Don’t know about the game being in the balance, but an interesting one Punjab vs VRA anyway. By far the highest score set by an away team this year and it will be a pressure chase for sure.
Just been following a valliant Ireland Women go down to a 4 wicket loss today vs England and could not be more proud of the commitment by the entire XI against an England side 4/5 down thus the reason 5 made their debuts.
Ireland aided by Orla Prendergast with help by Amy Hunter, Leah Paul and then Alice Tector down the order got Ireland to 210 all out of 46.5 overs with the destroyer being Kate Cross 6/30 of 9.5 overs.
Englands players from Hollie Armitage and Bess Heath two of the debutants and Kate Cross again with the runs seen England home but not without alarms along the way and Orla Prendergast took 2/27 but 91 balls were left unused which was the only concern.
The two sides meet again on Monday and Wedensday before 2 T20’s in Dublin which is the first cricket of any kind to be broadcast on Free to Air in the Republic of Ireland next weekend although rain and plenty of it is forecast lets hope for at least some play
Also well done to my VRA Amsterdam side in reaching the TK Final against Punjab next weekend after a total dominent win over VCC Voorburg today and in my eyes the best two sides are there in the the Final. Also well done to Kampong in getting to their Final agaist Quick Haag. 2 intresting encounters awaits us next weekend
Rod and Bertus thanks again for another outstanding season of reporting of Dutch club cricket – something kncb seem persistently unable or unwilling to do!
Much appreciated for us expatriated expatriates…
