.? overs)
VRA properly on the slide now as Gunning plays on for 16. Raja in to join Lees but the writing’s on the wall.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  16:52
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 83-5 (32 overs)
Malik returns and removes Joost Kroesen for 12, flicking a full delivery up into the on side and caught. Ingram in to join Etman and a lot still to do, Excelsior barely half-way now and just 18 overs remaining…

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  16:49
Dosti: 127 all out (36.3 overs)
Voorburg: 26-1 (4 overs)
Remco van der Giessen has gone.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   16:47
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 117-6 (21 overs)
Three for Saleem, Turmaine bowled for 2. But now Lees joins Gunning, in what is probably a make-or-break partnership for VRA.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  16:42
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 78-4 (30 overs)
Van Wingerden has the younger Kroesen caught for 30 spooning a ball up to mid on off the back foot, and Etman joins the elder Kroesen.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  16:41
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 44-3 (17 overs)
Scholte soon follows, caught by Raza off Zaidi for 5. Navjit Singh joins De Mey, and HBS could do with a repeat of their partnership last Sunday.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  16:41
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 41-2 (15 overs)
Coster goes full stop. Run out for 13 by a direct hit from Anis Raza. Martijn Scholte in at four.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  16:35
HCC: 164-5 (29 overs)
Ahmad goes for 61, followed immediately by Clayton Floyd. But Overdijk’s still there on 44.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   16:32
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 97-5 (18 overs)
And Saleem adds Borren’s scalp, caught by Snoep for 38. Turmaine joins Gunning, but with all due respect to the VRA lower order you have to think that’s probably the game, right there.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  16:26
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 65-3 (26 overs)
Upadhyaya removes van Troost, through the gate and into middle. Two Kroesens at the crease now as Joost joins Luuk, who’s on 24.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  16:26
HCC: 133-3 (26 overs)
Ahmad moves to.56, Overdijk to 26 – this is a vital partnership for HCC!

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  16:23
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 27-1 (10 overs)
Coster goes after Arya, hitting him for a four and a six in the same over.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   16:22
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 77-4 (13 overs)
Nashier goes, bowled by Uman Saleem. Quirijn Gunning the new man.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  16:09
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 52-2 (20.4 overs)
Van Troost finally goes after a belaboured 4 off 25, had been looking to hit out for a while but only gets a leading edge off Schoonheim to be caught at point, to be replaced by Jelte after drinks.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  16:09
Dosti: 127 all out (36.3 overs)
And we can now reveal that Sukumar Raji top-scored for Dosti with 37, and that Viv Kingma took three for 23 for Voorburg.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  16:05
ACC: 171 all out (44.3 overs)
HBS: 10-1 (5 overs)
Mees van Vliet has the first breakthrough, taking a return catch to remove Reece Mason for 7.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   16:03
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 70-3 (12 overs)
Borren is showing all his experience, and has reached 33 from 27 deliveries. And young Nashier is giving him good support, 11 from 10 deliveries at this stage.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  15:59
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 49-1 (19 overs)
The scoring has slowed up appreciably since Verhagen’s departure, but Excelsior still have plenty of overs and wickets to play with. Upadhyaya and Schoonheim operating now for VOC. Van Troost looks to lift the latter over midwicket but doesn’t quite get hold of it, shouts of catch it but the chance goes begging.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  15:56
HCC: 93-3 (19 overs)
Gorlee goes, replaced by Hidde Overdijk. Ahmad’s still there, on 43.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  15:53
Dosti: 127 all out (??overs)
Hope to be able to tell you a bit more shortly.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  15:45
HCC: 88-2 (18 overs)
They’re taking a drink at the Zomercomplex. What’s a decent score for HCC here? A minimum of 200, you’d think, maybe more.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  15:36
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 34-1 (11 overs)
Verhagen edges down the track to Hanif and deploys a fine-looking lofted drive high back over his head for four, then looks to repeat the shot but places the ball directly into the hands of mid off. Gone for 24. Stan van Troost in at three.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   15:33
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 26-2 (6.5 overs)
They’re off for rain at the Bermweg.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  15:26
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 25-0 (9 overs)
Jain and Hanif replace van Wingerden and Malik, and of a sudden the runs begin to flow. Verhagen dispatches Jain’s first ball to the rope through extra off the back foot, and takes two more boundaries off Hanif’s first over,

