The Topklasse League Phase table after round 10

 Bertus de Jong  18:27
Well after a quite remarkably competitive round last weekend, a series of blow-outs today. This contest here at the Bos came closest to looking competitive, at least while Peter Borren was at the crease. In the end the hosts’ sloppiness at the back end and Scott Edwards’ clinical exploitation of what he’d likely admit was a run of good luck saw VOC post a total that needed a team effort to overhaul. For the rest a collection of rather limp efforts with the bat this morning ended any real jeoprady in three of the five games, while the exact opposite put the game at Zomercomplex to bed by lunch. Here’s hoping for a more closely-contested round next week, until then this is Bertus de Jong signing off from a chilly but gezellige VRA balcony.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  18:19
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 171 all out (44.3 overs)
All over at the Zomercomplex too, Nidamanuru finishes things off and despite some creditable fight from Dosti Punjab win by a quite remarkable margin of 204 runs.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  18:15
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 230-9 (50 overs)
VRA’s last pair showing some fight too, Rathore drives Fletcher for two, VOC still showing admirable commitment in the field too as that’s chased down, then cuts for four. The win was well beyond them though of course, 38 runs the margin in the end.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  18:11
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 169-9 (44 overs)
Dosti down to their last pair now too, Nidamanuru removes Hoseinabaks and Ul Haq bags two in his next.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  18:08
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 219-9 (48 overs)
And that’s the game here too, frustration building for Borrena as a pair of attempted reverse sweeps to Schoonheim fail to come off, yorks himself first ball of Fletcher’s next. He goes for what might have been a match-winning 84 had he had some support or the last few overs of the first innings gone differently. Abid in, fifty needed off the last two.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  17:58
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 167-6 (41 overs)
Nidamanuru removes Perumal meanwhile, Hoseinbaks in to join Srinivasan, who remains defiant. Takes two boundaries off Nidamanuru’s next, lost cause of course but commendable defiance.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  17:58
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 207-8 (46 overs)
Borren brings up the 200 for VRA punching Fletcher out to long on for two, harder and higher in same direction for four next ball. Chases a wide one but mishit andaudible frustration as he has to settle for a single, and you see why next ball as Nashier fails to clear Seelaar at mid off. Rathore in, 62 to get in the last four, Borren 82* and facing, would take something spectacular. Schoonheim for the 47th.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  17:48
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 150-5 (37 overs)
Meanwhile at the Zomercomplex Ravichandran and Srinivasan are determined to at least make Punjab field the full 50 overs. 150 up for Dosti, the target is miles away of course but time in the middle may lend them some confidence for their next games at least.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  17:45
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 186-7 (43 overs)
Borren still living dangerously, advances on Seelaar again looks to go over long on. Doesn’t get enough of it but the fielder’s misjudged it tracking around the rope, tough chance dropped and four. The asking rate tells though, Turmaine looking to sweep Jain but picks out O’Dowd at deep midwicket. Nashier joins his skipper but the task is nigh-impossible from here you’d think.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  17:39
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 174-6 (41 overs)
Borren isn’t going to see Seelaar off, skips down again to loft him straight for four. Seelaar’s only got two left now, but Jain gets the wicket at the other end, half volley outside off tempts Lees but it sliced to Hanif at short third. Turmaine in to join Borren, who’s on 57*.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  17:30
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 137-5 (33 overs)
And a breakthrough at the Zomercomplex too, Nidamanuru holds the catch off Ul Haq and Ravichandran goes for 23. Masood in to join Perumal, but he doesn’t last long, Bhatti cleans him up for 2 in the next over. Srinivasan in.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  17:29
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 162-5 (38.1 overs)
Borren goes to fifty chipping Seelaar up toward vancant mid on for a single, but loses another partner on the first ball of the next over, floated up slow from Jain and Balbirnie looks to guide it toward third, misjudged, missed and and clips the bail off of off stump. Lees in, VRA’s hopes receding.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  17:22
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 155-4 (37 overs)
Balbirnie has settled into the task of middle-over grinding, but Borren looks keen to do something to reclaim the momentum. He’s brought out the reverse sweep at Arnav Jain twice in that last over and picked up a handful, but might have been gone too had de Kok managed to gather the fourth ball cleanly for a stumping. Borren’s onto 47* now, but will need more than a half century to give his side a chance. Seelaar into his seventh over from the other end.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  17:15
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 125-3 (29 overs)
Bhatti returns, the only blemish in his over to Perumal a wide. Irfan ul Haq into the attack now. But Dosti are batting for pride here.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  17:09
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 135-4 (34 overs)
First hint of a chance in a while that, Borren top-edging a sweep off van Baren, doe high but Edwards can’t wuite get a hand to it. The wicket comes though and a crucial breakthrough for VOC just as VRA were clawing their way in front, short from Seelaar and Szwarczynski miscues the pull, van Baren sets himself at midwicket and takes it comfortably. He’s gone for 59, Balbirnie in.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  17:00
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 116-3 (24.4 overs)
Tewarie’s gone for 40, caught by Rehmat Zulfiqar off the bowling of brother Sikander. NB Perumal joins Ravichandran in the middle.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  16:51
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 111-2 (23 overs)
While all that’s been going on, Dosti have ticked along, Tewarie moving on to 36* and Ravichandran to 13*. They’re way off the pace, but they’re not getting rolled either. Mubashar Hussain bowling from the Harbour End, Sikander Zulfiqar from the Horsey one.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  16:50
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 115-3 (29 overs)
After 16 singles Borren finds his first two guiding Van Baren wide of the cordon, and in Seelaar’s next gets six entire runs in one shot, lifted dead straight back over the bowler for a maximum.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  16:46
Sparta : 160 all out (47.2 overs)
HBS : 161-1 (27.1 overs)
HBS cruise home too, a boundary for Walbrugh taking him to 63* and his side to a nine-wicket win. But it’s Julian de Mey, promoted to open, whose 83* makes him the hero of the hour.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  16:43
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 117-3 (32.5 overs)
Etman crunches two boundaries off Mulder, and a single’s enough to give Excelsior a seven-wicket victory.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  16:37
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 92-3 (25 overs)
Well we’re deep into what is malapropistically known here as the “Borren middle overs”. The man himself grinding it out with Szwarczynski, who’s now onto 40*. This pair content just working the gaps for ones and twos. All of Borren’s 12 runs have come in singles thus far. Bobby Hanif and Jelte Schooheim have been labouring away for VOC, but Seelaar brings himself on now for the 26th.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  16:37
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 103-3 (31 overs)
Excelsior having to restart after the departure of Kroesen and Ingram, but Etman and Stubbs are setting out to do exactly that. Engelbrecht bowling from the Pavilion End, Stef Mulder on at the other.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  16:29
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 95-3 (28.5 overs)
That’s a massive blow, as Dutt gets Ingram LBW for 51. Tristan Stubbs joins Tim Etman, and Voorburg see just the teensiest hint of a turnaround.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  16:26
Sparta : 160 all out (47.2 overs)
HBS : 116-1 (23 overs)
De Mey’s brought up his half-century, and with Walbrugh on 47* the game is certainly HBS’s to lose from here. 45 to win, and Navjit Singh and Barresi still to come.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  16:22
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 91-2 (27 overs)
And with that Kroesen goes, looking for a very tight single to mid-off and done by the direct hit from Nieuwoudt. Wasn’t a lot in it, I thought, but Sydney’s not the best place to judge it from . . .

