The Topklasse League Phase Table after Round 11
Bertus de Jong 16:42
A fairly comfortable win for ACC in the end, with just 121 on the board Dosti could not afford to let any of the visiting bat get in, certainly not in the manner that Knoll did. His 62-ball 60 sealed the win set up in the first innings by young Zinesh Master who’s five wicket haul certainly made for a memorable debut.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 16:37
Dosti : 121 all out (32.5 overs)
ACC : 122-5 (37.1 overs)
Knoll hits Masood for back to back boundaries to take ACC to the brink, but can’t quite take them over the line. Masood staikes with the last ball of the 37th with two runs still needed. Alves comes out to join Kumar, but a jog back and forth between the wickets is his sole contribution as Kumar finds the winning double off Perumal to seal the four points for ACC.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 16:01
Dosti : 121 all out (32.5 overs)
ACC : 87-4 (32 overs)

Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 15:57
Dosti : 121 all out (32.5 overs)
ACC : 87-3 (31 overs)
This is begninning to look like the partneship that will put the game to bed. Hosur and Knoll have doubled the score now and are closing in on a 50-run stand for the fourth wicket. Tewarie cycling through his bowlers to no avail.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 15:37
Dosti : 121 all out (32.5 overs)
ACC : 65-3 (25 overs)
Hosur and Knoll continue to edge up the score, Tewarie brings himself on in search of a breakthrough. Tidy enough from him just two off it, but Knoll puts Hans back over the rope on the first ball of the 25th and then takes four more off the 5th to take ACC past the half-way point. Dosti need to make something happen here.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 15:07
Dosti : 121 all out (32.5 overs)
ACC : 43-3 (17 overs)
Hosur and Raza looked to have calmed things down a bit after that double blow, Sayed replaces Hoseinbaks and Raza finds the rope on the last ball of the 16th. ACC really only need one half-decent partnership here, but this won’t be it. Hans castles Raza on the last ball of the 17th, Dosti still in this if they can keep finding wickets.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 14:52
Dosti : 121 all out (32.5 overs)
ACC : 24-2 (12 overs)
And a wicket for Hoseinbaks in the 12th as Kothari ‘s stumps are splayed. Big wicket that, two new bats atin the middle now as Hosur is joined by Raza. Do Dosti have an opening here?

A steady start for ACC as they set off in pursuit of the modest total takes them to 20 without loss inafter the powerplay, but Mahesh Hans finds the breakthrough in his second over, bowling Zaidi for 4. Kotharii, on 15*, is joined by Hosur.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 13:29
Dosti : 121 all out (32.5 overs)
Sayed last man in and showing plenty of enterprise, puts Master away over midwicket for four. Almost gone in Raza’s next though, Spoons Raza up toward long on for what should be a simple catch but the fielder misjudges it and it drops over his head. The innings finally comes to an end in entertaining style in Master’s next, Naseri on the slog sweep and van Vliet tracks round the rope, trie to set himself, slips, falls, scrambles half back to his feet and then falls over backwards again, somehow clutching the ball in the process. Dosti all out for 121, Master finishes with figures of 5-30 in 8.5. Where’s this kid been all season?
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 13:19
Dosti : 111-9 (30 overs)
Masood perhaps senses the end is near, swinging for the fences now. Slog sweeps Master over square leg for six runs, doesn’t quite carry to your correspondent, who fields it in the hospitality tent. He looks keen to give us a crowd catch though and goes again next ball, doesn’t quite connect and it’s edged wide of the keeper for one. But his adventurous innings is brought to an end in the next over, falling on Nelson as he holes out off Raza for a 17-ball 22.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 13:09
Dosti : 97-8 (27 overs)
Masood looks to counterattack, dumping Raza way back over his head into the top of the sightscreen, but Ravichandran’s rather scratchy innings is brought to an end next over. That’s four for Master now as he turns one between bat and pad and takes the inside edge. Naseri in.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 13:03
Dosti : 87-7 (25 overs)
Ahmed comes down the track to Raza looking to bring up his fifty with a big heave over long on, doesn’t get a hold of it though and that’s high in the air, Hosur sets himself at midwicket a holds it well. Master continues at the other end and he bags his second in the next over, Hoseinbaks pinned LBW second ball to be replaced by his brother, who is bowled three balls later. Two Hoseinbaks’ in four balls for Master and the collapse well and truly on now, might have had another wicket with the next delivery as Masood inside edges across his stumps first ball.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 12:45
Dosti : 71-4 (19 overs)
Perumal keeps Ahmed company for a while, becoming the second Dosti batsman to reach double figures, but is bowled by young Zinesh Master on the final ball of the 19th. Ahmed’s into the forties now, Ravichandran joins him in the middle. Raza brings himself on for the twentieth.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 11:55
Dosti : 49-3 (13 overs)
Tewarie goes, caught off Zaidi for a 24-ball one. Raji lasts just three balls before falling to van Vliet. Perumal joins Ahmed, who’s on 29*.
Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 11:55