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  15:21
HCC: 65-2 (11 overs)
Crowley doesn’t last long. Boris Gorlee in at four.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   15:20
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 20-2 (4 overs)
Bukhari strikes again, with Cooper caught by Hoornweg off the first ball he receives. Peter Borren joins Singh, with VRA in early trouble.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  15:17
ACC 171 all out (44.3 overs)
Coster finishes it off, and ends with four for 24, Steven Vink taking three for 26. We assume there will be a (small) DLS adjustment.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  15:11
VOC : 160 all out (45.4 overs)
Excelsior : 7-0 (5 overs)
Back underway at Hazelaarweg, Roel Verhagen and Luuk Kroesen opening for Excelsior, Ahsan Malik shares the new ball with van Wingerden. A Cautious start so far, just a smattering of singles.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  15:13
Dosti: 95-7 (27 overs)
But regrettably, we can tell you no more than that.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   15:11
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
VRA: 8-1 (1 over)
They’re back at the Bermweg: Singh and Rasool start brightly against Bukhari, but the Sparta captain has his revenge, trapping Rasool in front.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  15:09
HCC: 51-1 (9 overs)
Staal goes, caught for 24. Damian Crowley joins Ahmad.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  15:03
Dosti: 89-5 (25 overs)
But regrettably, we can tell you no more than that.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  14:47
ACC 162-9 (40 overs)
Coster traps Hosur in front for 12. Mees van Vliet joins Zaidi. And then another LBW brings last man Arya to the crease.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  14:49
HCC: 21-0 (4 overs)
Musa Nadeem Ahmad and Tonny Staal opening for HCC.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  14:47
ACC 148-7 (?? overs)
Raza and Mulready go in the same over of Stephan Vink, who has now 3 wickets. Ammar Zaïdi the new batsman in.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  14:42
Dosti: 73-4 (20 overs)
But regrettably, we can tell you no more than that.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  14:39
ACC 137-4 (38 overs)
One brings two, as Kumar is caught on the boundary by Coster off Steven Vink’s bowling and departs for 36.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   14:29
Sparta: 227-9 (50 overs)
A handy little stand between Hoornweg and Snoep gets Sparta up to 227, which will take some getting. Borren finishes with three for 50.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  14:26
ACC 137-4 (37.1 overs)
Potdar is bowled by Wessel Coster for 47. Kumar, now on 36, is joined by Anis Raza. Very handy stand of 80 there.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  14:17
ACC 118-3 (30 overs)
A useful stand between Potdar and Kumar, now on 31 and 35 respectively.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  14:14
VOC : 160 all out (45.5 overs)
Schoonheim finally goes as he always looked likely too, swinging across the line and launching a looping thick edge up into the off side off Rensvan Troost, which is duly pouched by the third van Troost – young Stan. Forget in, annd Forget out, castled first ball. Van Wingerden in (for real this time) and leaves on on off stump. Three in four balls for van Troost and that’s that.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   14:12
Sparta: 203-9 (46 overs)
Wickets again coming in battalions for Sparta, as Borren removes first Usman Saleem and then Ibrahimkhil, who made a rapid 28. Hoornweg and Snoep the final pair.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  14:09
VOC : 159-7 (45 overs)
Back to back fours off the first two balls of the 44th for Schoonheim, who is swinging away merrily. The second was a french cut across the stumps but that won’t bother him too much, though the same can’t be said for Rens van Troost. Some consolation for the team however as Upadhyaya (who had been masquerading as van Wingerden in the scorecard) is run out by a direct hit from Jelte van Troost. He is replaced, we are assured, by Bobby Hanif, who blocks out a maiden to Arun.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  14:07
HCC:
News from Rotterdam is that a 35-over match will start at 14:30. Winning the toss, Suleiman Tariq has invited the visitors to have a bat.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   14:01
Sparta: 184-6 (43.2 overs)
Borren back, and he accounts for Latif, caught by Hartsink for 12. Enter Manminder Singh.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  13:58
ACC 97-3 (25 overs)
That rain break means the game’s been reduced to 48 overs. Potdar and Kumar are still there, each on 24.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  13:55
VOC : 146-6 (42 overs)
Rutgers getting creative now with the field up, ramps Arun over his shoulder for a hard-run three, comes a cropper first ball of the next over though as he looks to swing van Troost away over the on side, misses, and is duly bowled. Van Wingerden joins Schoonheim for the 7th wicket.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  13:49
Dosti: 20-2 (6 overs)
A wicket each for Qasim and Kingma.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  13:46
VOC : 140-5 (40 overs)
Malik doesn’t long survive his partner, playing across the line to van Troost and struck on the pad, fine celebrappealing from van Troost and up goes the finger. Malik gone for 53. Rutgers in.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   13:43
Sparta: 165-5 (40 overs)
A flurry of wickets now, as Nashier comes into the attack and removes Raza, caught by Vikram Singh for 73. A wicket maiden’s an outstanding start, and then Abids trikes again: Iqbal caught by Gunning without scoring. Mamoon Latif and Nasratullah Ibrahimkhil batting now.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  13:40
VOC : 135-4 (38.3 overs)
Arun back for the 39th and finally the breakthrough. Malik looks to paddle behind square but the ball loops out toward midwicket, both batsmen watching the ball and Jain is half-way down the track before realising Malik hasn’t moved, the throw beats the dive and he’s gone for 62. Schoonheim in next, but first drinks.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  13:35
Still indecision at the Zomercomplex; another inspection at 13:40, we believe.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  13:33
VOC : 135-3 (38 overs)
Etman back for the 37th, overpitched outside off on the fifth ball and Malik drives through extra to bring up his fifty and the century partnership. Both batsmen happy to free the arms now as Jain drives van Troost wide of mid on for four more first ball of the 38th.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   13:32
Sparta: 162-3 (37 overs)
Abid back into the attack, and he immediately has Bukhari caught by Cooper for 28. Raza’s still there on 73, joined now by Faisal Iqbal.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  13:25
ACC 72-3 (20 overs)
But they’re off for rain at Craeyenhout. Potdar currently on 20.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  13:24
Dosti: 0-0 (1 over)
They’re under way at Westvliet, Viv Kingma starting with a maiden over to Shahdab Ghori, who’s opened with Waheed Masood. Ali Ahmed Qasim from the other end.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  13:23
VOC : 121-3 (35 overs)
Van Troosts at both ends now as Rens comes back into the attack to join Jelte. The latter gifts Jain a full toss on the fourth ball of the 35th and Jain takes full; advantage, heaved away over the on side to bring up a maiden Topklasse half century, crucial knock too in the circumstances. Malik’s not far behind him on 45*.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   13:20
Sparta: 143-2 (34 overs)
Raza continues on to 68, and Bukhari has started purposefully as well. He’s on 14, with Adeel Raja VRA’s seventh bowler.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  13:09
ACC: 57-3 (15 overs)
Ferdi Vink replaces De Mey, and in his second over bowls McInerney for 34. Potdar’s on 11, and is joined by Aryan Kumar.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  13:03
VOC: 102-3 (30 overs)
Jain cuts Heggelman away through point to take the total into three figures in the 30th over, he’s on 44* now, Malik 36*.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   12:59
Sparta: 118-2 (27.3 overs)
VRA get a much-needed breakthrough as Cooper comes into the attack and Ambrose is caught by Nashier for 53. Raza’s on 57 as Bukhari comes to the crease.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  12:58
VOC: 91-3 (28 overs)
Heggelman returns for the 28th but Jain and Malik stick to their task, their partnership worth 62 now. Back to seam at the other end too, van Troost returns.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   12:55
Sparta: 117-1 (26 overs)
Both batsmen have reached their half-centuries, Ambrose now on 53 and Raza on 56.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  12:52
Dosti have won the toss and elected to bat. The match has been reduced to 43 overs a side.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  12:50
ACC: 46-2 (10 overs)
McInerney goes onto the attack, smacking Geenevasen for three fours in an over and then a couple more off Navjit Singh.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  12:47
The toss is at 12:45 at Westvliet, looking at a 13:15 start. More news shortly!