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  16:18
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 90-1 (26 overs)
Ingram moves on to 46*, Kroesen on 27*, as Excelsior close in on the win. Boissevain, the only successful bowler so far, about to bowl his last.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  16:16
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 83-2 (14 overs)
Hans out as well, and Ravichandran in now with Tewarie.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  16:14
ACC : 104 all out (?37.2 overs)
HCC 105-1 (22.4 overs)
All over at De Diepput, Musa and Gorlee seeing HCC home. Can’t tell you their individual scores, unfortunately, HCC having had the technological equivalent of a Bad Hair Day.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  16:07
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 60-3 (16 overs)
Apologies for the brief interruption to our coverage, you correspondent was called away to attempt to fix the live stream. As I resume my seat a promising innings from Cooper comes to an end, twice scooping Bobby Hanif up toward van Wingerden at mid off, who balks at the first but holds the second. Borren in to join Szwarczynski, who’s on 20*.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  15:49
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 76-1 (22 overs)
Ingram goes after Boissevain, 10 coming from the last three balls of that over. He’s on 38* now, Kroesen on 24*, and Voorburg need 42 more.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  15:57
Sparta : 160 all out (47.2 overs)
HBS : 78-1 (17 overs)
De Mey and Walbrugh also making steady progress, now on 34* and 35* respectively. Faisal Iqbal and Ibrahimkhil operating in tandem for Sparta.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  15:49
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 57-1 (17 overs)
Kroesen’s moved on to 20*, Ingram on 23* as Excelsior work their way gradually towards their target.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  15:45
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 48-1 (7 overs)
Ahmed has gone, but Hans is still there on 23*, joined now by Vinoo Tewarie.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  15:43
ACC : 104 all out (?37.2 overs)
HCC 63-1 (14 overs)
HCC well past the halfway mark, with Musa and Gorlee going along nicely.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  15:41
Sparta : 160 all out (47.2 overs)
HBS : 61-1 (13 overs)
De Mey’s moved through the gears now, and he’s hit four boundaries in hi 28*, and he’s overtaken Walbrugh, on 25*. Nasrat Ibrahimkhil on now, in place of Hoornweg.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  15:39
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 36-2 (9 overs)
Cooper watches three balls through to the keeper and then another past him for four byes, picks up his second run with a thick outside edge wide of the slips. Two of the three short covers have disappeared as Jain continues to Cooper, another thick outside edge brings three. Szwarczynski’s niggle seems to be resurfacing though, he’s stretching between every over. He’ll be thankful not to have to run for that, lovely square cut for four through point finds his captain patrolling behind the rope.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  15:33
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
Dosti : 32-0 (4 overs)
Rahil Ahmed and Mahesh Hans have kicked off very positively on their massive chase, against Tariq and Bhatti.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  15:29
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 22-2 (6 overs)
A little too much intent from Singh perhaps, he’s down the track to Jain, misses and that’s the easiest of stumpings for de Kok. Scully in at three, he doesn’t last long though, three balls later and he edges a cut behind and de Kok collects. Cooper in at four and three(!) short covers in for him. He hits the ball the other way for a single.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  15:29
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 35-1 (11 overs)
Philippe Boissevain on, and he pins Verhagen in front for 7. Kroesen’s on 13*, and Lorenzo Ingram’s on 8*