Dosti-Untied vs ACC Amsterdam 10:44
ACC have won the toss at Drieburg and invited Dosti to bat first.
Rod Lyall 19:45
A distinctly strange day’s cricket, that, with one match over before another had even started, two more curtailed by the weather but producing a decisive victory and a No result, and then leaders Punjab completing an important win at 19:37. Their defeat of HBS and VOC’s loss at the hands of Voorburg extend their lead to five points, while HCC leapfrog VRA and move into sixth place. But really, 68 all out vs. 69-8? It does leave you scratching your head. We’ll be back tomorrow to bring you the action from Dosti’s match with ACC, but in the meantime this is Rod Lyall in locked-down Sydney saying goodbye, and take care.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 19:37
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 125-5 (22.3/24 overs)
Six for Saqib over midwicket off Navjit reduces the deficit to two, and a single means the scores are effectively level with two overs left. Ferdi Vink comes on for the first time, with two dots before he lofts him to the midwicket boundary and Punjab win by five wickets.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 19:28
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 113-5 (21/24 overs)
De Mey replaces Klein; a wide, two singles, and a disastrous run out which sees both batters at the same end and Usman on his way. Saqib Zulfiqar joins Sikander, and nine are needed off 18.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 19:28
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 109-4 (20/24 overs)
Sikander smashes Navjit into the Bosjes van Pex undergrowth, making the main danger to Punjab nightfall before the ball is retrieved. The possibility of a replacement doesn’t seem to occur. But it’s back eventually, and he pulls the next behind square for a couple. A wide makes ten, and 13 are needed off 24.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 19:22
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 99-4 (19/24 overs)
Klein back from the Scoreboard End, and Usman dabs him down through the gully for four. Then a Sikander Zulfiqar pull yields four more. A much-needed 11 in all from the over, leaving 23 required from 30 deliveries.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 19:13
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 85-4 (17.3/24 overs)
Navjit Singh replaces De Mey, his first over costing just two singles. But eight come from Vink’s next, and the game swings back Punjab’s way. Until Nidamanuru tries to reverse against Navjit, and Visée grabs a stunning diving catch – or was it LBW? At any event, the game remains in the balance as Yasir Usman comes in.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 19:00
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 73-2 (14.5/24 overs)
Three pretty tidy overs produce just eight runs and the wicket of Asad, caught and bowled by Stephan Vink for 26. They take a drink as Sikander Zulfiqar joins Nidamanuru, who’s on 16*. HBS aren’t out of this yet!
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 18:51
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 65-2 (12/24 overs)
Meanwhile, Punjab are more than halfway to their target with half the overs gone. Asad Zulfiqar on 20*, Nidamanuru on 14*.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 18:48
Sparta : 187 all out (48.2 overs)
Excelsior : 39-3 (11.2 overs)
Hostilities have ceased at Thurlede as well, but in this case it’s a no result, since Excelsior were unable to face the minimum 20 overs. One point apiece. Again.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 18:44
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
Voorburg : 120-1 (29.1 overs)
There’s been no official announcement, but Voorburg have won at the Hazelaarweg after rain stopped play. We make the winning margin 63 runs, with the par core at 29.1 overs with one wicket down 57.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 18:41
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 47-2 (9.1/24 overs)
Rehmat and Asad making steady progress, with 75 now needed for 13 overs. De Mey’s on from the Sportlaan End. And as I write this Rehmat goes for 24, holing out to Stephan Vink at long off. Nidamanuru in.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 18:29
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 31-1 (6/24 overs)
Barresi confines the scoring to four singles, and then Klein gives away just a one and a two. HBS fighting hard here.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 18:19
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 24-1 (3.2/24 overs)
