Last week I mentioned hardly any franchise cricket was played by Dutch and my Nation, this was wrong as Bangladesh and Pakistan plus Dubai T10 have had men and of course in New Zealand with the ladies and of course the Fairbreak event. Lets hope the planed franchise event in USA will provide for other nations with it being in the States
A lso good luck to the Dutch in the T20 World Cup but it will be hard to get the amount of wins to surpass Zimbabwe as they are not in the event like the Scots and Namibia also need to make top 12 cut off. All though in saying this Ireland needs wins vs Canada and USA and target one of the big 2 which could happen.
Watched the women’s victories against Italy this week via YouTube and the setting was picturesque. Babette DeLeede showed her class with the bat and good all round bowling especially from Frederique Overdijk in the 2-0 series win with yet again rain runing 2 of them on Wednesday. Italy apart from Emilia Bartram were poor but as the saying goes you can only beat what is in front of you.
I am sure it was a case of getting wins after horror shows vs UAE and Ireland in the ICC T20 Qualifiers and roll on the next T20 series against Hong Kong in on 17 June but with players like Natasha Miles, Mariko Hill and Marina Lamplough it will be a bit more competitive as all have English County experiance in some ways.
Great win for VRA Amsterdam today being a supporter and was a bit nervy being 3 down in a chase early doors and far paly to Sparta for putting a up a fight. More of the same please next week against another of todays winners Punjab easy winners in the end