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  15:23
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 21-0 (5 overs)
Lovely square drive from Singh brings a hard run three, and the next ball Fletcher strays too straight and is glanced fine for four by Szwarczynski. Jain’s next and Singh drives straight for four first ball, they’ve too many men out here as Borren argily points out from the sideline, no no ball given though. Positive start from the hosts nonetheless.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  15:21
ACC : 104 all out (?37.2 overs)
HCC 39-1 (8 overs)
That wicket got ACC up and about, but a hook for six by Boris Gorlee has brought about the first bowling change.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  15:15
Sparta : 160 all out (47.2 overs)
HBS : 22-1 (7 overs)
Three boundaries for Walbrugh already, with De Mey a lot more circumspect at the other end.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  15:13
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
VRA : 2-0 (2 overs)
And we’re back here, Singh and Szwarczynski for VRA, Fletcher with the new ball. Singh gets off the mark on the final ball driving to mid off. Jain from the other end, just a couple off his first.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  15:12
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 20-0 (7 overs)
Kroesen and Verhagen don’t need to do anything silly, and they’re starting steadily against Dutt and De Leede.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  15:06
ACC : 104 all out (?37.2 overs)
HCC 27-1 (5.3 overs)
After that one scare, Staal and Musa are making quick progress towards this low target. Anis Raza will have to try something soon, one feels. And as I write that, Van Vliet has Staal caught at midwicket, flicking off the pads. Boris Gorlee in at three.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  15:01
Sparta : 160 all out (47.2 overs)
HBS : 6-1 (3.1 overs)
Manjinder Singh is bowled by Max Hoornweg. Tayo Walbrugh in at three.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  14:58
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Excelsior : 5-0 (3 overs)
Luuk Kroesen (in for Tim Etman) and Roel Verhagen open up Excelsior’s chase, against Aryan Dutt and Bas de Leede. A single for Verhagen, the rest extras.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  14:54
ACC : 104 all out (?37.2 overs)
HCC 7-0 (2 overs)
Back at De Diepput as well, Aryan Kumar and Mees van Vliet operating to Tonny Staal (who survives a very confident caught behind appeal off the latter) and Musa Nadeem.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  14:52
Sparta : 160 all out (47.2 overs)
HBS : 2-0 (1 over)
They’re back at the Bermweg, with Julian de Mey and Manjinder Singh opening against Mudassar Bukhari. A single and a wide off the first. Max Hoornweg to bowl the second.