A relatively quiet over from Barresi, and then Klein gets his revenge, Myburgh well caught down the leg side by Visée. Asad Zulfiqar joins Rehmat.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 18:13
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 20-0 (2/24 overs)
Who proceeds to put him back over his head and into the Bosjes van Pex. Guides the next one down through the gully for four. Two balls later he thrashes it through cover point. Two off the last makes 16.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 18:06
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Punjab : 4-0 (1/24 overs)
They’re back, and Barresi’s opening over produces a boundary for Myburgh. We’re told that Punjab need 122 to win after a DLS adjustment. Ryan Klein from the Sportlaan End to Rehmat Zulfiqar.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 17:47
HBS : 120-7 (24/24 overs)
Klein follows, caught and bowled two balls later. A somewhat diminuendo finish follows, just singles and dots for the most part, and then Ahmed is caught by Usman off Saqib’s final delivery to give him figures of four for 25. Punjab will be pretty happy with that.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 17:37
HBS : 113-5 (21.3/24 overs)
Or not. Barresi tries to carve Saqib over cover, and is caught by Rehmat Zulfiqar for 26. Adil Ahmed in now.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 17:35
HBS : 112-4 (21/24 overs)
Barresi and Klein pushing on, especially Barresi, who’s on 26* from just 17 deliveries. Could be a lively last three overs!
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 17:24
HBS : 95-4 (19.2/24 overs)
Barresi settles himself with a couple of fours, a pull wide of mid-on off Saqib and a lovely cover drive off Bhatti. But after Walbrugh smacks Saqib over midwicket for six he holes out next ball at long on trying to do it again, Yasir Usman taking the catch. He goes for 39. Ryan Klein joins Barresi, who’s on 12*.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 17:18
HBS : 73-3 (16.4/24 overs)
Bhatti’s removed Navjit, bowling him for 16. Enter Wesley Barresi for the first time this season, with Walbrugh on 29*.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 17:10
HBS : 69-2 (15/24 overs)
Bhatti replaces Hussain, but Walbrugh’s moved on to 27*, with Navjit on 14*. Nine overs left. Saqib Zulfiqar on.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 16:57
HBS : 52-2 (12/24 overs)
Mubashar Hussain and Irfan ul Haq take over the attack, and HBS are at the halfway point with Walbrugh clearly looking to unleash. A lot of work to do, though!
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 16:47
Sparta : 187 all out (48.2 overs)
Excelsior : 39-3 (11.2 overs)
It’s Thurlede’s turn to get the rain, with the match poised at a crucial moment.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 16:45
HBS : 33-2 (9.3/24 overs)
De Mey’s gone for 15 – rather a soft dismissal, really, as he pushes at Nidamanuru and Irfan ul Haq takes the catch at cover. Navjit Singh joins Walbrugh.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 16:37
HBS : 28-1 (8/24 overs)
No real fireworks as yet, but De Mey and Walbrugh steadily accumulating the singles against Tariq and Nidamanuru.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 16:27
Sparta : 187 all out (48.2 overs)
Excelsior : 30-3 (7.3 overs)
Another for Hoornweg, as Etman is brilliantly caught by Tarr at short cover for 11. Joost Kroesen joins Stubbs.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 16:27
HBS : 13-1 (5/2? overs)
They’re back at Craeyenhout, with Walbrugh getting off the mark with a single. There will be a further reduction in overs, but we’re not sure how many.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 16:17
Sparta : 187 all out (48.2 overs)
Excelsior : 22-2 (5.2 overs)
Ingram’s gone, top-edging Hoornweg to leg and caught by keeper Raza. Stubbs in at four, and Excelsior faltering.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 16:16
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 120-1 (29.1 overs)
And the rain has arrived at Rotterdam. Don’t imagine they’ll be off for long but it is coming down. 17 still to get, de Leede on 57*, Hingorani on 39*.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 16:09
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 110-1 (27 overs)
De Leede drives O’Dowd out to mid on where a misfield gifts him four anf fifty. He’s looked back to his best today, but Hingorani’s just been quietly accumulating at the other end too and made his way to 35*, has done a job in this game as he has all season for VCC.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 16:06
Sparta : 187 all out (48.2 overs)
Excelsior : 19-1 (4.1 overs)
Bukhari gets the breakthrough, trapping Verhagen in front for 5. Ingram in to join Tim Etman.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 16:02