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  12:45
Inspection at 13:00 at the Zomercomplex, with the toss ten minutes later if all is well.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  12:43
VOC : 78-3 (24 overs)
Arun replaces Baker, four runs off his first. Ingram beats the bat and the keeper again in his next for four more valuable runs. Jain and Malik one shy of a fifty partnership now.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   12:42
Sparta: 101-1 (22 overs)
And the stand extends to a hundred, with Ambrose on 45 and Raza on 48. Leon Turmaine into the attack, with VRA seriously in need of a wicket.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  12:37
ACC 21-2 (5 overs)
A return catch by De Mey removes Ramesh Babu, and then a direct hit by him accounts for last week’s centurion, Chris Knoll. Shreyas Potdar joins McInerney at the crease.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  12:23
VOC : 65-3 (21 overs)
Ingram drops short and is driven straight for four off the back foot by Malik, who’s still punishing anything loose. Bit of width from Baker next over and driven away through the off side for four more. Big shout for caught behind on Jain in Ingram’s next, but he’ll have to settle for a maiden. Malik on 19* now, Jain on 28*.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   12:30
Sparta: 82-1 (18 overs)
The scoring rate has slowed a tad, but the partnership’s up to 81, with Ambrose on 37 now and Raza on 44.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  12:23
VOC : 54-3 (18 overs)
Spin at both ends now as Ingram takes over from van Troost, threatens the edge a couple of times, but the second time beats the keeper too for four byes.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  12:22
ACC 8-0 (2 overs)
De Mey and Geenevasen open the bowling for HBS; more we cannot tell you, although we understand it’s still a 50-over game.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   12:06
Sparta: 73-1 (14 overs)
Sparta racing along at 5 an over; Raza is on 37 at a run a ball, 28 of them from boundaries, with Ambrose of 32.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  12:13
VOC : 41-3 (15 overs)
Understandable caution from this pair at the moment, but Malik isn’t going to miss out on a wide half-volley from van Troost, dispatched to the rope through cover. Another gimme from van Troost on the last ball of the 15th is flicked away behind square by Jain for four more.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   12:06
Sparta: 45-1 (10 overs)
Ambrose and Raza consolidating now after that early wicket, Luke Hartsink replacing Abid in the attack. And now Peter Borren will roll his arm over.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  12:03
VOC : 30-3 (12 overs)
Double bowling change as Rens van Troost replaces Etman and Baker takes over from Heggelman. And it pays off almost at once, Durrani going after Baker on the last ball fo the 12th but succeeds only in chipping the ball up to mid off. Ahsan Malik in at five. The rain is back, but nothing too heavy yet.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  11:55
VOC : 23-2 (10 overs)
Wide and full from Heggelman and Jain takes advantage, driving handsomely in front of point for the first boundary of the innings in the eighth over. Finds another in the tenth, overpitched again from Heggelman and driven straighter. Otherwise uneventful.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   11:53
Sparta: 30-1 (6 overs)
A massive blow for VRA as Quirijn Gunning traps Lenert van Wijk in front with the third ball of the match, and the first he faced. But Ali Raza joins Ambrose in the middle and immediately goes after the bowling, racing to 23 off 15 deliveries.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  11:45
They were looking at a 12:30 start at the Zomercomplex, but it’s raining there again now.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  11:43
VOC : 10-2 (7 overs)
Another gone, a soft dismissal really, de Kok driving Etman straight to mid off and Heggelman holds a simple catch. Jain at four.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  11:37
Another inspection at Craeyenhout at 11:45.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  11:36
VOC 6-1 (5 overs)
Slow going here as de Kok and Durrani look to steady things after the early wicket. Spot of rain coming down now too, but not enough to bring them off yet.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  11:35
The covers are off at the Zomercomplex as well, and things are looking promising.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  11:32
And we understand there will an inspection at 12:00.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  11:25
VOC 2-1 (2 overs)
We’re underway at Hazelaarweg, and early trouble for the hosts. Rohan Malik opening with Durrani, Niels Etman’s first over passes without much incident, but Tom Heggelman from the other end strikes with his first ball, Malik looking to brush it off his pads, misses and pinned in front. De Kok in at three.