 🏏 Stats Snippet 🏏  14:40
Punjab’s 375 for seven is not only their highest total in the Topklasse; it’s the highest by anyone since the top flight went to 50 overs. Two higher totals were made off 55 overs in 1993, and the highest of all in the limited overs period is of course Quick Haag’s 428 for none against Bloemendaal off 60 overs in 1990. But 375 is the highest 50-over total.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  14:38
Punjab : 375-7 (50 overs)
And he gets Sikander, caught by Perumal for 45. Mudassar Hussain in, but he’s run out trying to get Usman back on strike. Suleiman Tariq in for the final over, but he’s caught behind by Ravichandran off the penultimate delivery. Sohail Bhatti hits the last for four, and Usman finishes with 77*.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  14:26
Punjab : 356-4 (48 overs)
29 come from Masood’s eighth over, all but two of them to Usman, who zooms past fifty in the process. Then another 18 off Perumal, so Usman’s on 72*, Sikander on 45*. Hoseinbaks gets to bowl the 49th.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  14:25
VOC : 268-4 (50 overs)
Another no ball and six off it to add injury to injury, VRA giving it away at the death. Edwards finishes unbeaten (at least in the opinion of then umpires, if not his hosts) on 132*, van Baren with a very handy 25*. 269 will be the target after the break, at least 20 more than VRA would have liked.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  14:20
VOC : 253-4 (49 overs)
Borren takes over from Lees for the 48th, van Baren and Edwards getting creative now ramping and reversing to keep the score ticking up. Turmaine still at the Mulders End, and loses his grip, full toss no ball and they run three. Edwards can’t get hold of the free hit though, just one off it. Van Baren is repreived on the next when a top edge is shelled at short fine leg and the next ball is absolutely creamed over midwicket and into the water, six more for Edwards and 250 up for the visitors. Rather falling apart at the death from VRA. Borren to bowl the last.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  14:17
Punjab : 309-4 (46 overs)
Four overs left, and Sikander’s on 35*, Usman on 36*.

 🏏 Stats Snippet 🏏  14:08
That’s only the second complete over that Mitch Lees has ever bowled in the Topklasse, in precisely 100 matches. Those 8 runs have hurt his average though. His career stats are currently 2-8 in 2.3 overs.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  14:08
Sparta : 160 all out (47.2 overs)
A century for Tarr as well, but then he’s the last to go, caught by Manjinder Singh off De Mey for 101. Klein had bowled Max Hoornweg to finish with three for 21, and Navjit Singh has three for 19.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  14:05
VOC : 213-4 (46 overs)
Some rather sloppy fielding at point helps Edwards to his century, a bunt and a hard run two taking him to three figures. But Lees has his reward two balls later, Jain looking to cut one off the top of off stump, he misses, Lees hits, gone for 55. Van Baren in.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  13:59
ACC : 104 all out (?37.2 overs)
Bijloos comes back to finish it off. Once that third-wicket stand was broken, it became a procession.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  13:59
VOC : 205-3 (45 overs)
Sure enough Edwards is starting to hit out, Rathore is sent inside-out over cover for six first ball of the 44th, keeps it tight for the rest of the over though. Turmaine continues from the Mulders end, just six off the 45th. Looks like Mitch Lees will be bowling the 46th.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  13:53
Voorburg : 116 all out (40 overs)
Stubbs comes on, and immediately has Dutt caught by Baker for 27. Stef Mulder lasts just three deliveries, and it’s all over. Roelfsema ends with three for 14 from ten overs, and Ingram three for 6 from six.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  13:52
VOC : 191-3 (43 overs)
Edwards skips down to drive Rathore hard through long off for four, the ball takes some finding so drinks taken in the interim. VOC starting to show signs of forcing the pace now, Jain brings up his fifty with a very tight single off Turmaine, direct hit and that must have been very close, but he survives. Edwards on 88 now. Still Rathore at the other end, VRA will do well to contain them…