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 100-1 (25 overs)
Hundred up for VCC, Schoonheim back, hard to see it making much difference through. De Leede well set and closing in on a half-century, Hingorani into the thirties.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 15:57
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 95-1 (23 overs)
Not seen a boundary in ten overs but VCC don’t need them. O’Dowd and Upadhyaya have been tidy but are just delaying the inevitable as it stands.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 15.53
Sparta : 187 all out (48.2 overs)
Excelsior : 2-0 (1 over)
They’re back on at Thurlede, Bukhari bowling from the Scoreboard End. A leg-bye and a single for Verhagen off the first. Max Hoornweg from the other end.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 15:49
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 88-1 (21 overs)
Upadhyaya into the attack now to replace Schoonheim, but Hingorani and de Leede continue to milk the singles. O’Dowd replacing van Baren, three off his first but VOC need wickets and fast.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 15:45
HBS : 12-1 (4.1/28 overs)
Would you believe it? It’s started raining at Craeyenhout! Players off, covers on.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 15:39
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 73-1 (18 overs)
Seven off Schoonheim’s last over before drinks, all run without risk. VCC looking well in control of this chase.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 15:39
HBS : 11-1 (3/28 overs)
Visée gets his shots going, cutting Tariq to the point boundary and then scooping him behind square for four more. When he tries to hit him back over his head, though, he miscues, and Sohail Bhatti, diving forward at mid-off takes a good catch. Enter Tayo Walbrugh.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 15:33
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 66-1 (17 overs)
Altogether too loose from VOC now, four wides in the last two overs from van Baren and Schoonheim and the hosts don’t have runs to play with. Hingorani’s been patient but pounces on a short ball from van Baren to pull behind square for three, VCC closing on the half-way point already.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 15:32
HBS : 1-0 (1/28 overs)
They’ve started at Craeyenhout!!! Suleiman Tariq takes the new ball as usual, bowling to Julian de Mey. A prod through the gully gets De Mey off the mark, then Visée impeccably forward to the final ball. Teja Nidamanuru from the Scoreboard End.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 15:18
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 48-1 (14 overs)
De Leede still putting bad balls away, wide half volley from Jain driven through cover for four more. Schoonheim into the attack now, Hingorani and de Leede looking confortable enough though, closing in on 50. Dirk van Baren replaces Fletcher.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 15.18
Sparta : 187 all out (48.2 overs)
Kumar’s run out without scoring and Excelsior will need 188 to win. Two wickets apiece for Heggelman, Ingram and Stubbs.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 15.11
Sparta : 187-9 (48.1 overs)
Heggelman back for the 49th, and he removes Latif for 45 with his first delivery. Pradeep Kumar is the last man.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 15:13
HBS : 0-0 ( overs)
Make that 28 overs.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 15.11
Sparta : 184-8 (47.3 overs)
Stubbs gets Balwantsingh for 2. Latif, who planted him over midwicket for six at the start of the over, has moved to 44*, and is joined now by Max Hoornweg.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 15:05
The teams are both out warming up, but so’s the blower, and the umpires are in deep conference with the captains. And we gather that they’re starting a 30-over game at 15:30. HBS have won the toss and will bat.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 15:00
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 30-1 (9 overs)
De Leede drives Jain through cover for four, straight drive off Fletcher in the next brings a similar result. No huge urgency though, happy to leave good balls alone. Going at threes for now and that’s plenty.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 14:56
Sparta : 167-7 (45 overs)
Ibrahimkhil doesn’t last long: two and out, caught by Van Troost in the same Ingram over. Balwantsingh in at nine, with five overs left.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 14:51
Sparta : 161-6 (44.1 overs)