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  11:24
Aha! The covers are coming off at Westvliet.

 VOC vs Excelsior ‘20  11:06
A 15 minute delay is the word from Hazelaarweg, affording a little extra time for ceremony as Jelte Schoonheim is awarded a cap to mark his 500th senior appearance for the club.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   11:02
Better news from the Bermweg, where they’re aiming to start at 11:30. Sparta have won the toss and elected to bat.

  HBS Craeyenhout vs ACC  10:59
There’s been a lot of rain at Craeyenhout, but we understand they’re looking at a 12:00 start. In other news, we’re told that Tobias Visée has cut through a tendon in a finger, and won’t be playing. Tkcricket’s very best wishes to him!

 Voorburg CC vs Dosti  10:52
And ditto at Westvliet.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs HCC  10:51
Rain at the Zomercomplex means a delayed start there.

 VOC vs HBS Craeyenhout   10:49
Word in from Hazelaarweg, it was dry enough for a toss early, which Corey Rutgers won and decided the hosts will have a bat. There’s been a brief shower since but they’re still hoping for a timely start.

 Sparta 1888 vs VRA   10:45
The news from Capelle is that it’s raining. Not what we wanted to hear.

 Rod Lyall  10:10
Good morning etc. to everyone, and welcome to TKcricket’s coverage of the penultimate round of matches in this short Dutch season. HCC can make sure of the title-that-isn’t if they beat Punjab today, but there will be plenty more happening around the country and we’re the people to keep you abreast of it. Sander will be at the Zomercomplex, of course, while Bertus will be bringing us his view of events at the Hazelaarweg. And I’ll be covering the rest, from the vantage point of my Sydney living room. News of the tosses a.s.a.p.