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  13:48
Punjab : 250-4 (40 overs)
With two new batters in Punjab’s onslaught slowed slightly, but with Sikander and Usman now with a sight of the ball and wickets in hand, we can expect a final flurry. Hans to bowl his last.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  13:47
Sparta : 145-8 (42 overs)
Hoornweg is doing a great job, keeping Tarr on strike. He’s moved on to 88*, and is pretty much Sparta’s only chance of setting HBS a substantial total.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  13:43
Voorburg : 110-8 (40 overs)
Three for Ingram as De Lange is caught and bowled for a 19-ball duck. Dutt is now with Ali Ahmed Qasim, and is on 26*.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  13:40
ACC : 99-8 (34 overs)
Floyd and Musa Nadeem are running through the ACC batting now.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  13:34
Punjab : 232-4 (35.3 overs)
50 and out for Nidamanuru, who sweeps Hans hard through square leg to reach the landmark, but later in the over is caught by Ahmed at long on for 53. Sikander Zulfiqar joins Asad, but almost immediately Asad is caught by Perumal off Naseri for 88. Yasir Usman in at 6.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  13:32
VOC : 165-3 (39 overs)
Another six for Edwards as a cross batted swat off Balbirnie sails high into the greenery over long on. Borren back at the other end now, starts his second spell with a maiden to Jain. VRA could really use a wicket or two here though. Rathore replaces Balbirnie.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  13:28
Voorburg : 99-7 (36 overs)
Drinks at Westvliet too, where the home side are in a spot of bother. Lorenzo Ingram’s removed Boissevain and Viv Kingma in quick succession. Dutt’s still there on 14*, joined now by Floris de Lange.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  13:24
Punjab : 226-2 (34 overs)
Drinks at the Zomercomplex, with Asad on 87* and Nidamanuru on 48*. For the record, Punjab’s highest total in the Topklasse is 329 for five, against HBS in 2017.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  12:22
VOC : 150-3 (35 overs)
Balbirnie into the attack now taking over from Singh, Jain takes him to the rope third ball sweeping hard down wide of fine leg. Building a good partnership now these two, both looking positive. Direct hit brings the inevitable run-out appeal but little else threatens to derail them. More overthrows bring up the 150 for VOC.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  13:18
Sparta : 111-8 (33 overs)
Stephan Vink gets into the act, Ibrahimkhil caught by Boddendijk for 3. But Tarr’s on 59*, and Max Hoornweg’s keeping him company.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  13:16
ACC : 86-4 (27.1 overs)
Thanks to the HCC commentators we can tell you that it’s Ammar Zaidi and Ramesh Babu who are giving ACC some hope at De Diepput. But the partnership’s broken now, Clayton Floyd getting the breakthrough.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  13:10
Voorburg : 87-5 (32 overs)
Karl Nieuwoudt has been and gone, also caught behind off Roelfsema for 6. Philippe Boissevain in with Dutt now.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  13:06
Punjab : 192-2 (29 overs)
Asad on 81* now, Nidamanuru 24*.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  13:00
ACC : 63-3 (22 overs)
The rebuilding is going pretty well, but who the rebuilders are remains a state secret.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  12:58
VOC : 100-3 (28 overs)
Four strikes perhaps, Singh hits the pad again, very similar to the last three shouts to be honest, maybe even higher, except that it’s Seelaar’s pad this time and he doesn’t have Edwards’ luck. Finger up, Jain in at five. Edwards still there on 47*. Jain off the mark with a loose uppish drive square of the wicket for four to bring up VOC’s hundred.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  12:57
Sparta : 87-7 (27.2 overs)
Sparta in full-on collapse again now, as Navjit bowls Mamoon Latif and has Balwantsingh caught behind by Scholte. Tarr’s still on 41*, but he’s in danger of running out of partners.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  12:51
Voorburg : 76-4 (26 overs)
Another for Roelfsema as Engelbrecht is caught behind by Verhagen for 23.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  12:48
VOC : 93-2 (27 overs)
Another shout for LBW on Edwards off Singh, but it seems the three strikes rule is not in effect today. Maybe a shade high. Rathore takes over from Turmaine.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  12:44
Punjab : 153-2 (24.1 overs)
Nidamanuru’s started pretty aggressively, racing to 17*, and Asad reaches 50* at the other end. Punjab look set for a very big total here!