They’ve blindfolded the carrier pigeons again, but Latif’s on 29* and Umar’s on 6*. Except now he’s bowled by Ingram. Nasrat Ibrahimkhil joins Latif.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 14:46
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 17-1 (5 overs)
De Grooth still scoring freely off Jain, but less so against Fletcher. Decent shout for LBW as he’s struck by a fuller ball shaping in, maybe going down? No doubt about it two balls later, crashing into leg stump with no pad in the way. Bowled. De Leede in, off the mark flicking off his pads for a couple.
HBS Craeyenhout vs Punjab 14:46
There are signs of preparation at Craeyenhout, but still no news of the toss. It looks, though, as if Punjab may be fielding.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 14:37
Sparta : 140-5 (39.2 overs)
That’s a massive breakthrough! Tarr down the pitch to Stubbs, beaten, and Verhagen does the rest. Smart stumping, and Tarr goes for 71. Danish Umar joins Latif.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 10:32
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
VCC : 4-0 (2 overs)
And they’re back on at Hazelaarweg. Pierce Fletcher opening the bowling for the hosts, starts with a maiden to Hingorani. He’s opening with Tom de Grooth, Jain sharing the new ball. De Grooth brings out the reverse sweep to Jain and picks up four for it.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 14:29
Sparta : 138-4 (38 overs)
They’ve taken another drink at Thurlede, and Stubbs is on from the City End immediately afterwards. Just a couple of singles off it, and Ingram’s back from the other end.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 14:16
Sparta : 130-4 (36 overs)
Tarr holding Sparta together again – he’s moved to 68* with Latif on 8*, as Roelfsema bowls the last of his quota.
Bertus de Jong 14:10
Well that was a profoundly silly game of cricket.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 14:08
VRA : 68 all out (19.2 overs)
HCC : 69-8 (15.5 overs)
Big swing from Venter and a huge shout for caught behind, no joy. Venter undeterred, big swing at the next too, misses. Half connects with the last though, just clears the leaping Singh in his follow through, and they run two to seal a farcically close win.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 14:05
VRA : 68 all out (19.2 overs)
HCC : 67-8 (15.3 overs)
Make that three wickets as Gorlee edges to the keeper on the first ball of Singh’s next. At what point do HCC start to get nervous? I guess now as Klaus is pinned LBW second ball. Venter in. Two runs or two wickets.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 14:02
VRA : 68 all out (19.2 overs)
HCC : 67-6 (15 overs)
Borren continues, tries the bumper and and is hooked for a single. Four slips in, none needed though as Patel nicks through to Lees. Floyd in. Borren puts one past his edge. The next is left, the next blocked, then left again. Two needed or, less plausibly, four wickets.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 14:01
Sparta : 107-4 (32 overs)
Suddenly we have the carrier pigeons flocking in from Thurlede, and we can tell you that Tarr has reached another half-century. He’s on 51*, with Latif on 2*, with Roelfsema and Baker still operating in tandem.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 13:58
VRA : 68 all out (19.2 overs)
HCC : 66-5 (14 overs)
Overdijk looking to finish things off, down the track and a swing and miss at Singh, loses his poles trying the same thing next ball. For those keeping count, VRA would have just won had they held all the catches on offer. As it is, they have very much not won. Patel in. Three needed.
Excelsior ‘20 vs Sparta 1888 13:51
Sparta : 98-4 (28.3 overs)
Tarr and Singh were going along quite nicely, but then Singh falls to Baker, caught by Heggelman for 11. Tarr on 47*, joined by Mamoon Latif.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 13:48
VRA : 68 all out (19.2 overs)
HCC : 62-4 (12 overs)
And another goes down in the slips. Singh the bowler to miss out this time, Overdijk the lucky batsman. HCC edge closer, Borren brings himself on.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 13:48
VOC : 136 all out (40.3 overs)
Fletcher’s gone, well caught by keeper Hingorani diving to his right. Takes a while for it to ink in that he’s been given, the fatal finger pointing heavenwards. Bart Ruyters lasts one ball, and it’s all over. Four for 24 for De Leede, more than doubling his haul for the season.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 13:45
VRA : 68 all out (19.2 overs)
HCC : 60-4 (11 overs)
Had VRA held all their (half) chances, HCC would be eight down right now and this game would still be a going concern. As it stands HCC have six wickets in hand and nine runs to get.

Lovely straight drive from Gorlee off Abid brings four runs, Gunning still believes though, he combines with Singh at second slip again, Staal half forward and feeling for it, edged and gone. And Abid almost has Gorlee on the next ball, blocked back low but in the air, Abid can’t quite hold on in his follow through. He takes advantage of his luck though, whipping the final ball of the 8th through midwicket for four. Vecchi with him now, Gunning to continue.

VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 13:03
VRA : 68 all out (19.2 overs)
HCC : 12-0 (2 overs)
We’re back, Musa Ahmad and Daniel Trijzelaar opening for HCC, Gunning reclaims the new ball. Ahmad off the mark pulling round the corner for one, Gunning beats Trijzelaar’s outside edge with the next. Three slips and a Gully in, which is understandable in the circumstances. Second almost of use on the final ball as a thick edge just clears him. Abid from the other end, just the two slips for him. Half chance as a lofted drive from Trijzelaar flies wide of mid on, who’s a bit slow to pick it up and they run three, next is short and pulled away for four by Ahmad. Good start for HCC.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 12:57
VOC : 105-6 (27.3 overs)
Aryan Dutt, bowling his medium-pace stuff, and Boissevain, back from the Pavilion End, into the attack now. And it’s Dutt who gets Schoonheim, swinging across the line and bowled for a run-a-ball 55. Rohan Malik joins Upadhyaya, who’s on 9*.