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  12:40
VOC : 86-2 (24 overs)
Huge shout for LBW on Edwards as he looks to work Singh away to leg and is struck on the pads, he’s a ways down the track but looked a decent shout from here. VRA certainly convinced, the umpire less so. Turmaine still from the othber end, Seelaar steps down to him and is off the mark in style with a lofted straight drive for six. Edwards survives again on the first ball of Singh’s next as an ouside edge is put down low at first slip. He’s on 41* now, could prove costly.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  12:41
Sparta : 84-5 (24.1 overs)
Deol’s been caught by Klein off Navjit Singh for 11. And then Manminder Singh falls first ball, LBW to Klein himself. Tarr’s moved on to 41*.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  12:32
Voorburg : 65-3 (21.2 overs)
Hingorani is out LBW to Roelfsema for a somewhat laborious 28, and Aryan Dutt comes in to join Engelbrecht.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  12:32
Punjab : 127-2 (21 overs)
Rehmat’s been caught behind by Rahil Ahmed off Perumal for 62. Asad’s on 42*, and is joined by Teja Nidamanuru.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  12:30
VOC : 77-2 (21 overs)
And another for Turmaine, while Edwards had been scoring with some freedom at one end de Kok had been kept comparatively quiet, looks to break the shackles coming down the track to Turmaine driving straight, too straight though and in the air straight into the hands of the bowler. Seelaar at four. That’ll be drinks and Lees takes the opportunity to ditch the gloves, Scully takes over behind the sticks.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  12:24
ACC : 26-3 (10 overs)
Three wickets for HCC, and ACC have some rebuilding to do.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  12:07
VOC : 56-1 (15 overs)
Turmaine replaces Abid at the Mulder’s end, O’Dowd brings up the fifty partnership with a push down the ground for one, Edwards sweeps the next over backward point for a couple. Fristration beginning to show in the field as a needless overthrow allows a couple, but Turmaine is threatening, finds the inside edge with his next ball and then as I type he’s got the breakthrough! A tad wide outside off and grips, O’Dowd looking to slash it away through the off side but the ball takes the inside edge and clatters into the stumps. O’Dowd gone for 27, de Kok at three.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  12:07
Punjab : 104-1 (17 overs)
Perumal on from the Harbour End, but the punishment continues unabated. Rehmat now on 41*, Asad on 39*.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  12:04
Voorburg : 44-2 (15 overs)
Rens van Troost on from the Pavilion End, and with his first delivery he has De Leede very well caught by Tristan Stubbs at shortish midwicket. Sybrandt Engelbrecht in to join Hingorani, who’s on 22*

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  12:00
Sparta : 57-3 (15 overs)
Bukhari goes at the Bermweg, caught and bowled by Benno Boddendijk for 19. Tarr’s still there on 26*, and is joined now by debutant Randeep Deol.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  11:54
VOC : 40-0 (12 overs)
Bar that dropped chance neither bat has looked in any trouble so far, a slow outfield and some energetic if occasionally sloppy fielding has kept the scoring in check though. 34 runs off the powerplay. First bowling change now as Vikram Singh replaces Borren.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  11:52
Voorburg : 38-1 (13 overs)
Hingorani and De Leede making good progress for Voorburg, with Klaas Roelfsema now on for Heggelman from the Paddock End.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  11:47
Punjab : 69-1 (12 overs)
Naseri into the attack from the Equestrian Centre End, but his advent produces a string of boundaries as Rehmat and Asad begin to up the tempo.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  11:44
ACC : 5-1 (3 overs)
A breakthrough for Reinier Bijloos, who has an unnamed ACC batsman caught behind. But there’s an unusual lack of information from De Diepput.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  11:35
VOC : 23-0 (6 overs)
Big shout for LBW on Edwards in Abid’s next. Hard to judge the line from here but may just have been swiniging down leg. Does seem to be a bit of lateral movement to be had. Borren’s been disciplined at the other end but offers O’Dowd a little width on the first ball of the sixth, thick top edge on the cup flies high and wide of the slips for four. Should have had his man on the last though as O’Dowd pops up a regulation chance to cover but Turmaine doesn’t seem to pick it up at all, doesn’t even get a hand on it. Borren not happy.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  11:30
ACC : 0-0 (overs)
Anis Raza has called correctly at De Diepput, and made the consensus in favour of batting complete.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  11:32
Punjab : 43-1 (8 overs)
The Zulfiqars, Rehmat and Asad, making steady progress against Masood and Arief Hoseinbaks, Masood’s last over producing a boundary for each of them. Dosti already in serious need of another wicket.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  11:29
Sparta : 20-2 (6 overs)
Iqbal’s gone as well, caught by Ferdi Vink off Ryan Klein. Tarr and Mudassar Bukhari once again have the job of re-establishing the Sparta innings.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  11:26
Voorburg : 17-1 (5.5 overs)
And Heggelman’s bowled De Grooth for 11, bringing Bas de Leede to the crease.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  11:24
Voorburg : 16-0 (5 overs)
Voorburg had trouble pacing their innings when these sides met back at the beginning of May, and they’ve started pretty sedately here as well. But when Etman drops short De Grooth pulls him in front of square for four, and then drives through mid-off for a couple when he overpitches.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  11:20
VOC : 10-0 (2 overs)
O’Dowd and Edwards opening for VOC, no huge selection surprises except that Luke Hartsink is absent, making room for Pragam Rathore, and Eric Szwarczynski is fit after all, or at least fit enough. VOC unchanged from last week. Abid takes the new ball and a wayward start, wide first up and then sat up outside off and cut away for four next ball. Borren from the other end, tidy from him but O’ Dowd finds room to cut the fourth ball behind point and they run three. Outfield still looking rather on the slow side.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  11:15
Sparta : 8-1 (2 overs)
An early wicket at the Bermweg too, where Ali Raza’s miserable run continues. Ferdi Vink traps him in front for 5, Garnett Tarr joining Faisal Iqbal at the crease. But the BIG news out of Capelle is that Wesley Barresi is back! He comes into the HBS side in place of Tobias Visée, who is absent this week for personal reasons.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  11:10
Punjab : 19-1 (2 overs)
Rather a contrast in Rotterdam, where Stephan Myburgh started in top gear. He plundered 19 in nine deliveries, with three fours and a six, and then was bowled bv Waheed Masood. Asad Zulfiqar plays out the rest of the over. Rehmat Zulfiqar at the other end has so far been a spectator.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  11:07
Voorburg : 1-0 (1 over)
Niels Etman opens up to Mohit Hingorani, who’s partnered by Tom de Grooth. Single off the fourth delivery, and De Grooth sees out the rest. Tom Heggelman from the other end.

Sparta 1888 vs HBS Craeyenhout  10:57
Sparta : 0-0 ( overs)
Not sure yet who won the toss, but Sparta are going to bat at the Bermweg.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  10:52
The captains are back from their stroll, VOC have won the toss and will bat first.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  10:45
Punjab : 0-0 (overs)
Suleiman Tariq wins the toss at the Zomercomplex, and he too decides to bat first. Start still scheduled for 11:00.

 Voorburg vs Excelsior ‘20  10:40
Voorburg : 0-0 ( overs)
At Westvliet Bas de Leede has won the toss and elected to have a bat.

 Punjab Rotterdam vs Dosti  10:39
A delay too at the Zomercomplex, where an inspection is currently taking place.

 VRA Amsterdam vs VOC  10:31
Still some work to be done here, awful lot of rain came down last night. It’s dry for now though and we’re hoping for a delay of no more than 15 minutes or so.

 HCC vs ACC Amsterdam  10:31
The first news is disappointing: De Diepput’s living up to its name again, and a wet outfield has delayed the toss by half an hour. They’re hoping to get a start at 11:30.

 Rod Lyall  10:25
The toss should be taking place around the grounds in five minutes or so, so stay tuned for news of what the winners decide. The indications are that the weather will hold today, although there seems to be some scary stuff blowing through tonight.

 Rod Lyall  10:15
Good morning (/afternoon/evening) everyone, and welcome once again to TKcricket’s live (and, we hope, lively) coverage of the day’s Topklasse cricket. We’re at the competition’s halfway point, and there’s plenty to play for for almost all the sides with nine rounds to go. Bertus will again be keeping a sharp eye on VRA’s encounter with VOC in the Amsterdamse Bos, and I shall be keeping a no doubt increasingly bleary one on events elsewhere. Sander will be out and about with his trusty camera, so we have all the bases covered as usual – with the help, of course, of the scorers and commentators without whom we couldn’t do what we do. We do appreciate all your efforts, even when we’re wrestling with technical difficulties!