The last scoring shot of the innings in fact as Klaus puts the second ball of the 20th over into the base of Abid’s stumps. Back in ten minutes. Should be done by Lunch this. Maybe a cheeky friendly T20 this afternoon?
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 12:41

Fifty for Schoonheim, an extraordinary innings in the circumstances. 42 of them are from boundaries: six fours and three sixes. What he needs, though, is people to sty with him.

Double bowling change as Floyd returns to replace Bijloos, Gunning gets after him sweeping high and handsome over backward square for four. Oliver Klaus at the other end, might have had a wicket in his first as Turmaine top-edges a cut but it’s spilled high at first slip. Never mind, he does have a wicket, Gunning bowled next ball. Abid in at ten.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 12:33
VOC : 90-5 (22 overs)
Nieuwoudt completes a terrific spell, taking one for 27 from his ten overs, and is replaced by De Leede from the Airport End. Schoonheim goes after him as well, hitting a four and a six, and he’s now on 49*, off just 38 deliveries.

The strategy of hitting Boissevain out of the attack works a treat, as he’s replaced by Stef Mulder after going for 28 from five overs, one of them a maiden. But Mulder opens with a six and a four, and as they take a drink Schoonheim has raced to 36* off 30. Jain’s on 14* at the other end.

The procession continues, Borren throwing hands at a wide one from Overdijk and provides a simple catch for Musa Ahmad at short cover. Three for Overdijk, Lees in. Make that four for Overdijk as Szwarczynski edges behind two balls later. Nashier in. Overdijk seems to be enjoying this over so much he doesn’t want it to end, four wides in it, but he’s left VRA in disarray as the lower order hurries off to find their pads.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 12:01
VOC : 38-4 (16 overs)
Jain and Schoonheim seem to have embarked on a counter-attack, with Nieuwoudt conceding a rare boundary to Jain, and Schoonheim smacking Boissevain for a four and an effortless straight six. Nieuwoudt comes back with a maiden to Schoonheim, though.
🏏 Stats Snippet 🏏 11:53
The dismissal of Vikram Singh is Reinier Bijloos’ 150th wicket for HCC 1.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 11:53
VRA : 36-3 (11 overs)
Szwarczynski cuts Bijloos away just in front of point, who mistimes his dive and lets it through, Overdijk gives chase from cover and does well to keep it in, but has to circumnavigate the golf buggy parked on the boundary before collecting the ball, and in the meantime we’ve an all-run four. Next ball a more conventional four as a beautifully timed straight drive races away to the rope. Three slips still in for Bijloos in the 11th, but none of them called into action, rather it is Venter at midwicket who takes a fine catch diving forward as Singh miscues a pull. Borren in, VRA on the ropes.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 11:49
VOC : 21-4 (12.3 overs)
Durrani goes without scoring, caught on the crease by Boissevain, and given LBW. His departure was glacial, but even glacial movement is inevitable. Jelte Schoonheim in now, and Voorburg are bossing it so far.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 11:45

Overdijk has another, Balbirnie drawn into a waft outside off and takes the edge, simple take for Patel to his right. Singh in at four.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 11:39
VOC : 19-2 (10 overs)
Voorburg are definitely up for this, especially after those two wickets for De Leede, and Nieuwoudt is bowling superbly from the Airport End. The captain’s radar lets him down a bit in his fourth over, and Philippe Boissevain is on early. Van Baren off the mark at last with a four through the gully, but Nieuwoudt, now down to military medium, continues impressively, although he concedes a boundary to Van Baren.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 11:32
VRA : 23-1 (7 overs)
Just the one over for Floyd before Bijloos takes over, Balbirnie and Szwarczynski digging in. Chance of a run-out in the 7th though as Balbirnie flicks to leg and Szwarczynski is slow setting off, should have been well but looks like Patel’s dislodged a bail before the throw reached him. Overdijk and Bijloos have been by turns threatening and wayward, five wides already thus far
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 11:25
VOC : 7-2 (6.1 overs)
De Leede and Nieuwoudt have been keeping things pretty tight at the Hazelaarweg, bowling a fourth-stump line and beating the bat fairly regularly. But then De Leede drops one short, Edwards pulls, and Nieuwoudt takes the catch at deep square leg. Arnav Jain joins Van Baren.

We gather the umpires will be having a look at 11:30 at Thurlede.
VOC Rotterdam vs Voorburg 11:13
VOC : 3-1 (2.5 overs)
Nieuwoudt generates quite a bit of movement, away from the righthanders, and De Leede, a yard faster, also gets some good swing. Enough to account for O’Dowd, who fails to get over one and is caught by Viv Kingma at cover. Dirk van Baren in at three.
VRA Amsterdam vs HCC 11:10

Luke Scully up the order to open with Szwarczynski, Balbirnie up at three in Cooper’s absence. Left arm spin to start from Clayton Floyd, both bats off the mark with singles, Szwarczynski just laying one down in front of point and Scully cutting out to the cover sweeper. Good morning (/afternoon/evening) once again, one and all, and welcome to TKCricket’s coverage of today’s four matches in Round 11 of the Topklasse (Dosti playing ACC tomorrow). The weather seems to be playing along again, so hopefully we’ll get in a full day’s cricket, with some extremely interesting match-ups on the agenda. I’m currently in lockdown in Sydney, but happily that doesn’t affect my view of the cricket grounds from my virtual press box, while Bertus will again be watching VRA and Sander will be behind the lens to bring you a visual record of one of the games.
